    If you want to have a faster internet/transmission rate between the adapters, you need to pair your adapter with your modem via WPS button, in order to clone the WiFi name + the password. It works 10x faster since I have done that.

    In 4:33 you said "in the same circuit", does it mean this will not work if not in the same circuit?

    • @TPLINKTECH
      @TPLINKTECH  2 роки тому

      Correct, now same circuit means the same Main circuit. So as long as the adapters are powered by breakers in the same panel they should work.

    I am not satisfied with the ethernet performance of this product. It disconnects a lot. Am I missing anything?

    • @TPLINKTECH
      @TPLINKTECH  5 років тому +2

      Khaled, there are many variables that can affect ethernet performance. Typically poor ethernet performance is either due to interference on the power line or how many Hops there are in your electrical panel between the two adapters. Try using the tpPLC app to see the connection rate between the two adapters. and contact support if you have any further questions as they can help you determine the best course of action to resolve or improve the situation.

    • @MD62383

      The adapter runs the internet through the electrical wire in your house to the other device. It's great because the signal is more reliable.

    • @TPLINKTECH
      @TPLINKTECH  2 роки тому

      That means that the connection between the PLC adapter and the computer is there but there is no internet signal being delivered. This means that either 1. The PLC adapter is not linked to the other adapter. You can confirm by looking at the adapter and looking to see if the HomeLink light (looks like a house) is lit. If not try to pair the adapters. 2. The PLC adapter near your router is not physically connected or has a problem with the connection to your router. Make sure the ethernet cable is working and is connected to the router's LAN. You can confirm this by the Etherent light being lit on this adapter.

    Can you use the "adapter" as an "extender" if connecting to an existing network?

    • @TPLINKTECH
      @TPLINKTECH  3 роки тому +2

      These have to be used with at least 2 units. One unit connected to the router via ethernet and then the extended or remote unit. They cannot act as range extenders though it is a separate AP that communicates through the powerline to the router through the base unit.

    Hi. Currently, my router is connected to the 1st unit extender. And the 2nd unit is connected to my tv. I’ve been thinking can the 2nd unit extender connect to another router point? So instead of only 1 unit get the benefit of the extender, multiple units can be connected as well. Is it possible?

    • @TPLINKTECH

      You can add additional PLC adapters to expand the coverage to other rooms and devices but only one unit can be connected to the router.

      There are several factors that would account for performance with the product. Things like noise on your powerlines, the distance between the two node and even the quality of the router and service. They all play a role in performance.

    • @TPLINKTECH
      @TPLINKTECH  4 роки тому +3

      The wireless adapter of a powerline kit is more like an AP than an extender. It sends the traffic from clients connected to it through the powerlines to the base unit located near and connected to your router. From there the traffic goes through ethernet to the router and out to the internet. Unlike range extenders it does not need to be with in your router wireless range

    • @TPLINKTECH

      the only way would be to filter everything between the two device (powerline adapters) through surge protectors (power strips with out protection will not work). If this doesn't help then its likely not an interference issue and is likely a line issue. Short of replacing the powerline which is unlikely the adapter would need to be moved.
