You both have been through so much at such a young age. I totally get it. I'm glad you both are back to becoming friends and you both can sleep in the same bed and co-exist for the boys. That is truly so mature of you both. I think now that Ezrah is home, things will start to get easier. I think joint therapy will help too. The trauma you both have been though. The things you've experienced. Things you have seen. I can't imagine. I pray both of you can get into a better place, as it seems things are on the right track. And if it's meant to be, I hope you and Brax will be together again. If not, I think you both are wonderful people and wonderful parents and that won't change. God Bless you all!

My husband and I had our medically complex children several years into our marriage. I don't know if we'd have survived as a couple if it had happened when we were significantly younger and still dating. People don't get how traumatizing it is to have children in the hospital long term. Constantly bracing yourself for the news your child isn't going to make it. I felt so many feelings for so long I became numb at some point. It's hard.

Becoming parents is insanely hard on relationships, whether you are married or not. Add in THREE medically complex kids and it's no surprise that your relationship was put on the back burner. My husband and I have just one kid, who was a preemie but not medically complex, and we went to marriage counseling 2.5 years in because it's HARD. Thinking about you and Braxton and I hope your relationship, whether that is friendship or getting back together, gets to a place you are both happy with. Happy but separate parents are much better for kids than unhappy together parents.

Relationships difficulties are very common with multiples and medically complex kids...it's a LOT to handle. I'm glad you guys are having a healthy coparenting relationship and communicating. The boys are well loved and they'll see their parents working together and that matters so much!

I’m a nicu nurse and I have so much admiration for parents like you guys who put your kids first and do the best you can. We see parents at their worst and most stressed and vulnerable and that is a serious strain on relationships. In the end, your kids just need to feel safe and loved and you guys are doing exactly that! And I’m with you… pumping is the worst lol 😂 you’re doing great mama!❤

Had a 32 weeker in 2015 7 weeks in NICU and he came home unable to be flat with a feeding tube and the strict feeding schedule. For 5 months my husband was just another set of hands who I saw for maybe an hour a day. Survival mode just takes over when you have preemies and or medical kids and once that storm passes it's like oh! I forgot you were here. Glad you two can put the boys first and be amicable with each other.

I’m super glad to hear your big medical bills are covered by your insurance. My neighbor had only one baby in the NICU and she said they are still paying off medical bills 8 yrs later!! And I think you should definitely pursue NICU RN as a career! You could be such a support and comfort to others since you walked in their shoes already.

New to your story and I am so happy to be following and rooting you along. You are inspiring to ALL moms and you have done a fantastic job embracing motherhood. As a RN myself, hands down you have the smarts, personality and strength to be a NICU Nurse when that door opens for you. Praying that your goals will become reality, for your family to be strengthened and for the boys to continue to get grow stronger every day! 🙌🏻

I think that was very wise of you to let Braxton move back in with you. Your sons need allot of time/care right now...and having their father under the same roof will be very good for your children, and it should help you out with the children as well. Many couples grow apart and int ime find their way back to one another. If that happens it would be great: but I wish you the best regardless of that. You are a terrific mother...Keep up the good work...Your boys are so precious 🙂

I’m at home with my 2 months old , he came out early at 33 weeks and was at the NICU for like 2 weeks. It was draining for my husband and I. He’s home now, and we are still trying to have a routine and trying our best to at least have some us time. It’s hard, and I can’t imagine you guys with 3. You got this 🎉

Thank You so much for bringing up going back on meds. I think most people think you take your first pill and you feel much better. When in reality it can take weeks for them to work & they are not a cure, they just help take the edge of it. And also they can make you feel worse than you originally felt before they start working. I think you’re a brilliant mum & advocate for mental health & for navigating break ups, so both parents feel comfortable around each other. And because it’s amicable the kids aren’t affected. Love your family, sending big hugs to you all xxxxx

I would have checked out of the relationship too. You give your ALL to your sons and there is nothing else to give!! A romantic relationship in itself is already SUCH a time commitment and involves so many sacrifices. Once things calm down with the boys’ health challenges, then maybe you can explore a romantic relationship again. I know you have to be SO exhausted with all you are dealing with everyday to be such an incredible mother!!

Honestly I respect you guys so much for working together for the kids & not bad mouthing family members. We are not so far removed from when people who were disabled were hid away from others. The social trauma from that bleeds into our generations now & it makes me sad. My sister has severe CP & she’s always been nothing but my sister & my best friend. We even got separate rooms when I was little & we didn’t like it. We had to go back to sharing rooms because we were so so close. We also have sticky situations with family members being around her. I can’t even IMAGINE thinking about excluding her. I can’t do it. I can’t think like those people. I respect y’all so much for being honest about everything while also not over sharing & upsetting everyone…. Yet also being factual about who is around the boys.

In one of your pre-Christmas videos, you said Ezra’s going to need hearing aids. There are times you call his name and he seems to respond which makes me wonder if he still needs them? Keep on keepin’ on! Sending loads of love from South Texas.

Such a great question! He has mild hearing loss in his right ear and mild to moderate in his left but only on one pitch (low pitch) so if I speak in a higher pitch he’s more likely to hear me and respond. He does have hearing aids right now actually but they were fitted for him in the nicu and sadly they keep having issues where they won’t stay in and they screech. He needs a new mold so we are getting one later this month or early next!

The good thing you have on your side is youth! Your young you have a lot you can still do. I know a lot of people think 60-70 your over the hill but I retired at the age of 58 from a great career and started a new lucrative business. We have traveled since our 3 girls were very young. You will adjust to their disabilities trust me. Remember a lifetime partner is so much more than having a sexual relationship it’s more about the family and your partner being friends and having fun together with a goal of going out of town and taking your kids with you. You and Braxton will find each other again as you do your life. Your right breast feeding is your own decision but I won’t do it again. That’s my opinion Having 3babies and going threw nic time and postpartum is way so much it is a lot of mental crap and your doing great! Very proud of you guys trying life together. Do your life and Braxton will do his whether it be together or not. Please read you will love medical because you will read a lot.❤

Hey do what works for you and your family. No one can tell you what to do. I mean they will anyway but it's silly to tell someone else how to live their lives. Thank you for sharing.
