Billy, I’m an 81 yr old Mohawk from Ontario Canada, I’m infirmed now but during my yrs spent in the woods which has Been many I have never used the hand drill method, however I do know how to do it. I am quite impressed with how fas you produced a glow. Keep up the good work son and please throw that little fancy finger knife in the kitchen drawer before you injure yourself..."...... billytwohearts
just brilliant Bill ! that is one thing I need to try. Not only was that a master class in the hand drill, but it goes off the scale with the bacon vision :) atb Richie.
Great job. I have never attempted a bow drill, let alone a hand drill. A bow drill fire is on my list of goals for this year. I'll put off the hand drill until I've mastered the bow. Cheers.
Thanks Bill for the upload, having these skills is really awesome! I'm just starting on the bow drill, using a willow board and willow spindle. Any tips to get a good ember? Thanks again for the nice video. ...May the hatchet never hit your hand... -Sam from Adventure Basics
Appreciate your support Sam! Good luck with your bow drill, I'd just say make sure your notch is cut right so the dust all gathers in the right place and take your time. Slowly warming the board up before putting all the speed and power into it works really nice Bill
Never mastered the hand drill the bow drill done a little better but not for a long time 10 out of 10 young man and you can.t beat a few rashers of bacon over the camp fire All the best Bill ...steve
