Have you tried this with Sufix 832 Advanced leadcore? I’m about ready to break my rod over my knee. The core and/or the fluoro keeps poking out the side and they won’t stay butted up against each other and the sheath closes up so I can’t get the leader in the hole! Does this only work with Dacron sheaths?
I had the same problem using Suffix 832 (15lb test). They recommend a double uni knot which avoids trying to thread the FC or mono line into the hollow core. Maybe it could work with other lead core or heavier ones, but it never worked for me with Sufix 832 either.
I had the same experience . Really really frustrating! Now I use a uniknot with no issues. I use a very long leader and the know goes through the rod tip guide without any problems.
I have the same problem with the suffix and I’m glad to see I’m not the only one. I’ve watched at least 10 of these videos of guys threading the leader right into the sheath in 5 seconds while I can’t even get the leader in 1 cm.
@@montehibbert3606 I’ve started using the FG knot now. It takes some practice to get it right but it’s the smoothest knot to run through the guides I’ve ever used.
Great knot, but only when leadcore is new. Once fished with he leadcore 832,it is nearimpossible to remove lead out of sheath. Anyone has a trick to remove lead from used Suffix 832?
Might be suffix leadcore...used to work with cortland leadcore and mono...this setup is suffix and 10lb fluoro...tried half dozen times...it does not hold
This is great thanks--but of course we can't SEE a thing--with a bench and lighted back drop we could see what you are doing. Just the same, I think I can "hear" what you are doing, thanks.
Wow, very fast, easy, small and plenty strong! Thanks for the great tip!
Wow! Thank you very helpful

@@tuiflies5869 thanks, I’ll look that up
How strong do you think that knot is? Would it be strong enough for striper fishing?
it holds up to large salmon and I know striper are stronger, but this knot should still perform great and hold up :)

Maybe do a close up on this? Its hard to see.
I have tried this way twice and both times the leader slipped....how can i make it so it does not slip?..thanks
...if you are following the exact same method shown in this video, you should not have any leader slipping so not sure why you are having that issue?

Can you magnify it more or place the camera closer when you knot it? It wasn't showing
Have used the same knot for years now, maybe I am just a bit more cautious but we have always tied it with another knot.
It’s not easy but it works

Everything sounds great except getting the mono inside that braid is nearly impossible
Closer and slower please??
Zoom out more. How helpful
