I ran out of money and had to sell the drone haha. I'm buying another one this week though for a motorcycle ride from Saigon to Da Lat and Nha Trang. Vietnam's best mountains and beaches. Stay tuned for that in a few weeks.
My brother in law emigrated from uk to Martha Vietnamese lady. We’ve just been to visit so our children (cousins) could meet. Vung tau is far better than I remember if from 2018, but we’ll be in no hurry to come back. We’re staying at The Song hotel which is located set back from the seafront, but has almost uninterrupted views (apart from the huge construction site next door). David’s pizza was probably the best meal, we found a really lovely English breakfast place on walking street and an amazing Vietnamese restaurant on the sea front at the far end of the front beach. No doubt when domestic flights start to operate into Vung tau it’ll explode more with popularity. A best road link to HCMC would also bring even more visitors down. Oh, they need a football stadium too!
The stretch of Back Beach in the video where the flags are didn't have any trash on it but the water was a bit violent. In any case I really enjoyed Vung Tau. Thanks for watching.
Great video, most of videos are either boring, pretentious or "seen before" about Vietnam, you made a great combination of narrating and places to see around Vung Tau, keep it up!
Great video the quality is far beyond any other youtuber in Vietnam hopefully you keep up the Vietnam vids can’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers? Vung Tau keeps changing every year and getting better and better Yes the beaches aren’t the best but it is an interesting town worth visiting.Living in Saigon it is nice to get away for a day or two to get the ocean breeze. You are spot on saying you wouldn’t fly from another country to go to Vung Tau but if you are already in Saigon why not check it out . Went to Patong beach Phuket and have to say as famous around the world as it is I would rather go to Vung Tau First went to Vung Tau in 2ooo and they had the old Russian hydrofoil boats and they were lots of fun going down the Saigon river the new boats not as exciting but still better than taking a bus . If you are in Saigon on this Sunday they have a Japanese festival in 23/9 should be good fun and good content for your vids
Hey Kev, yeah Vung Tau is quite a place and I will probably return since its so close to Saigon and convenient to travel to. I really enjoyed the place! I'm in Chiang Mai this weekend but the Japanese festival sounds like something I would shoot content of - thanks for the heads up. As far as subscribers go, well, one at a time...
I like. Why are they all wearing their masks still? It seems beautfiul but a lil windy? Thx for mentioning the ferry to Saigon. Greetings from germany.
The masks are mostly for air pollution while riding in traffic. Some are still a leftover from Covid though. For a longer trip you might fly to Da Nang but this is a great short getaway from Saigon.
I recommend my family hotel Coco Homestay few steps away from Bai Dua (middle beach). I think that area is best area to swim in Vung Tau. Few steps away from beach and a popular coffee shop. Can also buy cheap coffee and coconut from the lady (Co Ha) few steps away from the steps! There is also Black Pearl bar few steps away too!. I enjoy going to 88 Beer though🤣
Never been to vung tao but my buddies live there. It looks ok but small and less nice than danang or nha trang. Im in nha trang now and it feels way more polished.
Yeah, Nha Trang is a bigger city and way more developed. Nha Trang to me feels very touristy but a pretty good city to visit on your first trip to Vietnam. Vung Tau, and to a greater extent, Mui Ne have more of a sleepy, Island beach vibe.
@@FollowBrando you know i just talked to my buddy about it and he said nha trang feels busy compared to vung tao. i lived in phu quoc and many other islands in asia i think i have to go see if i like the vibe more.
I prefer Vung Tau since I live in Saigon it's an easy drive there and I can split my time between the city and the beach. I think it's Vietnam's best kept secret.@@dennisgordon7767
@@dennisgordon7767 I have taken it and prefer the bus, which will shuttle you to your hotel when you arrive. with the ferry you have to get a taxi or grab from the landing. Cool to do once and see the saigon river and the ocean.
I went to the jesus statue in 2006,I didn't go up because the Vietnamese lady I was with had tattoos and they wouldn't let her in,I'm gutted I didn't now,ill be back though, loved vung tau,
Huh - I can imagine the guard doing that but in 2023 I was allowed entry with my tattoos. I just had to remove my hat and shoes. I guess times are a-changin' (even for the Vietnamese).
wow like a tv production. respect. i like your humor. how did you add the german subtitles? i would like to add english subtitles in my german videos. but it is a lot of work manually
Hey thanks man. I work as a tv editor so I try to bring the production value. I just do the English translation in Adobe Premiere using the transcribe tool and upload the subtitles with timing to UA-cam.
@@FollowBrando thanks. Btw, did you have the squid dish with noodles or rice or by itself? guessing the former. Good move as the sea bass was plenty to feed an army. LOL
as a Vietnamese beach city you might go right to Da Nang or Nha Trang. Both have great coastlines, beaches and seafood. Or Phu Quoc but thats an Island if you dont want to be in a city like the other two.
@@FollowBrando thanks for your reply. Looked into da nang and it actually looks a lot nicer and cleaner than vung tau? Is it true? What do you recommend as best place overall for a short stay of looking for some place nice, peaceful, relaxed and convenient to get to? Doesn't matter to me if near beach or not. Would be coming from taiwan.
Yeah Da Nang is a good choice. You'll get a bit of everything Vietnamese there - the food, the culture and the coastline. It's got a decent nightlife, cool bridges and some mountain roads. I'll make a proper Da Nang video this year. @@Chris-dw6cu
FYI Emperor Thanh Thai was kept in custody in that house by the French colonialists because he had the courage to protest against their occupation of VN in the 19th century before they deported him and his family to La Réunion Island , a French overseas territory in the Indian Ocean .
I had that habit in Vietnam and Thailand. I also got used to the hose next to the toilet haha. They are very clean and sanitary over there. Thanks for watching.

@2:30 the water at Vung Tau is so murky. That’s why I would only go there for the seafood.
The seaside vibe and seafood are great but you're right, the seawater not so much.
There are tons of trash in the sea, lol. Best way is not try to swim there either. 😂
