- Is the Empire State Building worth visiting? We don’t think so. Instead spend your vacation at Top of the Rock. They have the best views of any observation deck in the city!
Plus, at the Empire State Building. There are mandatory photo ops that you have to do. Workers will scream at you until you do it. This place was horrible

I actually was indecisive on this part, and ultimately decided to decline it.😂 They gave me the looks.

I like my experience going to the Empire State Building. Except for being force to have my photo taken at the start. I enjoy learning and reading about the building. I guess it depends on what you are looking for and wanting to experience
Any observation deck is worth it! Your in NYC for gods sake!
ESB was one of my favorite things I did when I visited NYC. Learning about the history of the "worlds most famous building" while being inside is really cool. They also had a really amazing exhibit that collaged the ESB in pop culture into a great video experience.
Agree Top of the Rock best but do it at sunset.
You should do Empire Outlets next.
Summit One is my favorite now, it's huge and has awesome views
My friends and I were on the Empire deck in mid 1990s. It's nice to see.
At that time, we also went on an interactive ride. I think we paid separately.

I didn't skip the Empire State Building, and I was memorized. The perfect way to end my New York adventures.❤
I think you should go do the tourist stuff (if you want to) once but then find the cheap better options

Top of the Rock is the way to go for sure. you also see Central Park on the other side.
Top of the Rock? If it's all about just punching your ticket..why bother? Stock photos available better than you can take.. and if you want views..go to Jersey and take pictures of lower Manhattan.. and the go to is to take the Staten Island ferry and get pictures of the Statue of Liberty and also going into Brooklyn gets you pictures from under the bridges and from the Promenade are good spots.. from Red Hook places to snap photos..
Unpopular opinion... I didn't care for Rockefeller Center either. Top of the Rock has a gorgeous view but it was so incredibly crowded. It was $110 for two tickets around 8:30 at night. Could barely get to the edge to see out clearly for maybe 5 minutes. One of the employees yelled at my husband for moving to the wrong spot when she told him to move there in the first place. 😂
