Awesome job so far on the cage I’ve only got to see one episode not for sure if you’ve done the other two episodes are not doing a nice job keep up the good work
Tabs for the seat belt need to be 10° harness bar needs to be lower so when you crank down it sucks you in the seat normally somewhere between Elbow and shoulder for next time looking good
Nice man. Hopefully they will have a Roadkill event 2021 and you can bring that bad boy out! Good plan to do the cage now than have to later. You want a new stick of SFI roll bar padding? I have an extra piece I can ship you. If you end up needing more my guys at DJ Safety have it. I got yelled at for not having padding on my cage 🤣
Thanks man, I appreciate the offer. I actually work at Speedway Motors now so I already have all that stuff ready. I'm looking forward to 2021 for racing!
You could get away with just welding the 6x6 plates to the floor and attaching the bars to them since you're not trying to pass tech and a track and just driving on the street.
Bro, I had to do something similar, but it was a lifted platform about 6ft x 6ft at work, the hand railing was all tubing, including down the 5 steps stairway, gawd. That was awful we didn't have a tube notcher or much experience working with tube. I had no experience working with tube notching as a welder. 🤦🏻♂️ Took us forever to build it. Lol. So much damn grinding for a good fit without a tube notcher. Never again! 😂
What are your wheel sizes? I'm considering a similar setup, but I thought 17" front and 15" might look weird. I need at least 16" up front to clear my 12" brakes. These look great.
Was the seat back bar part of the kit? All I’m finding with S&W kits use straight seat back bars. I’m looking for the double bent seat back bar. Would you mind sharing the part# of your S&W kit? Thanks love your videos.
Robby V's Garage I did call them, they said that kit comes with straight seat back bar. He sent me an order form to have a custom bar made. I will just order it and hope for the best. If not I will just have a local shop bend one for me. Thanks for your help,
@@J5BAIL were you able to order your cage with any specifics to get a figment like the video? Have you received your cage yet? I am looking into possibly ordering the same one and any info is very much appreciated!
Z Ach i ordered the kit with no special orders and it came with the pre-bent seat belt bar. Exactly how it was shown in this video. Great roll bar kit.
So if I wanted to do just the cage inside the cab without the rear runners going through the rear window would that still work for nhra 8.5 regulations?
Thats looking good man! That truck is in great shape too! Ive been considering the cage so i can actually race mine somewhere. (1988, 383 stroker n/a th350, 9” rear) nothing fancy lol Hey do you mind if i ask what tires your running on that thing?? Im looking for something to get some bite on the road when the torque comes in, but theres so many choices online its hard to decide which ones to go with. Love to hear any suggestions! Stay cool brother!
I’m running Mickey Thompson et street radial pros. They aren’t the best for constant street driving, mostly track. Maybe a drag radial like the et street ss
Is there a way to design the cage that you can remove the bed once the bars come through the rear window? I have to cage my truck and not looking forward to that if I can't find a solution.
You could use a tube connector like these www.summitracing.com/parts/tgi-180111-kit?seid=srese1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqrb7BRDlARIsACwGad4TFIbiZ5OoNSEY-7iIJqLP-zKCcmoOPK7nn34YLpryBjx2fKSSZaIaAo4UEALw_wcB
Love the s10 build been watching and getting ideas for my build this winter! Keep it bro can’t wait to see it rip!
Thanks! Will do!
Oh gosh Be careful if you get on a track 😱😳😊 your mum❤️
Great job explaining everything Robby.
Appreciate you homie! You're probably like me, don't like to bother people for help so you figure out how to do it by yourself 👍
Exactly. I hate being dependent on others
Looking good Robby V! doing the cage by yourself cant be easy!
Thanks man! It's no easy task alone.

Been waiting for a new video!!
I would think you would want the hoops just touching the roof like mine and a great many other door slamers?? Just asking
I don’t know. This is the first cage I’ve done
Was the Moroso cage an eyebrow style or did it have a halo like the s&w?
I guess it was an eyebrow style, I’ve never heard that term but it didn’t have a top halo like S&w
@@RobbyVsGarage was it long enough to mount to an outrigger?
Or did it have to be mounted to the floor?
Yes it came with outriggers
Sweet I have. 2000 s10 ls 3door I want to build
Did you have to do any frame work to fit the tire your running
No I didn’t.
I need to put a cage in mine but I don’t really want to cut holes in it and it’s more of a street truck then a race truck

Yeah if I do anymore tube work I'll be investing in a notcher.

I dont have the kit number but it was the kit for 1st gen s10 and it was part of the kit. Maybe give them a call

I don’t think so but you would have to ask an nhra tech inspector

Where did you get the steering column kit it doesn’t look like you have a stock steering column in your truck
Www.motionraceworks.com
Thanks again I’m building a 2000 S 10 with a big block in it
What brand of headers did you use if you don’t mind me asking or did you have them made
Stock manifolds turned around
What’s the part number for that cage ?
By any chance can you Tell me what video editing software that you use?
Premiere pro

Dude, theres websites that you can print out a template to make your notch copes so you dont have to do so much guess work.
Too late now haha
