All true. Except, Icelanders (majority of them) love to bag and ridicule Americans. Almost anything that stereotypes an American. I've heard them speak offensive things in Icelandic and it's really offensive about their thoughts about Americans. I get it, there's a lot of point on why. Many are a bit snobby. Many are not like this at all but all of them have a thought of it liking Americans. It is what it is.

No McDonalds, No Starbucks, and no casinos? Am I supposed to see this as a downside?
@@ValkAuguste there are casinos but are don't have anything that showcases it being a casino but some texts and etc... also there is a McDonald in america that is called Metro basically a rebranded McDonalds
Iceland is an example of how a country should be managed. Though their politics are a bit bureaucratic, still, they focus and invest a lot in education and research that strengthens their industries in place. They have the leading knowledge in geothermal energy. Their culture is rich and goes way back to the time of the Viking settlers. Gender Equality is strong and everyone works together and United. They don't discriminate (though they like to make offensive jokes in Icelandic about Americans and tourists... mostly Americans). Their food is great and the dairy here is exceedingly too good and too clean and not many overly processed foods. Their chocolate taste really good (Sirius). The locals are friendly but in capital, people are a bit too snobby towards tourists because there's too many hotels and tourists in general and it's somewhat changing the environment of "old" Iceland and what is used to be. Still, I wish iceland is a place to be. Minus the taxes... they are very high. Medical care system is "free" and universities are "free". Their medical does lack a bit behind than other developed countries. Overall, iceland is an amazing country. Few years from now, Iceland will develop more housing and I hope this doesn't remove any of the old culture of what iceland used to be 10-20 years ago.

You should do a video about the relation of English language proficient populations to per capita income, especially in Europe.
So... you mentioned contemporary numbers, but failed to explain why those are and where they come from! How and why did Iceland manage to reach such positive numbers and scores? What made the country become so developed?
Well, it would seem that the opportunity for business development/job security is a good encouragement to learn.
small (mostly) island (or other geographically isolated) nations like Iceland or Cyprus, are tax heavens and attract foreign capital. especially if they don't ask many questions about the origin of that capital (if you know what I mean). They also don't spent alot of money on expensive things like military, because they are always protected by some other strong power. This works only in expense of other economies, of course. That's why you will never see countries like that with population more than a few million at most. It's like being the ''mafia boss' accountant'' or something. you are protected, you earn alot, you don't ask questions, and of course other people somewhere have to die and suffer, but you don't care.

Well what the video is lacking is information about our natural resources within our fishing limits. It was fish that brought us the "starting capital" to become this "wealthy".
We do not consider ourselves wealthy in Iceland. We might have high salaries but everything is expensive so your salary goes into paying a lot....

Icelandic is thoroughly Germanic with it's use of compound words. Apparently incomprehensible words, like "Landmannalaugar", become easier when the words are separated: Land-Manna-Laugar. The only unlike-anything-in-English part is Laugar (warm pools, plural). The literal meaning is something like "Land Men Bathing-pools". Same goes for "Eyjafjallajökull". Broke up it becomes Eyja-Fjalla-Jökull (Island-Mountain-Glacier).

I understood that to mean compared to 2008 when Iceland and its banks were hit hard by the recession

Iceland looks like one of the most beautiful countries though to be honest. It reminds me of the Faroe Islands.
There's something cultural in Nordic countries, people just don't tend to be corrupt and with no one in general taking advantage of others they can plan things out smoothly.

There are casinos, just with the slot machines.. and there are also bets allowed, so if saying that Iceland has no casinos was to emphasise the lack of hazard as one of the reasons why this country is so reach - than it’s not the true. People can loose money that way in Iceland.

some of the “facts” in the video are sketchy at best. Iceland’s economy is barely diversified, it has almost no secondary (manufacturing) industries, Fishing and Aluminium are largest, everything else is Tertiary service jobs

Immigration to Iceland is comparable to that in the US and Germany. I guess that you are more interested in being xenophobic than educated on facts however.
@ Legal immigration maybe, I am referring to the Dinghy's full of convicted criminals who invade our country at the rate of 500 per day.
Less famous countries get less immigrants
@ I don't think it's comparable at all. Most of the immigrants that settle in Iceland come from Europe. Only a very small percentage of immigrants that settle in America come from Europe.

Iceland folk should cash in on their GDP per capita moola, purchase first class ticket to third world country and make it Raaaiiiinnnn like P DIDDY and RKelly at the club. So much money enough to bring TUPAC back to life, now that real Frankenstein party.
