I owned 3 of these systems, had all the US games & swore by it when I worked at EB. I always loved SNK, but had to wait until the neo geo CD. Either way, the pocket was a great little system.
It sure was! It's awesome that you can mod them today with IPS screens and bring them forward. Makes them so much more playanle. Great systems all around.
What makes something under rated? I have never seen anyone say anything bad about this console. Only negative is the lack of sales, but that’s not because anyone that played it didn’t like it. I remember the reviews at the time were great! Problem was it was hard to find at the time, unless I was willing to pay double for import price. This was Australia.
So was the Game Gear, the Gameboy was pretty limited and dated compared to the contemporaries, all things considered. But as you said, Nintendo had Mario, Zelda as well as the sales juggernaut of Pokemon. No competing with those titans back then
I was given a copy of king of fighters when i bought a game boy with some games. it was just in the lot. now i kinda wanna play it, better find me a neogeo

Very underrated console. I really wish it had more games available.
Agreed! I had no idea how cool it actually is until this one popped up at the local retro game store recently. Glad I'm no longer naive. :)
I think I have this in a box somewhere in my garage
@@troigrl Lucky!
I'd love to own one of these again one day.

I'm in it for the horoscope and sonic. Great video by the way.
Your horoscpoe for today reads: "You will fall in love with a new retro gaming handheld from 1999." :)
Very nice, never played a Neo Geo handheld, I DO recall thinking back in the day it would be a cool Gameboy alternative but I never did get one.
Thanks! Yeah, me neither. I came across this one recently at my local retro game store. I took a chance on it. Glad I did.

I had one and loved it. Wish it had back light, but that was not a battery practical thing then.
True. It literally sips baterry power and can run up to 40 hours. That's some incredible battery life!
It was all about the clicky stick. Can’t replicate it without original hardware…
Agreed! The clicky stick rocks.
Are you planning on.a Physical for Raven’s Core? I’ll buy one in an instant.
Thank you! I think it depends on how well the digital version sells.
This system was superior to Gameboy, but without mario and zelda
Agreed. At least they got Sonic on board! :)

Same as the Game Gear, to me.
I was given a copy of king of fighters when i bought a game boy with some games. it was just in the lot. now i kinda wanna play it, better find me a neogeo
Some of the games you can buy digital eshop
Sure enough! It's great to see them on the Switch being brought to a new generation of gamers.
One of my favorite handhelds. I have three of them that I got back in 2000 and 2001 for me and my little brother 🥷🏽🥷🏼
Awesome! I agree, they are uniquely special systems.
I love the neogeo pocket
Cool! It really is a great system.
Do the Wonder Swan next
THAT is a great idea! :)
