    Also keen how you got AN fittings on the head breathers. Torque so;utions do a kit but that is for the newer models with 2 head breathers and 2 CCV points on the block. They just heat and pop off, then freeze and pop in with some sealant. Just a bit expensive when on the older 2000 model you only need half the fittings. If you are getting a burning smell in the cabin you should be adding some sort of media or mesh into your cans and running the top port back into the Intake manifold and PCV and using the breather filters as the inlet. They cans should be completely closed and not vent into your engine bay. The oil, now supposedly cleaned from the air is sucked back into your intake pipe and PVC where it would normally go from OEM and this keeps Vacccum in the motor. You don't need an AOS, Dual Catch cans are a better setup if done properly

      You're right, I would like to recirculate the cans back into the intake but I was told if any oil accidently gets into the intake it can damage the DBW throttle plate.
      So I'm a bit worried but I believe after doing a little more research I'll be able to decide what's the best way to recirculate. The cans have a mesh element in them and I would definitely prefer to keep them rather than move to an AOS.
      Regarding the rocker cover AN breathers. I got them from a company in the UK called 'Bachler Racing'. I don't know if they still exist but if not, there are companies like 'Fuji Racing' in the UK that make a similar product.
      Hope this helps! Cheers!

    What coolant turbo swirl is that? I see a radium cap but can’t find anything from radium that resembles it. Kindly share link if possible. Thanks

    Are bigger pipes needed for single breathers like ej22 and 205 or better catch cans

    • @TheGCJourney
      @TheGCJourney  4 місяці тому

      I can’t say I’m an expert but from what I understand, you always want the hose diameter to increase as it makes it’s way to the cans and not decrease so as not to create a lower pressure point.

    where did you get both valve covers pcv connection connectors?
    how did you convert it to 90degree? factory is facing straight up using hose.
    thanks!

      The rocker cover breathers are from a company called Bachler Racing in the UK. They have -8AN ports. The 90 degree fittings are from Vibrant Performance.

    nice video! I thought the purpose of 2 catch cans was 1 can for both rocker breathers and side port crank case and the other can was installed between the the top crank case breather and PCV valve on the intake. Thats how I installed mine. I was told if the car is mostly street driving to not vent to atmosphere as it need vacuum from intake and turbo inlet to help crank case ventilation. Im thinking of buying iwire battery location. keen to see your next video and get some tips !!

    • @TheGCJourney
      @TheGCJourney  2 роки тому

      I don’t know what the best way is but this is what I was recommended to do.
      Recirculating back into the intake is a good idea and I was considering it myself but I’m not sure it’s a must.
      The EJ205 has only a side port crank case breather. I’m guessing you have an EJ207 or EJ257 if you have a top crank case breather as well.

    If you use the EJ22T you will have 2 crank case vents as well. The second one is behind the power steering pump.

      Don’t have a diagram but as explained in the video, the rocker cover breathers are joined under the intake manifold and go to one catch can.
      The crank case breather goes to the other catch can.

      even when running 20 psi i wasnt getting much in the catch can

      My main issue with them is that:
      1) they vent to atmosphere and all the fumes enter the cabin.
      2) they fill up pretty quick and start squirting everywhere on track days.
      Recirculating AOS should solve both issues (hopefully).

      @@karlogrady4907
      I could and I was going to but it is my understanding that it doesn’t do as good of a job at separating the air from the oil and that could result in oil entering the intake which could be damaging to the DBW throttle body.
