i am playing chapter 6 and and i am not even kidding when i say that i am now emotionally attached to the fictional bugs and if anything were to somehow happen to any of them i would sob. i love them so much. they are all so precious. these are my babies. the buggies. i love them.
I remember playing this in 2020. I was trapped in my home all summer because of the pandemic and hardly got to see friends. I heard about this game and got it on my switch. I, not joking, told my mother in detail everything that happens after each chapter. I left to go see her after chapter 3 and told her the summary, then the rest after whenever I played them again. The reason why this isn't the whole game is because I physically could not wait for a new game capture to play more. It was the best part of my summer and if I could forget about it and play through it again, I would in a heartbeat. This and Omori I will never experience for the first time again but want to so badly. The chapter 7 theme when you first entire it still brings me to tears.

Dude, I wish too. I'll tell you that out of everything, I was NOT expecting chapter 7 at all. The best part was... I was playing it alone in my room and the lights were off. The silence from me was deafening.

I am so hyped for the remake. The only thing I'm upset about is they played me. They played music from the 64 game and I thought it was a remake of the full trilogy, but I shall take this and eat well.

No, it's not. Sorry to say lol. My favorite is stacking both attack ups and destroying everything with Kabbu's dig attack, as well as the shield that protects him from all damage on the first turn (or attack not sure if I remember).
@@thatonedabifan Oh. I actually DID put “Favorite One” along with some HP Plus’ on Kabbu. It makes his tanking abilities give back even more to the party through the charges.
Favorite One was the ONLY reason I was able to beat Zommoth.

Anyways, since your capture card corrupted, can I ask about how you felt about the following things :
- Kabbu's backstory
- Lief's backstory
- Elizant II 's truth
- Termite city
- The dead lands / giant's lair
Also, since you edited having flashbacks to the final boss, how many times do you think have you died to him and do you think he's challenging or frustrating.
Sorry if this is too much lol, you don't have to answer.
Alright, let's begin. Kabbu's backstory made me cry and his character got so much better when it already was amazing. He's riddled with survivors guilt, watched his teammates get eaten, and has carried this around since before the beginning of the game. You understand this sense of revenge and guilt, and this goes so far as for him to put Leif and Vi in danger, which he never would have done in any other circumstance. It drives him that far over the edge, and understandably so. It made his character feel more alive to me to watch him overcome this flaw, but how it nearly costed yet another groups life to get it. Side note, Kabbu yelling at Mothiva. He has been so patient throughout the entire game that seeing him have a little bit of, let's say, Vi in him and going off is hilarious.
Leif's backstory was really cool. Why he was still alive was such a mystery and he technically ISN'T alive, nor is he actually Leif. This fungus has his memories, but Leif is dead. Seeing him deal with that is understandably crippling. Kabbu and Vi never treat him any different. It was sweet and the boss was fun. I adored that bug fables used the zombie fungus concept with bugs because I remember that one game theory video about toad and how it taught me about that. Him meeting his family was very sweet too. Leif is yet another character who's flaws come out in this moment. He is always so calm and funny, yet he freezes in this moment and freaks out, wondering who he really is or if he's even real.
Imma skip to Termite City for a second because I wanna gush. Termite City is my favorite track in the game next to I think Work That Honey. It always gives me this melancholy feeling because when you finally get there, you are in the endgame. The stakes are higher than ever. The QUEEN herself is with you. Chapter 6 is my favorite chapter and the Forsaken Lands, Rubber Prison, and Termite Capital are some of the reasons why. The king of the Termite Capital is hilarious and fun to voice for me. This is also where Kabbu gives that kid his plush which is so precious to me. This is where the game gets a bit creepy with the forsaken lands. I didn't realize how willing this game was to be creepy until chapter 7.
Okay. Elizant. Love her. I had no idea what they would do with her. I thought she'd be a villain or something later. Nope. She's an insecure queen who feels she will never live up to her mother. Personally, I feel that. You never see Elizant, but you can tell, especially by how Leif talks about her, that she was kind and perfect in almost every way. Connections were lost that YOU had to mend after her passing, making Elizant mend one herself in the Termite Capital. She is a good queen and seeing a royal struggle like that and worry she isn't good enough for her kingdom is a really good character imo. It makes her more than just a grouchy queen who does things differently. She's trying, and I respect that.
......So, I played chapter 7 in the dark on a Friday night...... bad idea. First of all, the opening song to chapter 7 makes me bawl. That's how I know the game is REALLY about to end. I was talking about Giants Lair for AGES after I beat the game because of how much fear it put into me. I knew the game had it's moments, but that was PURE FEAR. The music is horrifying, the monsters are as strong as some bosses, THAT. FUCKING. EYE. WHAT IS THAT EYE?! WHY IS IT THERE?! WHAT IS IT GOING TO DO?! WHY DO THEY NEVER ACKOWLEDGE IT?! I am of the firm belief that Bug Fables takes place in the back yard of a house in a post apocalyptical earth due to the bugs intelligence and lack of ANY HUMAN. LIKE NOT ONE WALTZED INTO THE BACKYARD???? The house is run down and littered with mutants. That thing... That fucking eye, is far too small to be human, but... what is it?! An alien??? Far too intelligent to be an animal unless it got the same awakening as the Bugs did. Freaking scary.
I need a Bug Fables 2. I'd like to explore the North where Kabbu came from, the place with the fruit Bugs, and FIGURE OUT WHAT THAT DAMN EYE IS.
@@thatonedabifan About that eye thing, in the deadlands, you can see it's boney hands near the eye. Also you can see it roaming around with the telescope in the bee hive, but it's just a round silhouette. Also the devs call it "Dead lander omega".

I haven't played it. I heard it was definitely the best of the lesser paper marios. I do plan on playing it someday.
I like how I've barely picked up this game up this game and everyone agrees that Kabbu (although a tank) needs to be protected and almost every one falls under one of three factions while still respecting the others, those who like Kabbu, those who like Vi and those who like Leif. I myself like Leif more of the three.
I love Kabbu, but I would die for all 3 of them and a lot of the supporting characters.
