Interesting.When my son,who I had named after my grandfather, was three we traveled across the country to visit my grandma. When we got there he said "I remember this place. I used to fly in these woods."
We had cremated grampa and threw his ashes from a cliff in the woods behind the house.

I've learned to recognise the feeling of familiarity from the past. I think it's probably the main reason for people getting the strange feeling in old places... but in the modern mindset they think it's a ghost rather than an instinct.

I wrote a bit of reincarnation, I am Buddhist for over 40+ years. In the post that I wrote about rebirth , the theme was about heavenly realms. I answered that but that is of course
only positive karma , can lead to heavenly realms. here is a short over view on Karma
Buddhism is a cause and effect teaching ( yes much more also but this is a short over view)
Karma means deed ( like to do) so there is good karma , neutral karma and bad karma. making good karma one gets positive results , making bad karma one gets negitive results.
Vipāka (Sanskrit and Pāli) is a Buddhist term for the ripening or maturation of karma (Pāli kamma), or intentional actions. the common people say, make karma and get karma.
if you make good karma you will get positive results in this life for the next life, you can even raise to a a heavenly realm if you have lots of good karma
if you make lots of bad karma you will recieve bad results in this life or in the next live, even going to a realm of suffering
so make good karma, which is good for you and good for others, and try not to make bad karma, which is bad for you and bad for others.
to end the suffering one must not be reborn at all , all karma must be finished , no more ripening or maturation of karma, then you are totally free from rebirth.
May all living creatures be happy and free from suffering

This is fascinating! Back in grad school, I remember a respected friend and colleague once speculated about how Greco-Roman polytheism might have developed in the absence of Christianly and the other Abrahamic faiths. He posited that it might look more akin to Hinduism. I tucked that hypothesis away with friendly "hmmm" and a nod. Since then, the more I lean, I can't see it happening any other way.
that whole birthmark thing got me thinking supposedly my great grandfather was killed by a head wound received in WW2 and I have a birthmark on the left side of my head above the ear. Kind of weird now that I think about it.
I have a birthmark on the front of my neck in the dead center right above my Adams apple. It must have been a grizzly one in that life but hopefully it was heroic.

Another idea: Considering that (Indo)Europeans always have lived close to the spiritual leader (not the least because communities were small) there must've been rites of passage, like the Vedic 'samskaras'. If we listen to 'He who must not be named' one of them was for the child to enter the grave of the ancestors at the age of 7 or 8, to sort of 'become' him/herself (i.e. the ancestor). It would be interesting to dig deeper in what we know about rites of passage among the Germanic tribes. If you want I can help with information as research and ideas. All the best / Björn

Finally, someone acknowledges the reincarnation in our ancestral religion. Since childhood when I first learned of Valhalla and Fólkvangr, I've always seen those as places where whom die in battle go and then reincarnate (after 1000 years, but not always that long) to the same bloodline they were once of, of course if the bloodline still exists. That's why it's one of most important things to me to bed and marry a pure aryan virgin woman from my country to bear my pure aryan children. (almost already accomplished that) That way I can once more bring my ancestors back to my bloodline. That's also why everyone in the pure bloodlines inherits the real "ancestral knowledge."

Your channel is great!! ALOT of good information. You've actually inspired me to look up some of my family surname and found out some very interesting things. My surname arrived around 830 AD and was known to be of after Ragnar invading England. Interested to do more research to find out if it could be of his bloodline or someone that followed him into battle.
interesting that you mentioned the birthmarks being wounds from previous lives. I have always had that kind of thought. I don’t have any birthmarks, but i’m instead plagued with memory-like dreams where i drowned. Always the same place, same weather and time of day.
My oldest however was born with a birthmark on their waist, eerily similar to a knife stab wound.
I have a birthmark on the front of my neck in the dead center right above my Adams apple and one that looks exactly like a knife stab wound on the inside of my leg were my femoral artery is.
Interesting. Reincarnation has always resonated with me. There are things I just knew way too young that freaked my mother out. When I was born it was common practice to anesthetize the mother so deeply that a doctor was required to drag the baby out. I have scars on both sides of my head to this day (age 62) from the forceps that were used. My father named me after Greek mythology, and my sister after Roman. My brother got the 4th generation male name, and he's the only one that seems to call back to someone I can say, yes, he's that guy. Me, I could be any one of several up either line. That I "could not possibly know that" (I remember being told), sort of says my mother's line. But they raised me and told me the stories, so who knows if I came with it, or I'm remembering my grandmother's stories. Those who could tell me are gone, especially about the scars and marks, and confirm the stories.

100% I have been here before, I was brought back to the settlement with a spear through my heart. I was born with an unusual hole in my heart. What we know we need to forget cuz this life is just a lie a false world where we have forgotten what is important. We live in a heavily Judo-Christian influenced culture where the history they teach in our schools is 200 years out dated. Its time the so called Christian religion is held accountable for the atrocity's it's responsible for. We need to have a more Animistic view of the world. Really interesting video, many thanks for refreshing common sense and sharing actual sources, not just unmitigated personal gnosis. I did wonder about the names, and if the naming of the child for an esteemed ancestor was intended to bring about the reincarnation of that ancestor or at the least, to imbue the baby with the good attributes of the ancestor. Also the naming. You're right about modern names btw. As for birthmarks, I have the "family birthmark" passed down through the female side, a particular shaped mark always in the same spot on every female in my family on the right wrist. I don't know exactly what it means but an interesting thing (for me, sorry!) is that my DNA takes me back to, amongst other sources, two Viking Age warrior burials in Iceland. One was Icelandic, the other was Irish (which is also interesting to me from an amateur historian's pov) and the Icelander had a severed right hand which rested next to the sadly unrecoverable remains of a sword.
I believe this 100% now. Never thought about it until I woke up crying one morning and my wife asked what was wrong. I dreamed or remembered being afraid and angry at the nazis for killing my brother and sisters. It felt so real It was the craziest experience I ever had. This is one of the things (amongst many more) that got me to leave Christianity. Oh also I don't have a brother ...that I know of lol. I do have sisters but in the memory they were someone else.
You may incarnate across continents. As some countries are more conducive to specific lessons than others.

Regardless of where your name originated, it has a strong meaning. I believe the meaning of a name supersedes everything else. My name means believer or anointed one. I think it quite fitting given how spiritual I am despite the fact I am not religious.

I have had a life long fear of heights. And I've always believed that I fell to my death in my past life.
I have always believed I've been tied to my son in many different ways in many lives. But he told me the other day that he thinks that he is brand new. So this plane must have been his first spiritual journey! He certainly acts like an alien to this earth - unfounded existential anxiety and general uncomfortability outside of his safe places. It might be confirmation bias, but this makes sense to me!
I can relate to the one where someone died when a baby was in the womb and then that baby got named after him, because I was named after my great grandfather who died when I was in the womb, and I have some (albeit not too uncommon) traits that he is said to have had.
But it's interesting, because does that mean that we do not have a soul in the womb? Are they purely material beings that the souls of deceased grandparents can then move into?
As a child, maybe 4 years old, I few times dreamed about a man, going off the train and going home. And I as a child thought in this dream, that I don't know where my home is... Very weird dream and a few times the same. I think I was that man. Now in this life, I am a woman, but I love many manly things, for example, sports, I am not romantic like many women are, etc. Although I like men, I am not gay. Another interesting thing is that this man was very dull person, with dull clothes and now I want to be a striking person :) And I so much hate noise. I can't sleep when someone is talking in the neighborhood, not to speak about the music. But the noise of trains does not disturb me at all, I like it!
I wasn't at all convinced the germanics or old norse believed in reincarnation, but the sheer amount of evidence you mentioned pretty much changed my mind.

What exactly is reincarnation? Obviously the person reborn won't have his memories of his past life or anything, so what is the functionality of it? How is it different from the person instead of being reborn is just his own person?
Maybe there’s no functionality. Maybe it’s just pure chaos and randomness of physics.
I was talking to my wife about reincarnation in the bible, apparently most practitioners of christianity today are adamantly against the belief of reincarnation, but some say there are scriptures that point to it. It occurred to me that the reason the anti-reincarnation (seemingly to the point of not being considered a "real" christian) is so strong is because when christianity was being forcefully applied to our ancestors, the main obstacle in conversion was likely the belief in reincarnation.
Reincarnation actually WAS in the bible and removed during (if I remember correctly) the 4th Council of Nicea. Same problem the Romans had with the Germanics...no fear of death in the people. Uncontrollable.

He confirms that the world is animated by nature spirits and that the Nordic gods are real beings. Very interesting is the connection between Odin and Buddha.

Interesting thought provoking video thank you Michael I might submit one possibility for the fetal position of skeletons found in tombs is that in time the soft tissue of a human body or any skeleton in time might shrink and cause the limbs to tighten and constrict ... in other words if they were stretched out straight when put to rest in time the drying up of soft tissue might force them into a bent position at the hips and the knees... that's just a theory to add to the conversation... thanks...may i add one caveat..just because natural laws may dictate a certain result in our reality..may have no bearing on an alternative reality that is free of the natural physical laws that we find ourselves subject to...for all we know a belief may have the power to create...

I think that reincarnation is just one part of the Norse afterlives, I think that most people get reincarnated, but you can also get selected for valhalla or folkvangr through the "traditional methods" haha

I have this theory:
-The one driving force behind all life is reproduction, or passing on one's genes. Every living thing does it.
-I believe in a soul / consciousness / energy / spirit / life force / etc that exists beyond this plane.
-Third, they say at the base of everything is frequency (and vibration).
Now with those 3 things, I think the drive to reproduce is because our soul has it's own frequency, as does our DNA. So the only way to ensure you exist and to repeatedly reincarnate would be to continually reproduce your frequency to increase the odds of coming back to this world.
What other explanation can there be? If you have no soul, you have no expectation to come back. So why have this innate "concern" about the next generation (this question is posed beyond humans because we can use emotion as an excuse but a bug can't)?

It's a specific dimension one goes when disincarnate. If they had fulfilled their life's path in knowledge and accordance to One-ness.
It's hard to say. Definitely not enough evidence to know for sure. Some think valhalla is just like the Bhuddist/Hindu Nirvana(where you stop being reincarnated and achieve this "heaven". Others think valhalla is simply the mothers womb when reincarnated. And there are those who think Valhalla is just something made up by the Vhristian authors of our sources and not an original part of pagan beliefs. All have lots of good points. i'm not sure what I believe
