Nice work. Really complicated for my brain tho
Great video and information. Especially for LS swap and 700r guys. Thanks!
Been watching you videos from the beginning thanks for all the help you have made my build seam easy
Thanks for watching. I pray that u have a good turnout on yours.
Great Video. This made me go ahead and order one.
Everything works on mine except my speedometer
Thanks buddy. I’ll be putting mine in soon into my 87 r10
Does anyone know how to fix the rpm gauge?
Yup. Get a Dakota Digital cluster and toss the others in the trash.
Thanks for the video. You make it look so easy.
I'm nearing completion on my 76 sierra. All is going well except I'm having complete difficulty threading the oil pressure sending unit in. Old one came out easy, didn't feel like I jacked up the threads, and I can't even get the original on started. Frustratrd.. Great video though, best one I've seen on these hauges!
I don't see many of those generation Chevrolet & GMC fullsize trucks out on the roads anymore like I use to back in the day.
I agree and the demand for them is high right now. Everyone wants them.
Did you have to pin in the tachometer into the computer? Or did you run everything off the original truck harness?
The ls harness has a tac wire that runs on the 4k loop
That truck is looking great
Amy R Thank you
It turned out nice 👍
Installing the same cluster in My 1985. I have 2 buttons on mine. What's the other for?
Is this just for an LS swap or can I use this unit on my stock 83 c10?
U can use it for stock as well
Hi thanks for video. How did u get the intellitronix temperature sensor to seal without leaking? You previous video u used equus sensor.
How they working now after all these years
Like crap
@@LonniesGarage you wouldn’t recommend?
My gawd what a badass truck!!! Wish I had one like it lol hell id trade my mint show truck for a square body LS swapped, mine is a 1 owner 03 gmc Sierra rwd 5 sp manual lowered all black with 80k original miles and a folder with every record and receipt since new including orig window sticker!!! Rare truck to find one this year with LS V8 manual and such low mileage and in show truck condition
Send me some pictures on Facebook

@@LonniesGarage just sent some over
Thank you for all the videos you have made. It has helped me a lot doing my own ls swap in a 1986 k20 hopefully one day I'll be able to shear it running.
Is the gauge still working in your son's truck? I've read some bad reviews for this gauge but can't afford anything else.
They are off on the numbers and the RPM works sometimes.
@@LonniesGarage thank you for the response! I may look into getting a dakota cluster
Ok I'm confused did you go back to the inteletronix gauges? I saw a video where you swapped it back to a 90-91 cluster because of the way they worked I want to upgrade mine but want something dependable. If these are problematic I will go with Dakota digital or similar brand what would you suggest?
Yes I went back with intelltronix. I love the look of them. I've been running them for a while now and I'll have to say I have had problems.
What would you say the issues are with these in your truck Lonnie? I've got an 83 C10 I'm looking to get new gauges for.
What did you do for the gas guage you didnt comment on that in the video, was it plug and play or did you have to modify as well
I've covered that in videos previously to this one. I showed me making a 91 burban cluster work and the intellitronix gauges.
@@LonniesGarage I've watched that and screen shotted your stock wiring diaphrams of what the cluster wires are. And I watched you put all the sensors in and I watched you plumb your gas tank. on a stock tbi truck all that's involved in hooking up the fuel guage would be just splicing the wire in or would it need aftermarket fuel level sender? Along with the sensors that come with the digital guage kit
So I twisted all the purple wires and ran them to the dimmer but you ran 1 only what have I missed I need help!
Did you have to trim the gauge cover to fit over the gauge cluster??
Nope
You have a part number for that quick connecter to unplug the gauges ?
I think it's on my parts list on my Facebook page All Around Kustoms
My gauges don’t zero out at the beginning
What tool did you use to trim your instrument clusters to fit the gauges?
A Dremel with a cutoff wheel
So looking into going Digital on my 79, been debating on Dakota or this brand, how has your experience been with them? What would you go with now after all is said and done?
It all depends on your budget. You get what you pay for.
Well I don't want to have to keep replacing gauges, would rather pay $700 and no problems than paying $300 and headaches.
I just purchased a 84 shortbed roller what size rims you running on the white Chevy? I will be lowering it 4-6 inches eventually and installing a 5.3 or 6.0 ls hopefully
Kt Carroll I'm running 20x8.5 on front and 20x10 on rear.
PuppetKicker yeah I should have read the comments you were already asked that question but Tku
I got a set of these gauges for my LS swapped 1975 K5 blazer and got everything hooked up. All of the gauges work except the Tachometer. Noticed in the instruction that it said I had to order it specific for the LS. Didn’t know anything about that. Just wondering if you had to order your gauges specific for the LS.
Sweet video, helped out a lot.
How did you set up the electronic trans with the speedo?
Vss wire.
@@LonniesGarage sorry I dont know this but is it a 3 wire that just adapts to the same 3 wires going to the cluster? Havent looked since the swap
I'm thinking about putting these in my ls swap c10, did you have any issues with them?
Some are off on the readings but they look good.
I have an 84 c10 what size drop kit do you have on it and what brand. Also what wheel and tire size?
20 inch rims. I'll have to look at the tire size. The drop is in my videos as well
@@LonniesGarage thank you
Why didn't you solder and heat shrink the wires you were connecting to the new plug purchased for the gauge setup?
Because I was testing this setup out. I have since did that. The gauges are working well so I've decided to keep them in the truck.
Love you channel great work, wondering if you used the speddo adapter , cuz i need one cant find around here.
No I didn't use the adapter. I am running a 4l60e. It has electronic trans.
What size wheel and tires?? Looks good
How does the fuel gauge read like are the numbers the percentage of fuel level or what?
Yea
Do they make one like that with the turn signals an everything I need one for an 88 toranado
Not sure. They might.
Was yours the whole board?
First of all great looking guy you got there! I get the wheels are 20” but what’s the drop on it? I have a 73 c10 sitting stock and I can’t make my damn mind to weather drop it 5 inches or more?
Arvin B. 5/7
Are you no longer using the 91 cluster?
Nope
I was thinking of getting these for my 74. How well are they holding up? Any problems?
I would not recommend them at all
@@LonniesGarage Bummer man! I watched all your videos and got motivated.. Was going to pull the trigger and do it. Shame they didnt hold up as well as we were all hoping for. Appreciate your videos and your honest updates.
Nice, what size wheels and tires are u running?
Rafael Sanchez 20x8.5 245/45r20s on the front and 20x10 275/40r20s on the rear.
PuppetKicker do u recommend that tire package I got the same wheels just got them? And did u have any clearance problems?
Rafael Sanchez yes I would go with that size again. No problems at all
Great job and great truck. I don’t have that knowledge and even time to install something like that on my 83 C10. Any idea on what type of shop would install this? Mechanic...body shop...auto electrical shop?
Try your local shops.
WELL I see that you went back to the intellitronix gauges I was just trying to find a wiring diagram to help wirer them in any help with that would be nice thanks
They come with the wiring diagram
sorry I was looking for the truck side
@@LonniesGarage
@@4low1 did you ever find anything
Is it still working well?
RPM has quit and some of the readings aren't right.
Would this work on a 1979 El Camino???
You can get in touch with them to see if they make a set for it.
Is this the chevy that you built through out the step by step videos? The blue one? If so, damn! Looks good. Didn't you have the suburban cluster in here?
Yes this is the same truck. Yes I had a 90's suburban cluster in it.
That looks good man. I was going through your vids because I thought I something a while back about adjust the throttle cable on that truck and then I saw this and had to check it out. I watched alot of the build until I finally started mine.
Question my tach reads 300 at idle. How fix that error
Where did u order them from I have a 1974 Chevy truck I like to order me some
Dale Smith you can get them from their website or eBay.
What is the fuel gauge reading
What do u mean?
What is that connector that you use to wire in it in two
link to all this?
Ebay
Good afternoon sir good looking truck you got there can you help me on the 12pin connector I don't have the connector and I would like to do it wire by wire it is any way that you have the chart of wish wire's connect together I appreciate if you can help me with this
I got the plug off of ebay.
@@LonniesGarage did you have the name or part number please
Hey buddy what color is your sons truck
2k high build primer gray
Lonnie's Garage (Puppetkicker) thank you. Working on mine. Your video’s have been very helpful
1st cool
Would you prefer this or the Dakota?
To be fair I've never had Dakota. They look nice but the price is outa my rang.
How accurate are those gauges?
@@the_chosen_one2831 I have never had my gas gage work or my water temp gauge. Id never get it again.
@@adamdailey4969 so your saying the intellitronix no good?
yea_ datsdennis I won’t use them and I am actually looking to replace them. They sent a rice size diode to soter in and 4 different temp sending units and none of them worked. That’s just my experience since we put them in 2 yrs ago
