In Roxanne's defense, she was reacting like Max was rejecting her and coming up with a lame excuse. You could tell from her body language and expression that she wasn't just blowing him off, she was heartbroken.
I think Roxanne, was just self conscious. He suddenly out of now where says he can't go anymore(after he's got the attentions of other girls no less). She may have felt rejected and that he was just making excuses to cut her off. Its hard to prove or disprove something like that when you're in that situation
That's exactly what happened. These horny fools are only seeing their perspectives. Same with the everything has to do with black people thing they always bring up. I agree. They are being way too hard on Roxanne. She was just insecure with herself like many teenage girls are at that age. She thought Max was making excuses to get out of seeing her.
I know people always talk about Phil Collins creating an epic soundtrack for Disney's Tarzan, BUT this movie (specifically Powerline) is highly underrated because Tevin Campbell killed it with the songs he did for the film. Sadly, Powerline only got TWO songs; I2I & Stand Out. It's a shame that Stand Out is heavily overshadowed by I2I. It is so dang good! I encourage you to listen to the whole song because it gets played (well different parts of it) throughout the movie, but I2I is saved for the ending.
People from my generation of the 90s and 2000s will forever love this classic. Much like films like Balto, Batman:Mask of the Phantasm, Cats Don't Dance, Good Burger, We're Back A Dinosaur Story, and The Iron Giant, it was a film that didn't do well when it first came out but grew a life on video.

Honestly, the whole Roxanne/Max dynamic is probably the most accurate picture of dating as teenager I’ve seen. I worked as a teacher this past year and that stuff really rang true to me based on what I’ve seen/heard at my job. Both never talked to each other, but already know they really like each other. Max makes a date and has to cancel, Roxanne’s probably thinking that since his dance at the school, he’s been getting other girls showing interest in him and he’s rejecting her. They’re kids, they don’t know what the hell they’re doing or how to process/express their emotions fully, and both are clearly very self conscious, so that doesn’t help either. So yeah, no shit it doesn’t last, it’s a fucking high school relationship.

This review not only made me spit my water twice, but made me laugh so much that I hadn't in a while! This might be my top for best reviews for this year.
Max was in his late teens in this; this was probably his last year at that school. The movie is meant to be series finale of the Disney Afternoon show: "The Goof Troop" where Goofy was raising his son.
As a kid I related to Max. Now, as a parent, I relate to both of them. I'll have a bad day and a my kid being a brat. It's heart warming when she sees that and tries to take care of me like I take care of her
Speaking Of Underrated Disney Renaissance Films! Korey, Martian, And Chris ought to do a retro review of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (The Disney Version) at some point!
Tevin Campbell! The music is the best part of this movie. "How many gang members you know dress up like superheroes?" "Devo" "That aint no gang!" Sickness for the thickness?
The funniest part about Max' reaction at 43:12 is that before he's trying to tell Goofy "dad maybe this is a bad idea, [gets distracted by the ass] well then again" like one minute he doesnt want to commit a crime then next hes willing to risk it all for the ass.
I loved the hot tub scene (not as sexy as it sounds lmao) Pete did have to tell Goofy what Max was doing. Pete's an adult, and Goofy's friend. No one would ever call him the "cool dad", so of course he'd tell Goofy. If that betrayal happens to drive a wedge between them, maybe that's a bonus for him, but Goofy had to know. Also I think Pete is just Goofy's coworker not his boss, but he did own a used car dealership in Goof Troop so he may have some money from that to afford that ridiculous RV.
@@batman369able I personally subscribe to the divorce theory for them but Pete getting half of her money or them being happily married and pooling their income both result in that RV being possible, so either one's fine.
Man, looking back I am surprised of how much innuendo they got in this film with a G rating Especially starting with that scene of Max checking out those dancers at 43:05 Man his hormones must’ve kicked in LOL
Man this brings tears to my eyes I watch this all the time on hbo kids with my Dad who has sadly left this world I love the soundtrack to this day😎 and watch it every summer even now ❤️
Koery isn't wrong about people in the film not communicating. You know it's bad when a Big Foot character is the easiest to understand. "Hey that smells good I want it, you took me for a ride now I'm pissed, I'm sleepy this car is a lot nicer than rocks, good night"
@12:28 Roxanne is average? Is she though ...well perhaps for a 15 year old dog...but when I saw the film I related to both her and Max...I had no bo"bs but I had thighs, and a$$... which I hated because I wanted to be pam Anderson . I felt like I was max as a 7th grader meaning me having a low self-esteem, and wanting the cool guy, who was a class clown. The guy I had a crush on was a brown skin brother that was six feet tall skinny and just funny! We will call him Rod....Rod brought so much joy to my life .. however Rod Never wanted me ...Rod wanted a girl name Tamieka who was flattered chest then me and didn't have my hips thighs, and a$$ that I had. The problem was, she was ghetto popular while I was a Huxtable...so I grew up feeling unworthy, unloved, unaccepted....along with negative body self perception... feeling like if I had a small lower body and a big upper body like pam Anderson... My point is Roxanne had every right to feel insecure! I know you guys are just making jokes...but if you had a black female point of view you would understand Roxanne's point of view. When she said: 'im sure I can find someone else " she wasn't saying it can replace you at the drop of the dime...what she's doing is being strong and trying to move on because she believes she isn't pretty enough or good enough for him but she doesn't want to show her weaknesses to him because she feels like he never really liked her to begin with . Females feel insecurity about their looks which, comes from their physical beauty. Roxanne is average? No she's a 15 year old tenth grader that is still growing . This 90210 female dogs (but*ches) are 18/19 they are more physically developed. Roxanne had the same self hate that max has I was both Roxanne and Max. Insecurity and parental gaps is the point of this film . That's why this film is universal
I think this movie could be a "adult" animated film for kids to learn about the birds and the bees. TBH, I like how the character animators and designers making cute and hot Disney girls to make us "furry" artists to do more artwork or fan fic work to make something hotter for Max. BTW, this is before the passing of Dana Hill in 1996 as Jason Marsden taking over the voice of Max after Peter Pan and the Pirates. Disney was awesome in the 90's with nostalgia and "innuendos." LOL! GREAT VID, MAN!
Goofy Movie is one of my top favorite Disney movies of all time. Second to that is Rescues Down Under. Also, Max and Roxanne are canon again. The new Duck Tales confirmed this with a cameo with Goofy.
I like how they skipped over the part when the principal threatened goofy that if max don’t rectify his behavior he’ll be thrown in the electric chair. Even as a kid long ago I’m like WTF?!?! You gonna execute a kid for a lil stunt?
@@ktownshutdown21 They are together though. If im not mistaken they had a date on the house of mouse cartoon which I believe is after Extemely Goofy Movie
There’s a house of mouse episode where Max and Roxanne are still dating, but idk if that’s before or after the 2nd movie. Though in the episode he might be in college already.
Roxanne and Max's relationship- in terms of overarching relationship, is really inconsistent. They aren't together in An Extremely Goofy Movie, are together in The House of Mouse show, aren't together in Micky's Twice Upon a Christmas (he's with someone else), and in the Duck Tales reboot they are confirmed to be together. There's no real evidence to say any of these are connected so it's hard to plot their history and if their relationship did last. I just assumed that the Duck Tales reboot confirmed that they got back together after an extremely Goofy Movie or were together the whole time. It's really kind of frustrating considering the first Goofy movie built her up as an interesting character to explore (beyond the surface level) but they never really did anything with her so now their whole dynamic is kind of screwed up- are they a couple? Are they not a couple? who knows? I don't think Disney even knows at this point. It doesn't exactly matter all that much, but to people like me who grew up with the two Goofy movies it just feels like there could have been more to it all.
Hi my name is Erica and I have cerebral palsy who's a millennial Thanks to voice actor Jason Marsden the voice of Max inspired me to check your review out and it is so hilarious that I shared with friends
Keep in mind that Pete's rude and tough love act might have to do with him being a cat similar to Goofy having the overly joyful love act because he's a dog.
I fucking love this movie, great soundtrack, simple plot, entertaining slap stick humor. I was a fan of the Goof Troop show where I was introduced to Max, so me seeing the movie was a easy transition
I use to love the hell outta this movie as a kid. I hadn’t watched it in a long time till I watched y’all’s review. I forgot how dope the music was with Powerline. Can’t get it outta my head now.
I remember seeing this movie at the drive in when I was three, I remember for weeks after I would ask my mom whenever she went to the store to try and find the cheese that you can make shapes like Bobby had. I remember having my first crush on Roxanne. I remember at the climax having anxiety thinking… They’re really about to kill goofy, I’m about to watch him die. It’s crazy to think how much of this movie I still remember seeing at such a young age, I guess it really shows how good it really is.
This is one of my fave non-fairytale Disney movies! I even loved the soundtrack and score so much I bought the CD. Now at age 42, I'll still rock out to I2I on a long road trip😄
The fact that Powerline is still not a Kingdom Hearts summon is criminal.
That would be amazing
Bruh FAAAAACTS!!!!! Never even thought about that but now I need it!
🤩
maybe it would be a "Smooth" Criminal 😎
Oh that would be godly
When Pete says: “hey, my kid respects me“ Goody should’ve given a comeback saying: “No, he’s afraid of you”
I think Goofy's response was perfect. That's basically what he's saying without saying it. I mean really, it speaks for itself; Pete doesn't want to be friends with his kids, he just wants the authority. Everyone around him is just a pawn and that's how he sees them. The real shocking part is honestly how brutally realistic Goofy's response is; He's trying to be polite but he clearly has disdain for Pete and his way of parenting.

I love the fact they referenced Powerline in the DuckTales reboot!
This review not only made me spit my water twice, but made me laugh so much that I hadn't in a while!
This might be my top for best reviews for this year.
I remember going to see this in theaters as a kid. I can damn near still sing all the songs 🤣😂
Daaamn I bet that was a hella dope experience!
Max was in his late teens in this; this was probably his last year at that school. The movie is meant to be series finale of the Disney Afternoon show: "The Goof Troop" where Goofy was raising his son.
It was more like junior high. They actually show them graduating in An Extremely Goofy Movie.
Lol, Max was a freshman in this movie.. The sequel came out about 4 years later and he was headed off to college
As a kid I related to Max. Now, as a parent, I relate to both of them. I'll have a bad day and a my kid being a brat. It's heart warming when she sees that and tries to take care of me like I take care of her
easily one of disney best animated films. tevin campbell voicing powerline was genius
Right?! Ahhh bring back Powerline somehow Disney!!
I need to see more of them review animated movies. Good or Bad. Because they can just go all out
A Goofy Movie is a highly underated Disney Renaissance era movie.
Hope y'all review the sequel An Extremely Goofy Movie
Max was a real asshole to goof in that one
Speaking Of Underrated Disney Renaissance Films!
Korey, Martian, And Chris ought to do a retro review of The Hunchback Of Notre Dame (The Disney Version) at some point!
@@dylansmith5206 they've already said back on spill that they don't much care for that movie.
@@Til_thesmokeclrz what movie?
This is a really underrated movie
Criminally underrated
I wouldn't call it underrated. Everyone agrees that it's good.
@@codafett but Disney doesn’t credit it as much
As a millennial, Goofy Movie is sooo nostalgic for me!!! I use to love this movie when I was a child. Had the vhs and all
Also, Stacy got her girl's back. She came in like "Nah bitch. He don't need worms."
Corey is the "old man" I strive be one day; opinionated, yet open minded with friends of many different walks of life young and old. Love ya, Corey 👍
I'm sure he'd love to hear that 😂
Yeah except he'll be like " im not old wtf" 😂@@bangitybangbabang
Max and Roxanne are such a cute couple, and I2I is such a bop, I am still listening it today!
I'm 40 this year and me and fam still rate this movie very highly 👌🏾. Well played toasties and them DT boys. That's high praise.
Max is tryin' to act 'black' while he and Goofy are literally black.
Goofy was originally based on black stereotypes, so I guess I always just assumed he was still "black"
The amount of black people who have claimed goofy and Max I was just under the assumption that they are both black coded
the line about Max always being his son no matter how old he gets hits different
A sickness for the thickness. *LOL* Chris Herman was on fire.
YO STACEY talk to me talk to me talk to me baby!
As a kid in the 90’s, I hated songs in animated movies (pretty much every disney film) but this one, Lion King, and Mulan had really good ones 👌
Aladdin had some slaps too
I love DT, and this is probably one of the funniest retro reviews theyve done. I had to pause a few times to catch my breath.
Use to watch this all the time. Being a dad now the nobody else song gets me tears eyed now. Glad you guys did this one. Awesome
Tevin Campbell! The music is the best part of this movie.
"How many gang members you know dress up like superheroes?"
"Devo"
"That aint no gang!"
Sickness for the thickness?
Wow no wonder we don't see Roxanne in the next movie. Max took the red pill and saw the truth about her being messy lol
Roxanne and Max have appeared together several times throughout the Disney franchise most notable House of Mouse and 2017 Ducktales.
14:36 looking at bobby now makes me think he was suppose be this world's version of a hyena at first with how wild he acts
The funniest part about Max' reaction at 43:12 is that before he's trying to tell Goofy "dad maybe this is a bad idea, [gets distracted by the ass] well then again" like one minute he doesnt want to commit a crime then next hes willing to risk it all for the ass.
which is what started the adventure in the first place lol
7:11 “YOU LIKE YO DADDY!?!?” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I loved the hot tub scene (not as sexy as it sounds lmao) Pete did have to tell Goofy what Max was doing. Pete's an adult, and Goofy's friend. No one would ever call him the "cool dad", so of course he'd tell Goofy. If that betrayal happens to drive a wedge between them, maybe that's a bonus for him, but Goofy had to know.
Also I think Pete is just Goofy's coworker not his boss, but he did own a used car dealership in Goof Troop so he may have some money from that to afford that ridiculous RV.
Plus Pete has a successful wife as well
@@batman369able I personally subscribe to the divorce theory for them but Pete getting half of her money or them being happily married and pooling their income both result in that RV being possible, so either one's fine.
Certified hood classic.
One of these days we're going to find out who Max's mother is.
Yo Stacyyyyyyyy ...talk to me talk to me talk to me babyyyyyyyy
Man, looking back I am surprised of how much innuendo they got in this film with a G rating
Especially starting with that scene of Max checking out those dancers at 43:05
Man his hormones must’ve kicked in LOL
sickness for the thickness is wild 😂
"It's the Leaning Tower of Chees-ah!"
Man this brings tears to my eyes I watch this all the time on hbo kids with my Dad who has sadly left this world I love the soundtrack to this day😎 and watch it every summer even now ❤️
That’s great man ! Keep it up and pass it down 👍🏽
Koery isn't wrong about people in the film not communicating. You know it's bad when a Big Foot character is the easiest to understand. "Hey that smells good I want it, you took me for a ride now I'm pissed, I'm sleepy this car is a lot nicer than rocks, good night"
It’s funny coming back to this after watching Atlanta lol
Am I the only one who always thought Goofy and Max were Black?
I thought so too. In a way.
@12:28 Roxanne is average?
Roxanne had the same self hate that max has
I was both Roxanne and Max.
Insecurity and parental gaps is the point of this film . That's why this film is universal
I loved this movie so much as a kid I attempted to get other kids to call me Max instead of my actual name 😄
I think this movie could be a "adult" animated film for kids to learn about
the birds and the bees. TBH, I like how the character animators and designers making
cute and hot Disney girls to make us "furry" artists to do more artwork or fan fic work
to make something hotter for Max. BTW, this is before the passing of Dana Hill in 1996
as Jason Marsden taking over the voice of Max after Peter Pan and the Pirates.
Disney was awesome in the 90's with nostalgia and "innuendos." LOL! GREAT VID, MAN!
Pervert
Goofy Movie is one of my top favorite Disney movies of all time. Second to that is Rescues Down Under.
Also, Max and Roxanne are canon again. The new Duck Tales confirmed this with a cameo with Goofy.
Sickness for the Thickness - Chris Herman 2022
Classic line
I like how they skipped over the part when the principal threatened goofy that if max don’t rectify his behavior he’ll be thrown in the electric chair. Even as a kid long ago I’m like WTF?!?! You gonna execute a kid for a lil stunt?
I miss big budget, hand drawn movies coming to theaters.
We gotta get that extremely goofy movie review now.
It was one of the few good Disney direct-to-video sequels, but this movie was way better. Funny enough, both of them were made by Disneytoon Studios.
No we don't.
That movie doesn't exist, Max/Roxanne is forever canon, no lame sequel ever ruined the greatest animated romance of the 90s, END O STORY.
@antoine lebrane What movie? 🤔
@@ktownshutdown21 They are together though. If im not mistaken they had a date on the house of mouse cartoon which I believe is after Extemely Goofy Movie
@@ktownshutdown21 and to add its a pic of them together in the ducktales reboot
@@UbinTimor maybe it's due to them breaking up and getting back together
Hi my name is Erica and I have cerebral palsy who's a millennial Thanks to voice actor Jason Marsden the voice of Max inspired me to check your review out and it is so hilarious that I shared with friends
Keep in mind that Pete's rude and tough love act might have to do with him being a cat similar to Goofy having the overly joyful love act because he's a dog.
That little girl at that rip-off Chuckie cheese looks like a toy at Poppy Playtime
Those Powerline songs had no business going as hard as they did.
I fucking love this movie, great soundtrack, simple plot, entertaining slap stick humor. I was a fan of the Goof Troop show where I was introduced to Max, so me seeing the movie was a easy transition
I love this movie! No one ever talks about where Pete's wife and daughter.
I use to love the hell outta this movie as a kid. I hadn’t watched it in a long time till I watched y’all’s review. I forgot how dope the music was with Powerline. Can’t get it outta my head now.
I just received my 1st Disney Movie Club purchase with A Goofy Movie and An Extremely Goofy Movie! This video couldn’t have come at a better time!
39:21 Be a goddamn parent to your son!
Max went to that euphoria school
45:14
Did anyone else notice both Mickey and Max in the crowd? Lol
Mickey's just tweaked out. He don't know where he is.

I literally listen on the daily the soundtrack to this movie. Specially, "After today", "Stand out" and "i2i". Like they are so good.
One of my favorite Disney movies along with Treasure Planet 💯
44:37 "GORSH SHES THICC AHYUCK !!!"
What if goofy is like John wick. He broke away from Mickey to live a normal life. 😂
This is one of my fave non-fairytale Disney movies! I even loved the soundtrack and score so much I bought the CD. Now at age 42, I'll still rock out to I2I on a long road trip😄
For got to mention the multiple show tunes that Max was forced to listen to. Also Roxanne appears in House of Mouse after this
