Sana and Isak have a great relationship. There's actually a great scene in Season 4 where they sit and talk about their differences and their commonalities. It's a beautiful scene. You should watch it.
The editing in this episode with the blackouts between Isak being asleep and waking up to see what Evan was doing throughout the night was just PURE GENIUS! It is his exact perspective and it perfectly makes the viewer feel the same utter confusion that he is feeling at that point. It’s such a simple but perfectly executed technique. You feel and relate to him on such an intense level.
Even says Sonja is ‘controlling’ and like a ‘babysitter.’ I think Even doesn’t feel like an equal to Sonja in their relationship, and instead feels like burden because of his bipolar disorder. Sonja basically dismisses Even’s sexuality as a side effect of mania, which is so horrible and invalidating. When Sonja says Isak is just a ‘sick idea’ Even has right now, it really speaks to stigma about being LGBT and having a mental illness. Even knows Sonja will not leave him, and he has convinced himself Sonja is the only person who will put up with his bipolar so they stay together. But Even has real feelings for Isak, and ultimately, lying to Isak has just hurt him… but tbf Isak did say he didn’t want ‘mentally ill people in his life’ so Even tried to mind over matter it and stop being mentally ill in order to be with Isak. Which yeah, can’t hide that forever buddy 💀
You guys didn't miss anything specific. Even is pansexual, and he's not coming to terms with his sexuality the way Isak is. He's liked boys before, which is something we learn more about in season 4. He's just dealing with being bipolar, and Isak is dealing with falling for a boy, coming out to his friends and family, and now worried that Even is manic and what that means for their future. It is a lot! But that's what makes this series so great.
Remember the scene when Isak and Even talked at the gym and Isak said he didnt want mentally ill people in his life since his mothers situation? And then Even tried to back off from him and kissed Sonya at the party.... well, now all makes sense Also when Isaak said "only you know how you feel" to Even and him saying "I never felt like this before" its important given that he is manic and sometimes devolop short obssessions over things. I feel like he was confused too over his feeling for Isaak at first and Sonya tried to push on him the fact that it was just an episode (like she said to Isaak at the end of the episode)
23:43 y'all are so right, the end of this episode really plays neurotypical standards against heteronormative standards. in sonja's mind, even's not well, and being with isak is an assumed reflection of that "nontypical behavior".
“He is DEAD to me!” (30 seconds later) “…okay, he’s not dead.” Yeah, this was completely out of left field. It really takes the story (again) from where you think it’s going to go, to something much deeper than what you thought you were dealing with. And it brings up so, so many interesting conversations that society in general should have (and especially with next ep) and did have because of this. There are literally stories about people who, because of this story line in this Norway series and in some of the other ones, actually found out they were undiagnosed bipolar. Which is, SO amazing.
19:14 the continuous black screen is symbolic of a half-sleep Isak. he regained consciousness some time and fell asleep. also it gives the experience of being nervous, uncomfortable and curious about what actually happened to the audience like Isak felt in the scene. Just briliant Also if you're following along from season 1 I think Isak texting his parents is the most likely thing he would done. because his mother had a mental breakdown and his father left home. Isak chose to live alone so he had no contact with them.
Your faces when Even starts having is episode was literally all of us. I remember seeing that scene for the first time the amount of emotions I had in those minutes is astounding. This show is so well done. Nothing is done by accident. Just amazing writing. The next episode has my favourite scene of this entire show, Literally only about 4 words are spoken in the scene but it is perfect.
I think now that we know Even has bipolar disorder, it (as well as other things) explaines how Even suddenly became more distant after the lockeroom scene in episode 5 when Isak is talking about his mom and how he's "desided that his life is better without mentally ill people around him"
Speaks volumes about just how dramatic and absolutely absorbing this episode was, in that I don't think I've ever seen Josh swear so much! Listen to the lyrics of the song playing as they get into the lift at the hotel. Also, I understand Sonja was upset and angry, but the gleeful look on her face as she essentially tore Isak's heart out and ate it, made me want to slap her in to the middle of season 4!
@@jacquiehahn4910 yes she does but I love the explaining the character does in the French version. My dad has the same mental illness and I missed alot of information in the original. I love love love it but the French go a little deeper and also with the conversation between the boys in episode 10.
Love to see you both wearing snapbacks to watch Skam haha. Even being bipolar explains his behaviour until now, and his relationship with Sonja. It's not healthy at all, but she is the person that has been by his side since they were 15, probably experienced his diagnosis with him, and really knows him. That can make her a bit controlling, as we've seen. She thinks his love for Isak is just a symptom of another manic episode (in season 4 we understand why). Even has taken the risk to be with Isak in spite of his fears for change, and in spite of isak's comments about mentally ill people (episode 5, right before everything goes down). This is going to be really hard for Isak, but also for Even. They both have to deal with their own traumas and fight for their relationship. I think the show does a very good job at foreshadowing some of the most important points for the plot. When you watch it a second time you understand everything better. Also...I love that conversation with Sana. I love how in this show people make mistakes and learn from them, and apologize for them. That also proves you can have your own beliefs without disrespecting others'. Let's not forget is that conversation that gives Isak the strength to tell his mom about Even. I just love this show. Hope you're enjoying the journey. Loving these videos.🥰
I like how the going up in the elevator is a symbol for being on cloud 9 and feeling like your on top of the world. The fall down is very hard. And it probably feels like being naked being vulnerable for isak too, after opening up to even and letting those feelings out.
Minor detail, but one that many people miss: Twice in this episode Even references the movie Pretty Woman (the making breakfast scene and the marriage talk in the suite). So he isn't babbling quite as much as some people think he is.
It's nonsense to Isak and Evens missing cues that him going off the rails is coming off as impossible to conversate with, which totally happens in manic episodes.
Really would like to see your reaction to Druck. It is quite different to skam, to the point where you still get shocked by twists. It is also the first version I watched and I loved it so much.
Hehe, I hated Druck. The Matteo character was kind of polarizing to audiences, I think. OTOH, to give credit where credit is due, it certainly was a different take on SKAM. _My_ favorite version, after the OG Norway, was SKAM France. All the feels with that one.
I also disliked Druck. It removed one of the most integral parts of the Isak character's journey. The main topics of this season are sexuality and mental illness and removing one of them while still maintaining the Isak's character background is lazy writing imo. I am not against the other topic they choose instead but it feels like they did it only for the sake of being different.
I actually like that it is different. I like Skam France, but it kind of feels like watching the same show again but in a different fond and more dramatic.
this show is AMAZING, the acting, the writing of the scripts, and due to the camera work and the improvisation which idk if yall know but there’s a lot of improv in skam and that’s also one of the reasons the show feels so natural, not forced or fake at all, u feel like u are actually in those conversations with the characters it’s crazy, so so good!!! i love that with s3 julia the director and creator of skam, made it inspired by romeo and juliet, i think it was beautifully put and mixed with the story, ita genius. i also wanna say that i’ve watched the whole show and it rlly has its own unique vibe, skam is a very special little show…
I was waiting for this episode!!! I still remember the first time I saw it, especially since back then we had to wait for the next episode! We finally understand Even a little better, even if it's still a little unclear. I really like the part with Sana, their conversations are super interesting.
Sana and Isak are such a beautiful friendship! Honestly my favorite and they have some of the best discussions in season 3 and 4. Just respectful and interesting and dropping facts and just caring so much for each other. It’s really really lovely.
i remember watching this friday clip live and the ominous music in the background starting in the hotel while they ate and i just felt so much anxiety....the sound design and editing the cuts to black to show the passing of time and heightening in the tension was so well done
7:28 i see it more like determined. And they only have contact over text and as you saw in the text history, not often. I don't see anything strange about telling him he is bringing a boyfriend over text. 13:22 I think by text especially to his mother is perfect. It gives her time to process and think before answering and him not having to be faced with it. I think text can be the best in some situations.
PEOPLE COMMENTING, PLEASE TRY NOT TO GIVE SPOILERS. Don't give hints or speak on people's behavior or feelings that isn't fully clear at this point in the series. Remember that many things we know and can pick up on when we rewatch it was not clear at first until later. Let these guys react and watch it without expectations on what's coming, let them be surprised.
I look forward to your reactions each week Thank you. When Even left Isak’s flat after episode 5 when they spent the night together he left a note on the pillow. That’s what Isak was looking for in this episode . Even keeps referring to a parallel universe as it’s a way for him to be together with Isak, even if not “real.”
What? I have NEVER come across reactors that thought Sonja was right. Some might have been on Emma’s side on the funny gay comments in Ep3 but Sonja is just a b*tch.
I'm so surprised that people doesn't pick up on the foreboding music? Its sampled from The Weeknd song that plays in the elevator, and contimues through the entire night at the hotel. When it continued after the song ended I knew something bad would happen. 😱😭 You're missing out on so much context since you haven't watched the first 2 seasons! They're so so so good, you really should watch them even if you don't make reaction vids!
I LOVE your videos...i wait for them every single week!!🤩 I just wanted to say this without giving a spoiler. The director herself didnt mean to connect mental illness with sexuality. Even, the person that is manic here, is already in terms with his sexuality. The issue about the last scene is that Sonja has a prejudice about manic people that they cant control their own emotions/feelings because of it. She is basically calling him crazy for starting a relationship with Isak, saying is not real, thats where her controlling part stars bc she doesnt know at all what Even is feeling and yet she is speaking for him, telling Isak that Even doesnt have feelings for him. Anyways, the main motive here is to show this misconception that people have over bipolar people, thinking they cant control their life, emotions, feelings.
The reason Isak specifies Even is a guy to his dad is because boyfriend/girlfriend is apparently the same word in Norwegian (something like "my beloved" I believe). So if he didn't want it to be ambiguous he needed to specify. He'd basically had close to zero contact with either parent besides getting rent from his dad so this was Isak deciding if he was going to deal with both parents at once again (after months apart) it was going to be as himself.
the term for a romantic partner like boyfriend/girlfriend in norwegian is "kjæreste". It's a gender neutral term:) I will say it's more correctly translated to "my dearest". "my beloved" translates to "min elskede" - which romantic partners normally might still say to each other, but not use refer to themselves as a couple (where they would say: we are "kjærester")
@@amyseaden9069 well generally yeah. I can't think of many examples right now tho. We also have two main ways of saying "I love you", with somewhat different meaning/intensity - which I really like:)
Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for, when you find out the reason behind Even's strange behaviour! Since you're pointing them out, I find it hilarious that I missed so many of Even's red flags the first time I watched this a couple of years ago. I'm gonna blame it on youthful ignorance.
"how many isak and evens do you think are lying in bed like this, right now?" is a line I think about so often because there literally were 7 of them in different countries and I love it
22:52 - You love this... Because this show makes you THINK. :) SKAM Norway is SO good from the first season to the fourth season... You really should watch them all.. Isak's gayness was laid out in the first season and the actor was cool with that. (also he has stayed out of the prying eye of "celebrety" which is good!)
I think isak asked sana about religion and homosexuality because he was worried about how his mom would react. sana's apology here gave him the courage to finally say the thing that was the reason he's been so distant with his parents. like, he doesn't live with his parents because of his parents' drama. but he hasn't been -talking- to them because (he's mad at them and) he's afraid to talk to them about this all-consuming thing that's been going on in his life. afraid they'll abandon him. again. and like others have said, he sees his parents so infrequently that waiting for the next time they see each other might be too long. and I think isak's internalized misogyny won't allow him to risk the vulnerability of coming out in person. just my interpretation. 🤷♂️✌️
After Isak and Even got together, when Isak talked in the locker room about how he felt it was better not to keep ‘crazy people’ close to him, Even’s expression and reaction were so ambiguous. Watching that episode, it broke my heart because I feel like Even must have thought, ‘I’m not a good match for him,’ since he struggles with his own mental health.
i feel like a lot of people are throwing comments @ you all having the 20/20 hindsight of having seen the show already... and all I will say is that after you watch the last episode of this show, EVERYTHING will make sense from Evan's POV. And you will want to immediately go back and rewatch, and yes - every Isak+Evan interaction will be so, so different w/ Evan's perspective! 👍😩👍
Trust me, for us watching this in real time, this did not happen fast. We were so ready for their big date and had to wait for hours and days to know what was gonna happen next. After each clip we had long discussions on the skam blog page, and it was so nice but so stressfull as well.
This season really comes full circle for Isak's character with regards not only hus sexuality but also mental illness. You haven't seen the first seasons yet but the whole reason Isak lives at the flat with Eskild and Linn is because he didn't want to deal with his mother's mental issues. After his father left them, she had a breakdown but it is implied she was never really fully mentally stable. The mental illness storyline is as integral to Isak's charater and storyline as his sexuality. This is the main reason I don't really like one remake that changes this. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Some of what you missed from previous season setting up Isak's season was in Season 1, the main character was Eva who was dating Jonas (the best friend who was so cool when he came out) but Isak had a crush on Jonas and helped sabotage their already messy relationship, we hear small bits about Isak having trouble at home, his mother is mentally ill and his father abandons them. In S2, Noora was the main and living with Eskild and Linn, we don't see much of Isak but there are small hints, his mother's health is declining and he's living alone with her and frequently looking for places to crash when he can't be safe or comfortable at home. At the very end od S2, we find out he was invited by Eskild to sneak into their basement to sleep when he has nowhere to go. When Noora moves out with her boyfriend in London, Isak takes her place. I hear it's not uncommon for teenagers to move out of their homes and stay in apartments, they can apply to specific public schools that have better classes to offer in specific fields, Sana, for instance chose this school for the science classes. she actually lives further away, near the school Even originally went to, and some students move to apartments that are closer to their school of choice. Even chose to move to this school for reasons you find out about S4 which is Sana's season.
Sana is great. Looking forward to her season next, as I haven't seen it yet. They have great moments together with Isak I liked the build-up to Even's secret. You get so many red flags and start to wonder what's going on, until it escalates.
I loved your reaction as always but I actually disagree that the show glosses over sex. Its meant to be that Isak and Even first experimented in the last episode and this is the emphasis on their first time with the hotel room. Even has obviously had a previous relationship but Isak is 17 and discovering all these things for the first time with Even so it makes sense everything is slower
17:41 *Alex and Josh* : "There are some nice moments in the series, but then there are other things that get glossed over..." and discussion ensues. *Me* : "Agghh! Stop talking! Turn the episode back on!"
The belgium version of skam season 3 WTFOCK does deal with sex more and in my opinion in a very good way. If you don’t want to watch that whole season as well (i love it tho) then watch the ending of episode 7 and 8.
I had a similar experience coming to terms with my sexuality and receiving a diagnosis of bipolar both at 21- This is the second show I’ve seen where they depict lgbt+ relationships with a bipolar partner (Shameless being the other) and I’m glad they address it. I’m very curious to see if Isak will have the maturity and patience to be a support for Even but I want the gays to succeed so 🤞
Back when Isak first had the discussion with Sana about religion, noticed he did so after receiving religious messages from his mother, who he thought would be against homosexuality due to her religious beliefs. So in a way, the new conversation with Sana opens up the possibility that his mother also might accept him.
I really sympathize with Sonja here. She's been with Even for years, she saw him finding interest in many new things and then completely losing interest some time after. I can understand why she would be like "oh what now? 😩" when Even suddenly decides he loves a boy he met last month.
I think not only was what Sonja said invalidating of Even's sexuality but also pretty ableist too as if Even doesn't know himself and can't tell what's real or not concerning his own thoughts and feelings because of his Bipolar disorder
I've always felt that Sonja gets a bad rap. Imagine your boyfriend is cheating on you...and then the person he's cheating with calls you in the middle of the night to come rescue them. Any of us would be furious. Then there's Emma...so many SKAM fans hate on her, as though Isak didn't lie to her and mislead her TWICE... Then there's Eva....who Isak totally betrayed in Season one; he turned her life upside down, and just walked away from the mess. I'm a gay man myself, and I think the bigger story here is that being in the closet causes us to be very manipulative and "snake-ish". I just wish SKAM could have covered that more, because too many fans overlook that and simply hate on the girls around "Evak" because evak is "so cute" and therefor anyone against them must be the enemy.
You really have to watch it again after this for yourself 😂 just to see al the signs. This show is so so good! Everyone already pointed out the locker scene so I'm just gonna say I love the Sanna scene ❤ their bond is so cute, it gets better in season 4. And the acting of the actor playing Even is so freaking good in this ❤ For me it was very interesting what you said about the sex scenes and being not very real. For me it always felt a bit sexy but also awkward very much teen. In the French version its way more intense but also less real for me. (But damn so sexy) I think the Belgian version has a more real shower scene. They even waited with filming that scene because one of them wasn't 18 yet 😂 but also it's not only about representation around homosexuality but also mental health ❤ I loved your faces in the hotel scene btw 😂😂 it's such a rollercoaster
i came out to my parents via email while i was countries away... it was very much a coping mechanism because i thought they might freak out and i didnt want to be confronted with that without the safety of having the time to choose your replies very carefully. so i always thought it made sense for isak, given his history with his parents.
Forgive me if this was already mentioned. Regarding the representation of sex, it’s not just that they play high school kids, the actor who plays Isak was a high school kid when this was filmed. He was a student at Nissen, the school where they shot the show.
Man I wish you would have started from season 1. So much of your reactions are misreading things and misunderstanding characters, their relationships to each other, their situations and past and family and personalities etc. etc.. Also even just how other relationships within this friends group have looked with typical teenage feelings (hormones) and falling fast and hard and everything being so big. You gotta keep in mind this is teenagers.
the way i love skam for putting out two powerful & social points in this series and fuse them. is just so hard to treat these kind of themes, first the sexuality of 1 or 2 characters that obviously don't show up the same way. 2nd, a mental illness is a hard spot to treat. you gotta be careful with all the stuff you're showing and they do it perfectly. Lovely reaction guys, greetings from a queer // neurodivergent person
Yeah, Skam Belgium which is called WTfock and Skam France depicts the sex scenes more explicitly than OG skam. So there are adaptations that...do it "better" or in a way y'all might enjoy more. I agree with y'all vague sex scenes that shy away from the intricacies aren't...amazing sex rep, IMO. And i feel the same away about super vague "softcore" hetro sex scenes as well.
Yes, I think Sonja is engaging in what so many straight people do when confronted with the fact that the person they love is gay. They want to explain it away, call it a phase, and Sonja is using Even's mania as her explanation for his turning away from her to Isak, and like so many confrontations over this, she is weaponizing her flimsy theory to hurt and drive Isak away. She also has the arrogance to think that only she can love Even as he needs to be loved, to love him with full knowledge of his mental illness while Isak is naive and ignorant and will probably not have the fortitude to manage a relationship with Even. She may even think that Isak isn't good for Even, that he could harm Even through his inexperience. On a certain level, though she is too cruel, a high school puppy love probably can't manage this.
@@rbosole5361 There is probably an element of wanting to make it clear that he is dating a boy but there are many women who now have names that have been typically associated with boys (like James, Charlie, etc.) so Even could be a girl. If I understand correctly in Norwegian he is saying he has a romantic partner not a boyfriend or girlfriend so it would would make more sense to point out that Even is a boy versus in English saying that I have a boyfriend and Even is a boy’s name doesn’t make sense. Don’t think the translation’s on Skam’s are professionally done so there are some translation error here and there. Think in general Nordic languages don’t differentiate sex as much as in English.
@@amyseaden9069 Norwegian here. Translating that text from Norwegian to English is really awkward and can't really be done perfectly without something being lost. Firstly, the universally used Norwegian word for "boyfriend/girlfriend" - "kjæreste" - is gender neutral. Directly translated, it's something along the lines of "dearest one" - perhaps "sweetheart", "special one", or "significant other" might be more fitting equivalents in English. Secondly, I can't really think of any gender neutral Norwegian names off the top of my head. Names are quite binary. Even is definitely a masculine name, there's not even the slightest bit of ambiguity there. So when Isak texts his father: "I'll bring my new [significant other]. His name is Even. That is a boy's name", he is being sassy and sarcastically blunt. This is the first time he "comes out" to his dad, with whom he is already angry and resentful for leaving his mum (and Isak) because of her mental illness. It's the first real thing he's said to his dad in a long time. The text is almost like a power move for Isak; a "no-more-shits-given"-ultimatum kind of thing. The entirety of Skam, the culture it frames and the way it uses language, is extremely rooted in its country. I don't envy the people translating it, because that's a nightmare task; the translation sadly becomes a shell of the original, with how much of the meaning and linguistic context has to be sacrificed. I think the translator(s) did as fine a job as can be expected, especially considering it's not done by professionals. (PS: While there are definitely examples of more gender neutral terminology in our language, our nouns are actually gendered, kind of similarly to languages like Spanish or French, and unlike English. For example, the word for "dog" is masculine, the word for "clock" is feminine, and the word for "house" is genderless. The way nouns are conjugated depends of their "gender". It's a bit tricky though, as we actually have two written languages, and the degree to which nouns are gendered depends on which one is being used.)
dude I was literally thinking the same thing when I was watching this episode for the first time. I really thought Even was going to kill Isak or something and that Sonja wanted to warn Isak he tried something like this in the past and then I thought he was maybe on drugs, always going back and forth between the two. I mean the way the tension was build with Even acting progressively strange and kinda creepy, later with his very irritating and out of context monologue and all this talking about death and the way the screen always cut to black I really thought something even more terrible was going to happen👀
You guys must watch Sana's season (4) after this! You'll see a more mature 'Evak' 🥰 BTW! The LGBT+ and sexual representation is different in season 2 through Eskild 😉
I see some votes for SKAM Druck, if you choose to watch another version based on the OG, Norway. But I vote for SKAM France Season 3 next, if you can find it. Talk about "all the feels"; SKAM France delivers those in spades.
7:12 can't read his texts ? what is he actually texting -would be helpful if uploader had expanded the scene screen size, or added the boys text to the main screen for us to read
I dont think that Sonja is homofobic per se - she is just lashing out because the fact that Even is gay makes him off limits to her. She is in denial about Even and that their relationsship has come to an end. She is though totally out of line with what she is saying and how she blames Isak- ' cause he is blindsinded about Evens mental health issues. Its not his fault that Even have not been up front with him and that he is now out at the deep end.
Sana and Isak have a great relationship. There's actually a great scene in Season 4 where they sit and talk about their differences and their commonalities. It's a beautiful scene. You should watch it.

I loved that in the French version they made the sonja character a little better in episode 10 I think. ❤
@@GirlLovesFairytale in the original she does redeem herself in Episode 9.
The bipolar is the aluminium leg! It's amazing to rewatch episode 3 and reframe that talk
I like how the going up in the elevator is a symbol for being on cloud 9 and feeling like your on top of the world. The fall down is very hard. And it probably feels like being naked being vulnerable for isak too, after opening up to even and letting those feelings out.
Your SKAM reactions are the highlight of my week! Verrry excited for this:)
And the marriage talk includes something that comes back again in an outside-of-episode video that should be watched after season four. IYKYK.
I totally agree about Druck. Its season three is far and the way the best of the remakes - none of the others even comes close.
I disliked Druck also. Loved SKAM France.
It’s really really lovely.
you just had a burger!.. oh, bum!
also, I remember the hype around it when the episode aired, my bipolar friends really appreciated it in 2016
i remember watching this friday clip live and the ominous music in the background starting in the hotel while they ate and i just felt so much anxiety....the sound design and editing the cuts to black to show the passing of time and heightening in the tension was so well done
I think text can be the best in some situations.
sana and isak are my FAVE besties from SKAM
PEOPLE COMMENTING, PLEASE TRY NOT TO GIVE SPOILERS. Don't give hints or speak on people's behavior or feelings that isn't fully clear at this point in the series.
Remember that many things we know and can pick up on when we rewatch it was not clear at first until later. Let these guys react and watch it without expectations on what's coming, let them be surprised.
THANK YOU... I really wanted to write the same thing!... I would have been Pissed, if someone had spoiled what is about to happen!!
I really appreciate that you both understand that Sonja’s comment was out of line. I’ve seen a couple reactors who just assumed Sonja was right 😒
What? I have NEVER come across reactors that thought Sonja was right. Some might have been on Emma’s side on the funny gay comments in Ep3 but Sonja is just a b*tch.
exactly. what sonja said to isak was so disrespectful and just out of pocket. like wtf lady? smh. :/
Alex: JEEZUS!!!
Me: my sentiments exactly.
Can’t wait for your next reaction.
you absolutly NEED to watch druck after ! (it's the german version of skam) it's quite different but it's REALLY good !!
I'm so surprised that people doesn't pick up on the foreboding music? Its sampled from The Weeknd song that plays in the elevator, and contimues through the entire night at the hotel. When it continued after the song ended I knew something bad would happen. 😱😭
You're missing out on so much context since you haven't watched the first 2 seasons! They're so so so good, you really should watch them even if you don't make reaction vids!
I LOVE your videos...i wait for them every single week!!🤩
I just wanted to say this without giving a spoiler.
Been waiting for this episode. Thanks guys.
@@bossa5933 Think I read that Nordic languages have more words that are not associated with a sex like you have in English. Is that correct?
@@amyseaden9069 well generally yeah. I can't think of many examples right now tho. We also have two main ways of saying "I love you", with somewhat different meaning/intensity - which I really like:)
Oh boy, here we go! Buckle up y’all we’re in for quite a ride!
The Raptor screech at 12:57 made me spit my drink out all over my monitor! HAHA Instant sub!
Sana is the main lead of season 4 which deals with religion and love. I'm sure you all will enjoy her season also
Finally, the moment we've all been waiting for, when you find out the reason behind Even's strange behaviour! Since you're pointing them out, I find it hilarious that I missed so many of Even's red flags the first time I watched this a couple of years ago. I'm gonna blame it on youthful ignorance.
Get your box of tissues ready for episode 9 - the best one of them all!
"how many isak and evens do you think are lying in bed like this, right now?" is a line I think about so often because there literally were 7 of them in different countries and I love it
Your reactions to Skam are sooooo good!!! I’m loving the ride!
22:52 - You love this... Because this show makes you THINK. :)
SKAM Norway is SO good from the first season to the fourth season...
14:29 - Mr Black shirt I hear you...
- I also hear you mr yellow shirt..
...
And I can't wait to see your reaction. :D
4:01 - Eskill is wearing an "Yukata".. Something I wear at home all the time. So comfy. :D
SKAM is such a good show to rewatch because you really notice all the details. It is so well written and every little detail'sthought out.
ahhh it’s here!!🥳
Trust me, for us watching this in real time, this did not happen fast.
Oh, baby Isak! 💔 This episode is insane with its' ups and downs, but the ending gets me every time
Some of what you missed from previous season setting up Isak's season was in Season 1, the main character was Eva who was dating Jonas (the best friend who was so cool when he came out) but Isak had a crush on Jonas and helped sabotage their already messy relationship, we hear small bits about Isak having trouble at home, his mother is mentally ill and his father abandons them.
I was looking forward to this episode, another great reaction. I really like it because throughout the season the signs are there.
Sana is great. Looking forward to her season next, as I haven't seen it yet. They have great moments together with Isak
I liked the build-up to Even's secret. You get so many red flags and start to wonder what's going on, until it escalates.
So glad you reached this episode.
Another great thing about Skam is this: multiple great themes
The song Hot and Cold must be written about Even!
Also, because of Tarjei’s actual age - not 18 when they began filming - I belueve they had to tone down any sex scenes to comply with laws.
Great reaction as always.😊👍
17:41 *Alex and Josh* : "There are some nice moments in the series, but then there are other things that get glossed over..." and discussion ensues.
*Me* : "Agghh! Stop talking! Turn the episode back on!"
U guys should react to druck season 3 with Matteo and David
love the reveal, it makes so much make sense
The belgium version of skam season 3 WTFOCK does deal with sex more and in my opinion in a very good way. If you don’t want to watch that whole season as well (i love it tho) then watch the ending of episode 7 and 8.
Eskild is one of my favorite caracters in Skam - he is a hoot!❤❤❤
Watch season 3 bloopers afterwards please 🙏💖💖
Love watching you two❤
Because you always make me smile😁😁😁
I love your Skam reactions! 💓
By this point Even and Sonja aren't together, Even really did end it with her already.
It's been a week...a full week...one entire week....
Thanks for having me spray my lunch at Alex’s girlish scream. 10/10, would do that again.
You really have to watch it again after this for yourself 😂 just to see al the signs. This show is so so good! Everyone already pointed out the locker scene so I'm just gonna say I love the Sanna scene ❤ their bond is so cute, it gets better in season 4. And the acting of the actor playing Even is so freaking good in this ❤
For me it was very interesting what you said about the sex scenes and being not very real. For me it always felt a bit sexy but also awkward very much teen. In the French version its way more intense but also less real for me. (But damn so sexy) I think the Belgian version has a more real shower scene. They even waited with filming that scene because one of them wasn't 18 yet 😂 but also it's not only about representation around homosexuality but also mental health ❤
I loved your faces in the hotel scene btw 😂😂 it's such a rollercoaster
i came out to my parents via email while i was countries away... it was very much a coping mechanism because i thought they might freak out and i didnt want to be confronted with that without the safety of having the time to choose your replies very carefully. so i always thought it made sense for isak, given his history with his parents.
I’m pushing for Druck next, however in Skam France the sexual representation is well done - cinematically, the passion, it’s beautiful!
Uhhh can’t wait for you to react to the last two episodes!
10:43 - Respecting eachothers.
yes .. that's it.. just respect you fellow humans and try to be the best of what you can.
the way i love skam for putting out two powerful & social points in this series and fuse them. is just so hard to treat these kind of themes, first the sexuality of 1 or 2 characters that obviously don't show up the same way. 2nd, a mental illness is a hard spot to treat. you gotta be careful with all the stuff you're showing and they do it perfectly. Lovely reaction guys, greetings from a queer // neurodivergent person
I still can’t tell if you guys like this show.
Hahaha LOVE this show
Yeah, Skam Belgium which is called WTfock and Skam France depicts the sex scenes more explicitly than OG skam. So there are adaptations that...do it "better" or in a way y'all might enjoy more. I agree with y'all vague sex scenes that shy away from the intricacies aren't...amazing sex rep, IMO. And i feel the same away about super vague "softcore" hetro sex scenes as well.
Oh bum. Suddenly the burger doesn’t matter 😂
Don’t believe there is a gender associated with the word for girlfriend/boyfriend in Norwegian which is why he had to clarify that he is dating a boy.
I think Isak is just being cocky, like we have seen in many text messages. Even is definitely a boy`s name in Norway!
TOLD YOU to brace yourselves 😘
dude I was literally thinking the same thing when I was watching this episode for the first time.
You'll see a more mature 'Evak' 🥰
BTW! The LGBT+ and sexual representation is different in season 2 through Eskild 😉
This is an important episode..

Even is not gay, though
