leave it alone brother. facts dictate, both tyson and ali were "dominated" AFTER their respective returns, more than they ever were before they left. that said both tyson and ali still did great in their non prime years. tyson went on to win the IBF and WBA titles he only needed the WBC to reunify the heavyweight championship. ali also went on to win the championship again and both fighters in my old mans opinion had their best fights ever after they had come back. we got to see both fighters heart and will, like never before i.e. after they had comeback. If it wasnt for some of the beatings the aforementioned took, we wouldnt respect ali and tyson as much as we do today. we got to see 2 fighters (ali/tyson) fighting with diminished skills, but with the heart of lions. anyways...boxing hasnt seen any good days in a long long while. even though maybe your opinion and mine are different on things, or maybe the same i dont know. i still respect that youre a old time boxing fan, watching old boxing vids, commenting with people, its all good. anyways man, good luck to you and God bless you and your family. Ali wasn’t a particularly big puncher, he wasn’t a great body puncher, but one area where Ali outshone everyone was his viciousness: his opponents could throw everything at him and he’d still be standing there. His competitiveness and spirit is unparalleled. He was ready to die in the ring before quitting. What amazing character.

You are lying! Ali was never vicious. Far from being vicious. Tyson exercised viciousness on his opponents. Ali said in an interview that he never stepped in the ring with the intentions of hurting his opponents. He said, " you know, they are fathers, sons, uncles and brothers to many people" he added, ' they don't deserve to be hurt'

Mike Tyson’s spirit was broken by Evander Holyfield twice in the ring, then Tyson quit by biting Holyfield and ending the fight. Muhammad Ali took so many beatings in his career, but his spirit was never broken: he never quit in his career even when his Parkinson’s disease was beginning to show. BlakeTheBirdMeister I think that he could beat a lot of strikers from other sports but against a high level grappler he would lose. I don’t know if he is the greatest fighter but he is up there. Remember that I said greatest not best. Watch boxing legends TV’s video on Roy Jones JR, he explains that the difference between the greatest and the best is that the greatest is backed up by facts and accomplishments such as resume and title defenses. The best is strictly what they can do in fight and how well they perform compared to other fighters. I do agree that Ali isn’t the best fighter ever.

It would be very difficult getting him down but once they get close enough I believe they would most likely take him down fairly easily. I don’t think that just any grappler in UFC’s Heavyweight division could do it, I believe if you paired him up with say Cain Velasquez he would probably beat Ali. This is because of his cardio and wrestling, but, I could see Ali staying away and picking him apart for a few rounds then landing the perfect punch to take him out.

Yes. Its actually by defying the rules of boxing is what makes one great. But first you must have natural born gifts, like many greats do. Some have terrific punching power, some have fast combos, some have an awkward style of fighting.
You take whatever gift you have and then do something different from other boxers and then you will beat most of them. :)

Sonny had injured his right knee & pulled a tendon in his left shoulder in training and his handlers filed a petition for a medical postponement for his 1st fight and were denied. By the end of the 4th round, Sonny had torn the tendon off the bone and it bled into his bicep. Sonny was in incredible pain and quit on his stool at the end of the 6th round so despite it being a great performance it was far from a fit sonny that he beat and honestly i think that prime sonny would've beat him but we'll never know .

FYI -Liston was known for being a CRUshing puncher. THAT was what EVERY fighter who fought him had in the back of their mind. Then, in the 1st fight, Liston connected squarely into Ali's body. After the fight he said it 'felt good'.. but, not that the impact felt good but that Ali then knew what was behind Listons power and knew he could take it. It was then (after he got the s*it out of his eyes and they quit burning) that Ali loosened up his elbow defense, and used his massive 'jab' power on Liston.
