I have 2 studs I need to replace due to incorrect lug nut sizing. How do I know which size studs to get?

Could this method possibly work on 2017 Honda Accord sport? Have one wheel stud broke & another that's stripped on driver side just happened today while installing spare tire SMH😞

If you were able to get the old stud out without trimming off an edge, was it absolutely necessary to trim off the new one? Possibly it won't pass inspection in Virginia if it has been trimmed.

I agree. Makes no sense that he could get the old one out with just a bit of interference but then felt the need to grind off the edge of the new stud. And I would not drive a car with a stud ground like that.

      @Element_lifestyle  2 місяці тому

@@devineyfajr I didn’t want to damage the thread of the new stud so grinding it will make the stud go in with not damage. I’m sure you can still install it with out grinding but just didn’t want to take the risk

@@timthetoolman5522 the old stud was shorter so it was probably easier to get it out vs putting a new longer one back in. Besides some studs come like that already.

@@MichaelSvenson Got a link for a stud that comes like that? I'm pretty much resigned to pulling the CV axle and replacing the missing stud then. The car has 150k miles on it, so new CV axles are coming soon anyway.

@@timthetoolman5522 Last time I did a stud was on a '02 outback and I'm pretty sure it had the notch cut out straight from the factory. I might be wrong about that car specifically but I remember seeing it before.

Great video! I found your channel through Stephen A. and Rosa. I have 2 CR-V's, 2003 and 2007. Both are 4WD. I was considering a lift for the 2003 CR-V for better off road performance since I live in the Mojave Desert. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You think that 1/2" impact can free my seized bolt on my rear struts (in the rust belt) or do I just cut? My Makita 3/8" impact wouldn't do it.
      Best way to cut?
Coming to the east coast any time soon? :)

How do you prevent the front wheel from spinning freely? I was replacing two studs on my '04 Honda Element but the front wheel just kept spinning so I ended up having to hit them in place from behind with a sledge.

Do not hammer on the rotor if it stuck on. Use bolts in the 2 threaded holes in the rotor and alternate between the 2 as you turn them in so they push the rotor off without warping it.
This will require qty 2 of either 6mm or 8 mm threaded bolts.

Hey guys ! First off great content!
    - I was hoping to ask you guys a question that I can’t find a answer for anywhere on the net-
I just bought a 2004 element awd ex and my dog lights don’t work. The factory button is there but doesn’t turn green when pressed and the lights aren’t going on..:( my question is - where is the fuse or relay for those factory ? It’s not by the obd terminal like some others have found - any help would greatly be appreciated -
Ask because - you guys seem to be Honda element jedi!!! :) I dig all your stuff - and hope to meet you guys at a meet up some day soon.. I’ll be doing full time living in mine once the build is done-
    Again thank you!
