I need a daily fix of Aurora. She is something different in every way. Her range of songs, her lyrics her constant reinterpretations and the way she sees the world. Stick to her live performances and try her masterpiece concert at the Nidarosdomen.
AS to her movements, they are unconscious, a part of her and yes, it was her in Frozen 2.

First time I heard Aurora and this song was in the game Sky: Children of the Light. By the end of reliving the memory for this song, I was a sorry, weeping mess. Since then I've gone down the Aurora rabbit hole and have enjoyed every, single minute!

I promise you: If you go down the Aurora rabbit hole you won't regret it. If you do so stick with her live performances if there is one.
And yes, she's the Frozen 2 "siren" call and she has also made her own studio version of the Frozen 2 song "Into the Unknown". (just a trivia :-) )

You are correct that Aurora was The Voice in Frozen 2.
She was 19 here even though she looks younger, and she is 27 now. She is writing all of her own music and lyrics, and has released 3 albums and 2 EPs so far. She finished her touring for now, and is working on the 4th album.
This was early in her career and she was still nervous on stage. She has the ability to completely get lost in the music, and the movements are not deliberate. During the years she got more comfortable on stage, and are instead dancing and moving purposely on stage.

The gesturing and body movements during songs is referred to as the Baroque singing style. It was used in the Renaissance times whether she uses those motions because of that is debatable could be partially I feel it’s more like she’s living her songs as she sings them.

Aurora always provides movement in her songs. Sometimes it’s spontaneous like this, and sometimes it’s planned. Many of her performances include dancers who perform in tandem. This song is typical of her early performances, but she has never lost her authenticity which is her cornerstone.

Aurora is my all time favorite artist, she is 27 now and was 19 at this performance. She writes the most thought provoking dark subject matter songs that she shines a light on in the darkness, many of her sad songs have an upbeat tempo so as to lift you up, I like to think of that has a hug from her so you aren't so sad with the lyrics, she is untouchable in her songwriting, IMO. She is a self taught multi talented artist who is performance art when you watch her live, the pure clarity in her voice is balm for the heart and soul. Aurora's music is vastly different, you cannot put her in a box. She calls her songs her children, she is very emotionally attached to them, her song writing started as self therapy, to get the things out that were bothering her. Her movements are an extension of the song and she really lives in the song when she performs. So the only lessons she ever had were approximately 10 years of dance, she is a great dancer too, she taught herself how to play the piano when she found one in the attic at home at the age of 6 years old. Anyway, she has been writing songs from a very young age and has a large discography for you to explore. She is not your typical mainstream cookie cutter artist, hoping to see more Aurora on your channel soon. Thanks for a great reaction.

This was a very nice reaction, and the music just runs through her body, she IS music😍
    This was 8 years ago
    She’s 27 years old now
So she wrote this 16 years ago 👍
At that age she didn’t quite understand the meaning of the song, but as she grew older she knew that home meant home to her parents❤️
It’s an important song for her
This is the song that inspired Billie Eilish.
She thought that this is what I want to do whether it goes anywhere or not👍
Aurora is a Norwegian singer/songwriter/dancer and music producer
She started writing music at the age of 6 when she found an old electric piano in the attic, she added lyrics (English) at the age of 9
She’s self taught when it comes to singing and playing piano, and her family didn’t know about her talent until she was about 14.
She didn’t even want to become an artist, but fortunately for us her mom convinced her that she could help people with her music👍
She’s my favourite artist, and she’s such an amazing human being.
    Could you please react to
“Through the eyes of a child” live at Nidarosdomen (cathedral in Norway) 2017
This is also an important song for her
“The Seed” live at the HAIK concert 2019
    Another important song for her

Aurora is a actually a trained dancer. She wanted to be a dancer before she decided on music. As others have mentioned, when she was younger, the nervous energy escaped in little bursts, but she still tells her story flawlessly. I believe this was the first time she had played for such a big audience. She has always been a top tier performer, but she has grown into such a graceful performer. She lives the music, and tells stories with her movements, and dances. There isn't anyone like her.

  • @Tarkus_
    @Tarkus_ Рік тому +4

Those body movements are her way of getting the message of the song out, using her entire body, not just her voice. Assuming you continue your Aurora journey (and trust me, you really should), you'll find that her expressive storytelling is just who she is. She's very honest and authentic, and she doesn't care if she comes across as quirky. Heck, us fans are lovingly called Warriors and Weirdos. She absolutely embraces individuality and being yourself.

Well, I guess you know a lot more about Aurora now. So I will just recommend that you check out privately these two other live versions of this same song, if you wish:
Runaway is the first song of: Aurora: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert - 2015: ua-cam.com/video/evBgLWQwAFA/v-deo.html
    AURORA - Runaway at 101.9 KINK | PNC Live Studio Session - 2022: ua-cam.com/video/4bbuR-qnFlg/v-deo.html
There are many other versions, from similar to way different, as she sometimes reinterprets completely her songs (mood, tempos, instrumentation), especially in specific concerts and live sessions. You can find some acoustic concerts, or with symphonic orchestra, or with cords and a choir, or her usual band with some synths... so it's often interesting to check out (privately) different live versions of the same song. I hope you'll dig at least a bit more her musical world, as it is a various and beautiful one.
Anyway, nice reaction to Aurora, this astonishing and endearing norwegian artist.🙂👍

Very nice 😊Her albums are great, and just getting better IMO. Good music videos as well, but there's something special about her live. Very emotional (her own words) and puts a lot into her performances. She's great with her band, but also performs with orchestras and choirs etc. "Through The Eys Of a Child" Live from Nidarosdommen is highly recommended. Some of my favorites are just her with a guitar or piano, though, and "Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) from this same concert is a must watch. Quite a bit darker than this one...

The actual video for this song has 680 million views which kind of sums up how amazing she is,I fell down the Aurora rabbit hole 7 years ago and she immediately put a lasso around my heart,I’ve had the pleasure of seeing her live in concert 3 times and seriously she is without doubt the best live performer I’ve ever seen and trust me at my age of 67 I’ve seen scores of artists live,as a songwriter her catalog is amazing writing songs from the age of 9 in fact I think you should react next to her live performance of a song that she wrote at 9 it’s called Lucky and her performance of this song at her Christmas concert at the nidarosdomen cathedral is a masterpiece that I promise will move you emotionally like never before,I could on forever writing about this amazing artist but trust me it’s a journey that you will never get off,so my friend enjoy your journey for as Auroras mother told her your music is a medicine for the world, let it be your medicine, stay safe and as Aurora would say “ let love conquer your mind” kind regards from an old warrior from the UK.

Aurora was born in 1996, so she’s 27 now. (Unfortunately) she’s got her movements under control now, so she’s not that interesting (in my opinion) to watch, but she’s still a great artist. Her earlier performances (2015-2020) is what I prefer to watch.

This is a huge rabbit hole you have come upon, and very beautiful. Aurora is another Norwegian Treasure (Angelina Jordan the other) who is brilliant, unique and a true artist. I would highly highly suggest any of her songs from the Epic Nidarosdomen concert (2019 I believe) at the Ancient Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway. Everything about this concert from the Cathedral, the acoustics, the orchestra, her band, the choir, the fantastic camera work....well everything is simply Epic. You shall be happy you found Aurora.🥰🥰

Jordan only sings cover - and it’s not right to put her in the same category as Aurora. Instead I would point out another great brilliant musician in all aspects- Susanne Sundfør. She has been making music for centuries and has inspired new female musicians in Norway and abroad. Listen to Sundførs last album « leikare ljod» - Alosha and many many more of her music. Aurora is one of a kind❤️

Hi. :) I'm for the first time on your channel. Great reaction! Aurora is very unique and it's great song.
Can you react to something what probably no one except me will recommend? I really want to recommend you another amazing female artist, maybe different than Aurora, but really amazing. If you can, please react to Kokia and her song "Gematria" live from Layers ~Lights and Shadows~ concert 2016. Kokia is japanese singer, songwriter, composer, arranger and producer, she making music in genres like folk, pop, indie, classical crossover etc, she also composing music to anime and video games. She has classical and operatic music education, but she not singing like that often, but you definitely can hear that her vocal technique and control are insane. In her music she using many back vocals all recorded by her, also she can sing in few languages like japanese (of course), english, latin, italian, french, chinese or irish. Gematria is way of writing words with using ciphers, for example in english alphabet "A" is "1", "B" is "2" etc. This song is inspired on buddhist mantras and lyrics are in not existing language (more correctly it's mix of few languages like japanese, english, italian, french etc, I thing she also used gematria there) because, like she said, emotions are the same in all languages. :) For me personally, this song is like journey, like story, even if you can't understand words, you can feel everything, amazing song and performance. I hope you will react to it. :)

Thanks for an absolutely amazing 1st reaction to Aurora. She is my 2nd favorite singer after Angelina, and both of them are Norwegian. But I swear that I am not biased at all. They are simply in their own lanes completely IMO. Her mannerisms are very spontaneous and something that you will get to see a lot if you react more to her. Which you should.
On that note I just thought I'd give you one of my favorite performances by her. The song is called "Through The Eyes Of A Child" and was performed in Norway's oldest and most beautiful cathedral, Nidarosdomen. The cathedral dates back to the 11th century, right after the viking era. Here is the link, it may very well be the most beautiful performance you will ever see, not gonna lie : ua-cam.com/video/ncG9zTzsisE/v-deo.html While I'm at it I also want to give you the link to another of the performances from this concert. The song is called "Lucky" and was written when she was 9 years old. She put the final touches on it a few years later. It still is one of her most popular songs I think : ua-cam.com/video/AmTiqR2_VAw/v-deo.html
Aurora is highly intelligent, and it clearly shows in her lyrics. I am looking forward to see if you choose to react more to her. I really hope that you do! In the meantime, have a wonderful weekend and take care. Much love from Norway ♥♥♥♥♥

Hello and thank you very much for this fine reaction. If you want, AURORA will often impress you, enchant you, put you in a sad or happy mood and will definitely make you think a lot.
AURORA wrote the song when she was 11 years old. She is now 27 years old. The concert was recorded in 2015 when she was about 19 years old. She became famous with this song.
Yes - AURORA is the siren call in the song "Into the Unknown" in the Disney movie Frozen 2.
    From the same concert:
    - Murder song (5,4,3,2,1) - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert - ua-cam.com/video/vh0SWTVwXxw/v-deo.html - the saddest love song I've ever heard
I recommend a new artist to you - AURORA. She will pull you into every song and captivate you. Your life will never be the same.
AURORA (Aurora Aksnes) was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. She is a singer, songwriter and producer with a style all her own.
AURORA's songs always have a strong message. Often the messages are not very clear either. They can be interpreted so that many people can relate them to themselves. Her movements when singing are extraordinary. This isn't a dance. This is her special way of expression. You can also say that she sings with her whole body. Her excellent music, her brilliant voice and her movements. AURORA's live performances are a total work of art. She is often so into the song that she shakes her body or head uncontrollably (--> Murder song, It happened quiet) and need 2-3 seconds to come back.
She is capable of transporting feelings because she allows a look into her soul. Her fans call themselves warriors and weirdos.
AURORA is not entirely unknown. Her channel has over 5 million subscribers and more than 130 videos on this channel have over 1.4 billion views.
AURORA once said: People tend to believe quite quickly that something is wrong with them if they're not like the people they see in front of them
It's so sad that it doesn't take much for us to really doubt ourselves
    - Through The Eyes Of a Child (Live at Nidarosdomen) - ua-cam.com/video/ncG9zTzsisE/v-deo.html - she sang in norway's biggest cathedral - phenomenal acoustics
    - It Happened Quiet (Live at The Current) - ua-cam.com/video/9U-N6LqzdIM/v-deo.html - it's about the rape of a woman - some say - these great harmonies
    - Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen) - ua-cam.com/video/AmTiqR2_VAw/v-deo.html - the song is her way of suicide prevention
    - The Seed (Official Video - VEVO) - ua-cam.com/video/_Mc_OM5oNA8/v-deo.html - it's about the climat change, AURORAS “Earth Song”
    - Exist For Love (Official Video - VEVO) - ua-cam.com/video/7YDkrJaiCrw/v-deo.html - love song
I usually prefer her live performances. But in some cases the VEVO video is more impressive. I hope you enjoy AURORA.
There are also some cover songs by AURORA, but then she interpret them in her own way. Probably the most famous recording is a David Bowie cover - "Life in Mars".
    - Life on Mars - ua-cam.com/video/kJ095S0MmnA/v-deo.html
Three important bits of information I found from another commenter:
    1. -- In a recent interview she said "well, the last song I wrote is meant for my 7th album.” -
AURORA's latest album, the fourth, was released on January 21, 2022. She's already in the planning for the 7th.
    2. -- AURORA was a teen when she answered the question "are some of your songs related (on different albums)?" - it will all make sense when I have finished. -
AURORA has a plan and we don't know the destination yet. But it is important to know that everything belongs together.
    3. AURORA is holding back one song from every decade of her life to release those songs as the last album after her death.
    Which artist does that?
    Have a nice day and
    Greetings from Germany
