The developers of this game said Black Myth Wukong will release in 2023 and they are planing this series will be multiple games in the future. The game will have over 100 different enemy types and take around 15 hours to beat. It will be a linear game and the development started in 2018. It will use unreal engine 5 and release for next gen consoles and pc.
This game has only two extreme outcomes - Surpass all expectations and become one of the top games ever or become one of the biggest bust. Storyline and character wise has always been there. It's just whether the gameplay can keep up
At the very least, the people who made this trailer know what a fun game looks like. Some creative and interesting mechanics shown here. I've seen triple A studios release absolutely boring gameplay videos where they should be showing off the best parts of what they have to offer. Ofc, an indie studio coming out with a game of this scope is almost unheard of so I won't be holding my breath in the meantime.
We have already seen some of the planned gameplay where Sun Wukung can turn into an insect and fly around to spy on others. I get that this was in the very first trailer and things may change around a bit - but according to those gameplay bits I expect that this will be more than just boss fights, but will also include some elements of exploration. Personally I am very excited for this game but yeah, I'm gonna wait for some actual gameplay material before doing anything. Remember that you don't need to pre-order a game, you can always buy it after it has been released and properly reviewed.

If they wanted to expand their games world and go over various mythologies and create titles like Black Myth: Heracles, Black Myth: Montu, or Black Myth: Neit and they all have this souls like approach to their design? To people who may not know about the battle in 4:00, this is when Wukong invades the Heaven, beating the crap out the army and the strongest Gods from Heaven, only defeated by The Great Buddha. This is pretty similar to Kratos, when he destroys the whole Olympus. This is one of the most iconic moments from the novel "Journey to the West". Fun fact: Goku from DBZ is inpsired from Wukong
Fun fact WUKONG is still worshipped in Hinduism as Hanuman there are humongous statues of him in India all over the place there are also humongous temples of WUKONG in Fujian China although in Chinese they don’t call him WUKONG they address him by his title the great sage who ascended to heaven

I sure hope so, because so were EA/DICE fans when they saw BF2042 trailers. They paid $120 for an absolute dumpster fire. But this looks promising, either way I’m gonna refrain for 3 months after it’s release to see what people truly think and feel about it
Engine is good idd, but it takes a decade to make a rig what can run it lol. current consoles (ps5 and xbox) not gonna be able to run it, cuz they can't even handle current games at 4K. Need to use performance modes to get 30 fps otherwise it will run 10 ..

I have been a fan of the Monkey King since i watched Monkey Magic as kid even made my own Ruyi Jingu Bang staff to fight off monsters in my back yard. I am beyond ecstatic that this is coming to life in game form. absolutely cant wait!

I really hope this is as amazing as it looks. I mean we've seen so many unique bosses, enemy types, and landscapes that I worry about how this will all be structured. Is this a seamless journey through a mystical world or is this going to broken up into smaller vignette-style levels? Is this game nothing but unique boss battles? I really hope all my fears are warrantless and this turns out to be one of the all time greats!

Probably it'll be like souls game, open area with corridor levels in between them sprinkle with mini boss and the big bad boss at the end. Which is good imo, if they know to make their twist of journey to the west interesting. I will always go for smaller but jam packed with unique/special things than have to deal with big but bland, slog and stretch out to incoherentness. BUT if they have the balls, talent, resources and go with elden ring route, i'm more than happy to hear it, but then again they're an indie dev soooo yeah. Just hope for the best and always keep the expectation in check.
@Levan Vaginashvili Eh they show us a full boss battle gameplay before. And it play nothing like a DW games. But more like a mix of DmC and Souls. You need to dodge, block, do boss gimmick and stuffs. That last section of the clip might be at the very end when you are fully upgrade and have to go into the heaven to finally take revenge. That's why they throw a bunch of heaven soldiers at you, just to give you the epic feel of monkey king wrecking havoc in heaven like in the myth. It likely not what happen for the majority of the time and enemies only attack you in small numbers with proper AI not just sandbag for you to hit like DW
@Levan Vaginashvili I'm fine with the dynasty warriors/musou battle gameplay or section honestly, hence why i said they have to make it interesting. Make it meaty, make it impactful, make it bombastic, make it bone-crunchingly satisfying like god of war/monter hunter world combine that with musou combat gameplay and it would be amazing in my book. That is if they really gonna add musou gameplay to their game. Because the 1 vs 1000 setting would fit Sun Wukong so well, since Wukong not only a god, he's a VERY mischievous, very powerful, very stubborn god. I mean dude has ransacking the heaven and hell alone just to do whatever he pleases.
If they actually pull this off it will be talked a out for years to come. As someone who ran around the backyard with an old broomhandle...i mean magic staff, and pretended to summon clouds, imitating Masaaki Sakai's 70's Monkey Magic character, if they somehow manage to capture that level of imagination with what is one of the greatest stories ever told, it will be one of the best games world's of all time.
It looks absolutely stunning. I'm not too worried about how they'd structure the game though as they can make it Shadow of Colossus-like without worrying too much everything else.

Just an honest opinion. I think despite everything looking fantastic, I feel the gameplay may actually become repetitive based on the lack of diversity or strategy, more of just button mashing. Which is fine if that’s for you, but I had hoped we’d see other aspects. Nonetheless I do hope this game does well! It’s always great to support smaller companies in achieving their dream and recognition!
I believe you can actually steal weapons from enemies you defeat and use them as well, I believe I saw something like that on one of the first teasers.
I really hope this game shines next year. 2023 is gonna be a big year for a lot of games coming out You have RE 4 remake, Marvel Spider man 2, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League, Legend of Zelda, Alan Wake 2, Street Fighter 6, Starfield and etc This game is something else. It's gonna be on Unreal Engine 5, but i really hope the gameplay is gonna be smooth when it comes out. No bugs or glitch, or anything

Every time there is new footage of this game there's always something new, no repeat gameplay, no repeat cutscenes everything new and it all looks unbelievable .. hope the actual game lives up to all of these clips they've shown because it looks like an incredible game.

Looks great but isn’t our character’s move weirdly slow. Just imagine tap r1 button repeatedly and watch the video, it can feel unresponsive when you play and that’s bad. Combat feeling is the main thing in fromsoft games and that’s what people worship them. I have no proof but I’ve got a bad feeling about this, I hope feels more polished when the game out.

Something fishy about this game. The graphics are too good for this gen. Enemy count are so many and still the levels are detailed like that. Gameplay so smoothe despite a lot of things going on. It seemes this game needs another 20 yrs to be released in this state. I just can't believe a game as good as this can exist at this age.
boy you could say the same for battlefront 2 (EA) Battlefield 1, Doom eternal the list goes on. This game can easily render it but graphic wise, probably need a strong pc to get the cinematic look to the fullest. Edit: lets not forget how good the graphics were for God of War 3 at the time of its release way back then
The visuals look amazing, the character designs look cool, the animation style realistic, the fighting mechanics look engaging and detailed and seems to play like god of war BUT just like god of war, the attacks get repetitive in the sense that for the same attack, the camera moves in the same exact way, the camerawork is the same, the angles are the same. It's a very cinematic gameplay and that's good but it doesn't have a lot of variety especially since the weapons are the same, just one, throughout the game. It is doing what god of war did and I cannot say better or worse because its not out yet but i'm betting on worse because GOW is just a masterpiece. It looks worthwhile to play nevertheless. There is a high degree of skill required to play so that is very good, just my type of game.

Man, Unreal Engine 5 graphics are oustanding. Hoping for great games on UE5 in the future.
Engine is good idd, but it takes a decade to make a rig what can run it lol. current consoles (ps5 and xbox) not gonna be able to run it, cuz they can't even handle current games at 4K. Need to use performance modes to get 30 fps otherwise it will run 10 ..

@@yobro2796 Only game what runs ok is Elden ring so far for me. Most of sport games are real pain to play gameplay wise and horizon zero dawn had same problem. Just very slow and unresponsive gameplay.
I have been a fan of the Monkey King since i watched Monkey Magic as kid even made my own Ruyi Jingu Bang staff to fight off monsters in my back yard. I am beyond ecstatic that this is coming to life in game form. absolutely cant wait!

I really hope this is as amazing as it looks. I mean we've seen so many unique bosses, enemy types, and landscapes that I worry about how this will all be structured. Is this a seamless journey through a mystical world or is this going to broken up into smaller vignette-style levels? Is this game nothing but unique boss battles? I really hope all my fears are warrantless and this turns out to be one of the all time greats!

@@acs1018 I’m tired of open world, every game that’s coming out is an open world nowadays, I want a more polished and well structured game, even if it means making it more on rails.
Probably it'll be like souls game, open area with corridor levels in between them sprinkle with mini boss and the big bad boss at the end. Which is good imo, if they know to make their twist of journey to the west interesting. I will always go for smaller but jam packed with unique/special things than have to deal with big but bland, slog and stretch out to incoherentness. BUT if they have the balls, talent, resources and go with elden ring route, i'm more than happy to hear it, but then again they're an indie dev soooo yeah. Just hope for the best and always keep the expectation in check.
@Levan Vaginashvili Eh they show us a full boss battle gameplay before. And it play nothing like a DW games. But more like a mix of DmC and Souls. You need to dodge, block, do boss gimmick and stuffs. That last section of the clip might be at the very end when you are fully upgrade and have to go into the heaven to finally take revenge. That's why they throw a bunch of heaven soldiers at you, just to give you the epic feel of monkey king wrecking havoc in heaven like in the myth. It likely not what happen for the majority of the time and enemies only attack you in small numbers with proper AI not just sandbag for you to hit like DW
@Levan Vaginashvili I'm fine with the dynasty warriors/musou battle gameplay or section honestly, hence why i said they have to make it interesting. Make it meaty, make it impactful, make it bombastic, make it bone-crunchingly satisfying like god of war/monter hunter world combine that with musou combat gameplay and it would be amazing in my book. That is if they really gonna add musou gameplay to their game. Because the 1 vs 1000 setting would fit Sun Wukong so well, since Wukong not only a god, he's a VERY mischievous, very powerful, very stubborn god. I mean dude has ransacking the heaven and hell alone just to do whatever he pleases.
If they actually pull this off it will be talked a out for years to come. This game is almost too good to believe and a true next gen experience 😎👌🔥♥️👏 glad to see them finally letting the gen start(they keep holding it back with old hardware restrictions(though I do get the shortages of new consoles and large player base of last gen)can't wait to see more of black myth 😊👍

As someone who ran around the backyard with an old broomhandle...i mean magic staff, and pretended to summon clouds, imitating Masaaki Sakai's 70's Monkey Magic character, if they somehow manage to capture that level of imagination with what is one of the greatest stories ever told, it will be one of the best games world's of all time.
It looks like you start off as the being, “Sun Wu Kong”, and play through to become the God “Sun Wu Kong”. Which is just dope

Just an honest opinion. I think despite everything looking fantastic, I feel the gameplay may actually become repetitive based on the lack of diversity or strategy, more of just button mashing. Which is fine if that’s for you, but I had hoped we’d see other aspects.
Nonetheless I do hope this game does well! It’s always great to support smaller companies in achieving their dream and recognition!

I believe you can actually steal weapons from enemies you defeat and use them as well, I believe I saw something like that on one of the first teasers.

Every time there is new footage of this game there's always something new, no repeat gameplay, no repeat cutscenes everything new and it all looks unbelievable .. hope the actual game lives up to all of these clips they've shown because it looks like an incredible game.

Looks great but isn’t our character’s move weirdly slow. Just imagine tap r1 button repeatedly and watch the video, it can feel unresponsive when you play and that’s bad. Combat feeling is the main thing in fromsoft games and that’s what people worship them.
I have no proof but I’ve got a bad feeling about this, I hope feels more polished when the game out.

boy you could say the same for battlefront 2 (EA) Battlefield 1, Doom eternal the list goes on. This game can easily render it but graphic wise, probably need a strong pc to get the cinematic look to the fullest.

Con diferencia el juego que mas altas expectativas me ha generado en mucho mucho tiempo, espectacular.
The visuals look amazing, the character designs look cool, the animation style realistic, the fighting mechanics look engaging and detailed and seems to play like god of war BUT just like god of war, the attacks get repetitive in the sense that for the same attack, the camera moves in the same exact way, the camerawork is the same, the angles are the same. It's a very cinematic gameplay and that's good but it doesn't have a lot of variety especially since the weapons are the same, just one, throughout the game. It is doing what god of war did and I cannot say better or worse because its not out yet but i'm betting on worse because GOW is just a masterpiece. It looks worthwhile to play nevertheless.
There is a high degree of skill required to play so that is very good, just my type of game.
actually if the very early gameplay is still in place a few years ago it shows that you can acquire the Boss's weapons.
Dev team confirmed the OX Boss was just in celebration of the chinese new year so I hope we get something just as cool.
