- (JOKE!!!) Interview with Soundgarden by Alain Johannes & Natasha Schneider of the band Eleven. This was a spoof filmed on 26/3/96 as a promo item for the "Down on the Upside" album. I transferred this from an official A&M promo VHS tape. Part 1 of 2.
To avoid the youtube sensors, I had to cut out "Pretty Noose" but it's on Telephantasm anyway, so who cares.
Apologies for the accasional watermark in the centre, that's what happens when you couldn't be arsed paying for editing software!!

Three years without Chris, miss him dearly, i remember when down on the upside came out, good ol nineties! and Soundgarden were my favorite band!! Long live their legacy!
I despair for people who STILL don't get that this entire interview was a joke that the band was "in" on and probably thought up the idea themselves. The two "interviewers" are friends of the band and fellow (rock) musicians who collaborated with Cornell many times.
If people keep leaving knuckle-dragging remarks, I'm gonna have to disable all comments.

My understanding is that this was set up by Ben's Brother and they didn't know it was going to be Alain and Natasha and when they started laughing both Alain and Natasha played it straight...

Ha Alain's question at 1:26 is a word for word copy of Hans Keller's question to Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd when they played at Look of the Week in May 1967. I had no idea until I saw the original interview. Clever stuff!

This interview is GOLD lol! I think Alain got the inspiration for his character from an old Pink Floyd interview from the 60's where the interviewer goes on about how the music is "just too loud" lol. At least that's what it reminds me of lol.

This is fucking hilarious! The band are really struggling to articulate their true feelings. It's like they're way out of their comfort zone. It's great! The interviewers aren't sucking up whatsoever. They're almost trying to insult the guys. Awesome! So refreshing compared to the usual style of interview. Matt Cameron is really the only one who's not afraid to be honest. I love this.
