Fantastic! Makes me wish I wasn't 90, but I am. Our family went from tenting to class A motor home in 50+ years, and all four of our children loved it.

Well-designed and functional, all without compromising what you really want in a home. (Like an oven! And good sleep! V important!) Definitely borrowing some of these ideas for my van, so thank you for sharing! Happy travels!
The propane tank isn't in a safe place and you need a propane detector, as RVs have. The tank should be in a sealed area and vented outside or the tank located outside as RVs.
Totally understand the concern. However mounting the tank outside wasn’t an option, for various reasons. And a cabinet with a hole cut in the floor wasn’t either due to its location. You have to do the best you can with what you have, right?? And yes, I agree on the propane detector, that’s something that has to be purchased. Thanks :)
Thank you, its helpful to hear this. We had previously heard when installing the CO2 detector that it should be close to the floor. However, we are quickly learning from other helpful people that it should be higher. Planning on changing it this weekend! Thanks again!
@@paxwallacejazz = incorrect Carbon monoxide is not heavier than air - in fact it is slightly lighter as CO has the RMM of 28 whereas air is slightly more than this. It is therefore almost neutral density. However in a normal room, thermal convection current dominate transport of gases in a room.
@@paxwallacejazz our fire department tested a lot of CO detectors and made a pamflet of where to hang them...I surely hope they know what they talk about...
Yes, we are always super careful with them....gotta work around what you have in such a tiny space with windows! Thank you for caring, we appreciate it.
@@Snowstead Maybe you could get a couple of small tension rods, hot glue the bottom of the fabric to create an insert and have the curtains closer to the windows (away from the stove) but you can easily slide them open and closed.

Love your van home. LOL at pillow covers, I use mine for blankets and towels, but never thought about sweaters. Sometimes I just amaze myself by just missing a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Everythings about van life is interesting to me, except the toilet and shower part. I pee and poo a lot, because i drink a lot. Well i live in tropical country, maybe would be different if i live in cold area
Hahah!! It’s like if you were out in public and you had to go to the washroom....You just manage to figure it out! Plus there is a compost toilet in the van. As for showers, family and friends, public recreation centres or gym memberships :)
I totally understand you because i fealt the same untill i saw soooo many vanlife videos on different ways to do an inside shower. Plus the option of going in a gyms, there should be no problems there. Plus, your in the tropics. You can have an outdoor shower witch is even more easy to manage. As for the toilet, i saw a video of a familly of 5 or 6 living in a bus. They had a composting toilet or nature's head. With 6 people using it he said he had to dump the solids like 2 times a month. So imagine if your alone...
Very pretty and practical van build. I like that you put your heritage and style into your van. I cant wait to see more of your vidoes so I subscribed.. Be safe and great travels.
Hi Logan, I forgot to mention the pillow cover for sweaters, I have extra blankets and extra sheets and towels in all of my extra throw pillows as well as the ones for the back of my couch which is a fold out bed. When I changed out the cushions for the couch I change the width of the bed so I didn't have to let out the couch to have my bed. The table also let down for a bed as well. Over the cab is another bed that pulls down. So it would sleep 6. We put new carpet, new cushions, recovered the tabletop and counter top. We love the old girl as she is the 73 model Winnebago. She is a beast! Those were the days when they built things to last! It does look like she needs to be painted with peace signs and daisies! Again safe travels to you and yours!
You can also use a toaster oven to cook with. In my RV I went to the Dollar Tree and got Readi Board near the stationary dept which I fitted for each window and the fan has a velco attachment for that so I can close it easily for winter time, and open in the summer. I have been in my 2000 Pleasure Way van since July 17th 2019 and stay warm. I am plugged into electricity, because problems with water in my home. If you put plumbers antifreeze into your lines, you can save any water winter problems. Since you do not use the water again, it also keeps it from freezing.
This is really cool, I ran expedited freight with a van but have given a lot of thought to living in the van and being free to roam the country, or maybe the Canadian provinces, when I retire.
We also have a 26ft straight truck which could be converted, but not as economical as the Sprinter Vans. Where did you come up with the layout for this van? It is so neat and orderly. Being able to really live in a tiny space means you can get to things you want when you feel like reading, or working on a puzzle.
Honestly it was because finding a place in New Hampshire to do the install was tricky and this guy is used to installing them in large 18-wheelers and that’s what he ordered. It is a bit larger and has more of an output but still fit under my passenger seat perfectly! And the monitor is the same as the one you have. Question: does your heater turn off once it reaches your set temp when you have it running continuously? Does it kick back on by itself?
Emmett LeBlanc cool! Sounds like it’s working for you then! You see lots of people with the d2 but then other swear by the D4!! Answer: the heater runs full blast till it reaches the temp I have it set to then kicks on after that. I usually have it set on it’s timer for 12hrs at a time and adjust based on that. So yeah, is usually always running...,mostly on a low setting but it’s quite intuitive :)
Good job. I lived in a small van and gave it up because it became life on my knees. CO detector needs exposure to breathing space. Just mount it on a wall. Propane tanks can vent almost at random, especially when hot. A leak could be deadly. It can be in a sealed and insulated interior compartment vented outside. Where it is could work with a well sealed door. Much better to have propane outside. A propane detector is a really good idea. Wool is a less flammable material than cotton or poly for curtains near a stove top. Refrigerator exchanges heat with atmosphere, it should be vented very well or in the open. If it fails try blowing it out with compressed air without spinning the fan at high speed. There is no filter and they collect dust. Round off enough on the table so slender people can get in and out of the bench seats. Be careful with the electric (?) heater in a semi-closed space. There are ususally warninings on the heater and in the instructions. A volt meter will consume a little current. Add a push button to turn it on to save the loss. Overall a really good job. I love the curtains. Hope they are flame resistant. Too many people don't vent enough with propane appliances.
Nice layout. You might want to use something else besides dish soap in your grey water. Stinky bacteria loves soap. Especially blue Coloured soaps. You did a great job on this van design. Thanks for sharing.
Youre so cute! I really loved your chill down to earth vibe and to the point video! Id love to know more about that toilet. And also ive wondered how safe I would feel in a van with all the windows but you said that even with the lights on the blackout curtains keep you safe, rad! Thank you!
My favorite things were the different little door knobs and those pretty variety of cushions. Plus the tiles. It's touches like that that make your van seem so personalized and homey. I too would have to have heat in my van. Makes it more comfy cozy. :)

So much storage!! ❤❤❤❤
Well-designed and functional, all without compromising what you really want in a home. (Like an oven! And good sleep! V important!) Definitely borrowing some of these ideas for my van, so thank you for sharing! Happy travels!
Awesome, thanks! Hope some of the ideas help you on your way :)
great camera. I like her energy. and hair.
Thanks so much
It's a beautiful van! Very well laid out and functional.
Thank you very much :)
Carbon monoxide detector needs to be out in the open
agreed! many people have let us know, were on it! Thank you :)
I love how practical and organized your van looks. Very clean and neat which would be a must for me.👍
Thanks Sarah....love things to be organized :)
"Scissors..."
I know, is that totally necessary?? Lol - but sweet
Lol! I was wondering if anyone else caught that too. So funny.
I love love love all of your storage, oh my goodness it just goes on and on I love it, very nice.
Thanks :)
Thanks for the tour! I'd say this has been the BEST YET in terms of retrofitting a van for Van-Life that I've ever seen on youtube.com!!! GREAT JOB!!!
Wow! Quite a compliment! Thank you so much! all the best to you :)
Cool build but your carbon monoxide detector should be 5ft off the ground. It won't work in it's current location very well.
Thank you, its helpful to hear this. We had previously heard when installing the CO2 detector that it should be close to the floor. However, we are quickly learning from other helpful people that it should be higher. Planning on changing it this weekend! Thanks again!
It should be higher indeed. On a distance of 1 to 3 meters from the source. Also, make sure it isn't very close to your fan/a window that can open.
Listen CO carbon monoxide is heavy so it flows along the floor or ground
@@paxwallacejazz = incorrect Carbon monoxide is not heavier than air - in fact it is slightly lighter as CO has the RMM of 28 whereas air is slightly more than this. It is therefore almost neutral density. However in a normal room, thermal convection current dominate transport of gases in a room.
@@paxwallacejazz our fire department tested a lot of CO detectors and made a pamflet of where to hang them...I surely hope they know what they talk about...
Omg the magnet stopper was exactly what i needed when my kids was young. I live in Canada and never see that.
Hahahah we’re in Canada too! 4 years in and it’s still going strong
Please be careful with those cute curtains being so close to your stovetop flame....those would go up in a nanosecond. Please be careful....❤
@@Snowstead what you can possibly do is get plywood and a flame retardant covering and stand it up, Like a litte wall while you cook where you can ensure the curtains do not interfere? I don't know I am just so excited about my transformation
Love your van home. LOL at pillow covers, I use mine for blankets and towels, but never thought about sweaters. Sometimes I just amaze myself by just missing a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! So funny beacuse I've never thought to use them for towels! Looks like we both traded ideas haha! Safe travels
That’s the size of a small apartment
totally haha!
Jeremiah Mescudi that is the size of a small bedroom in most homes.
Love the clever upgrade to the fan and other stuff you and dad did. First class!
Right on! Its a game changer
"Female" lol
I can't get Friday Night Dinner out of my head now 😂
Had to google that hahah, never heard of Friday night dinner! We watched it and a good laugh! :)
Bench storage, great idea @13:45 Also slide out table is excellent. Smart: Store clothes in pillow covers.
Thank you! Glad you liked the ideas :)
The pictures (stickers/decals?) on your upper cabinets look amazing and look like they help you find where to put the magnet. Brilliant!
Yes they do! Thank you
So you do have a beautiful dog. Adds to the security. Thank you for sharing the joys of van life.
Table is ingenious and bed looks luxurious. Great set up.
Thanks so much....glad you like it.
omg that pillow/sweater hack is genious!
Glad you love it! - Hope it helps in your future :)
I Don't Usually Like Strange Colors On Vans. Your Has Stolen My Heart. Love it
Great build! 👍 Can't wait to get ours done now!
camper vibe sooo glad you liked it ✨ good luck on your build!!
Very pretty and practical van build. I like that you put your heritage and style into your van. I cant wait to see more of your vidoes so I subscribed.. Be safe and great travels.
Thanks for subscribing Toni!!! We are so happy to have you here :)
Thanks for the great tips Carol-Ann :) Best of luck to you!
You did an amazing job on your van build and the toilet and thank you for the air vent trick.
One of the best van conversion layouts i've seen, thanx for sharing!
Wow, thanks!
Wow this is very well done! Enjoyed your energy, thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words- doesnt go unappreciated :)
Nice build ,great commentary , good photography , thank you
Thank you too!
I'd love to see what you make for food throughout a full day!!! Its fun seeing the variety of options you can choose living in a van!
Love that idea! Will totally have to take you up on it! Thanks :)
Love the cushion cover/sweater idea. Awesome use of space which I haven't seen before haha...love it :-). Beautiful van indeed.
that is an amazingly awesome use of space. very cool van for sure.
thanks!!!
Great build! Love the heater cubby. I just got a d4 heater installed into my ford transit. It is a TOTAL gamechanger
Heck yeah, it changes the way you live hahah! Love my espar SO much. What made you go with the D4 VS D2? Just curious :)
Good job on the van. Like the curtains you made for the windows front area. The fairy lights are are great to have if you need a little light.
Thank you!!
Lovely built van. Greetings from sunny Jamaica.
thanks Lawrence
Nice layout. You might want to use something else besides dish soap in your grey water. Stinky bacteria loves soap. Especially blue Coloured soaps.
You did a great job on this van design. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you! Will do!
Youre so cute! I really loved your chill down to earth vibe and to the point video! Id love to know more about that toilet. And also ive wondered how safe I would feel in a van with all the windows but you said that even with the lights on the blackout curtains keep you safe, rad! Thank you!
I LOVE your sweater/pillow idea!! GREAT idea!!
Thank you! 😊
I really love the details on this van and that Portuguese vanlife license plate makes me proud ahah 🇵🇹
Some of the best ideas I have seen. Thank you.
Thank YOU Trisha! Much appreciated :)
I really love the efficiency and tidiness of this build. All the decorative accents can be added later, but the bones are clean and practical. 😍
Glad you like it! :)
My favorite things were the different little door knobs and those pretty variety of cushions. Plus the tiles. It's touches like that that make your van seem so personalized and homey. I too would have to have heat in my van. Makes it more comfy cozy. :)
I totally agree! Thanks for your comment- always love hearing peoples fave parts. Mine is the heat for sure
@@Snowstead you're welcome. :)
Absolutely fantastic, well made and organized, congratulations Logan it's a winner
Thanks Ken, that is a super nice thing to hear. All the best to you!
