The way you assembled it is correct, the busing still must close off the bottom of mirror stem despite what's been installed above it. Nice mount well made.

That is one heavy duty mount! I don’t think you’ll be losing your phone anytime soon! What’s it look like without the phone? Nice job!
It is super strong. It's not very obtrusive at all without the phone in there. I repositioned it and it sits in a perfect place right next to the speedometer. Ill get a good shot of it tomorrow
You do not have to remove the mirror (and flyscreen to do it!) to install this mount. The alternate mirror mount, as well as the alternate rubber bushing that fits inside it, are split so you can simply wrap 'em around the mirror while it's attached to your scoot. Made it a helluva lot easier to install than removing the mirror, etc. But I do like the mount itself. Sturdy, to be sure, and holds my phone quite tightly. Thanks for the tip!

Oh I'm digging this mount! Definitely considering getting one now. How easy is it to take the phone part off the rest of the mount, for times when you don't want/need phone and don't want that big thing just sitting there... If it's pretty easy this could be a fantastic solution. I really am growing to hate my Quad Lock.

Haha. I'll put the swearing part in next time. It would come off in about 5 seconds, but you need that special wrench, it literally takes 5 Seconds to take it off, I just tried it again. I also adjusted it more sideways and now it sits very close to the handlebars right beside the speedometer.
I think they are better mounts which are easier to install, eg. RAM Mounts, SP Connect....
There probably are better ones. I liked that this one is all metal construction and it's very adjustable in the direction you can place it. I also liked that you don't need a specific case like the Quad lock.
