theres an incoming MG exia frame by a company name Iron Create, lots of metal parts for the frame and fixes almost all of the issues with the exia and turns the frame into a 2.0 to match the new OO kits. the metal frame will also fit all the exia variant like the dark matter and astrea
You should check out the Exia metal frame set by Tiechuang Model (Iron Create) once GMC stocks it! They retooled a lot of the frame to align with modern MG's and it would be interesting to see you review a metal frame!

Just like the RG version of this kit, the biggest letdown is that the team in-charge/designer didn't think to add a peg or slot for the GN Shield to attach to the Long Rifle.

Funny story bit, but due to the Rifle beam being made of GN Particles, Setsuna can use its shot to communicate telepathically through long distances. A little cool in a 00-goofy way.
I just built a RG RX-78-2 close ground type gundam and those hands are super finicky. Any strong pressure can pop the ball joint on the hands when fitting weapons. Eyeing myself a MG build in the future
Visually 💯 very beautiful, engineering on this kit still leaves much to be desired sure and functionally I dont know why an interceptor would use a long rifle, but wow, looks amazing
I was seriously considering this kit because I just love that up-graded GN sword, (I can't remember the actual name, there're just so many... lol), I also missed out on the repair II and after going back & forth on this endlessly, I eventually ended up passing on this one too, I thought do I really need another 2009 MG Exia (even though it is now one of favorite Gundam designs)... like it always seems to happen, after your great review and being able to get a better look... I'm kicking myself for passing on this one... especially since, now it's out of stock at my local normal GUNPLA source... and man, it was, at that time, such a reasonable price too, (that is for a P-Bandai kit) and I wouldn't of even had to worry about the shipping costs... for my own sanity, (and to avoid all these regrets), I might have to stop watching your great reviews... no, that's just way too extreme... LOL... BTW: most, if not all, of your reviews are top notch and in reality, they really have helped me decide which kits I need to build and add to my ( all ready over sized) Mecha model collection... Unpopular opinion, but I don’t want an MGEX exia unless the other 00 gundams get them. This is simply because MGEX kits have a ton of more detail than normal MG’s and I want it to fit it with the other 00 gundams. Does anyone else agree with me or am I alone? I would still take an MGEX exia and ADORE it because I love 00,but I still want a standard 2.0 to go with the others.
Agreed, especially as we have the Perfect Grade. I can't see what they'd do with it to make it extreme. Unless they focus on posablilty, of which the newer three season 1 00 gundam kits are no slouches.
Both Unicorn and Strike Freedom have PG too yet both still got MGEX. So the chance Exia getting MGEX (if that ever happened) instead of 2.0 is definitely not 0. Sooo...With today's announcement of a new Armored Core game and it's being published by Bandai Namco, what do we think the odds are they also sniped the kit rights from Kotobukiya?
Here's a quick recommendation to help the feet on this kit. So in the clip section for the toes, there's these little bumps sticking out to help grip the bar part of this connection. Those are what makes the toes never sit flat, so removing those helps this kit more reliably stand up. You may need to tighten that connection after the fact, but it still helps. Even with that fix though, this kit is still hopelessly problematic and dated. It NEEDS a 2.0 so badly.
Sadly the elbow armor of Dynames will get in the way of the arm band and block it from being attached to the arm. It may fit on Nadleeh though but I don't really want to remove it from the display yet.
I wish Bandai would come out with an MG Exia using the same basic frame & build as the Dynames/Kyrios/Virtue. It sucks that the main suit from the series is the worst build.
Yup, the people who said Bandai fixed the Exia are bullshitting. Every time I handle the Exia, I always have to keep in mind the feet and hands. Handling the GN Sword and the GN Gun just emphasize how old it is if that torso wasn't enough.
I don't understand why some people seem to downplay the issues as if having to do all the extra work to make the thing posable isn't a bad thing. I've been tempted to buy an exia over the years but every video I see of the thing particularly the GN Sword looks like a complete pain in the ass to pose. I doubt we're gonna get a 2.0 anytime soon sadly.

What I don't get is why they need to defend the flaws and make up stuff to dismiss it. People just want a new Exia kit and it is old enough to warrant a remold. That said I am more interested in "new" stuff like an MG Sadalsuud, Abulhool, Plutone, Artemie and an MG 0 Gundam or an MG Flag.
I want to say yes.... but I have Astraea Full Weapon Set on display along with the Avalanche Booster pack and tbh, I think its really fine. Its pretty solid as far as MG goes. I had both Qan(T) Full Saber and 00 Raiser and Astraea is solid enough that it can even hold on to that GN Launcher without hand. The only legit complaint I kinda accept is that, the original Exia's GN Cable on the shoulder is definitely a problem for posing, but as long the shoulder is not there, its kinda fine honestly.

Too bad that Setsuna became a Coward who never engages in melee, making GN "sword" of OO and Raiser'sword mode a Vestige, and only shooting on back like guncannon. QanT is more like Spiky and fast guncannon. Even Kira's freedom engages to melee more than Setsuna in S2.

I've seen the pre fix exia frame on the GN-X, and that kit definitely has troubles standing up. Post fix exia is a great mg, but it doesn't quite fit in aesthetically with the newer 00 mgs.
Okay MechaGaikotsu whenever you show off a GN Sword you insist on doing the whole "Use it like an upright sword" thing as if that were an official way GN swords are meant to be held, which I just fundamentally don't think is true. I don't recall a single time the GN Swords I or III were ever held in such a way in the anime, and while you _might_ be able to make a case with the GN Sword V I have never seen anyone try to pose the Quanta's Sword the way you try to pose it

RG can stand but the inner frame is fragile, MG has problems (most from lower body part) and MG can't hold the weapons
