It's not a literal scam, but it is definitely a "scam". Everyone knows what that means. Feels a bit useless to include that part in the video just arguing semantics.
Warframe market can have skewed prices at times, like bronze pieces being way more expensive than silver pieces or buying the set being more expensive than the individual pieces
Gauss Prime’s release was really funny because of how quickly his price dropped down due to everyone wanting to farm for him, and how pissy people trying to sell him got.
Meanwhile me rolling in 100 copies of blood rush and rime rounds smoking a cig watching trade chat burn as i get a msg every 30 mins from someone off WF makret for selling 1 p under the other cheapest dude
@@dankmemes8254 i wasnt there to confirm myself but gauss prime was the first prime since the merge and by hour 3, of release, with my own verifiable sources, he was going for 250p in some instances
Ehhh a better example is Baruuk Prime. Was selling 400, 300p at release and I sold like 2 sets. The next day he was 100p with the highest being 120p. It was such a stark contrast

Here are some of the most ridculous things ive seen on trade chat 1: Someone selling SP arcanes R5 for 1000p 2: The truley unhinged prices Primed Chamber used to go for 3; I sold someone a Valkyr Chassis i believe and immediatley saw them try to flip it for double
I have a good one, I was trying to buy a magus lockdown set since I came back to the game and still don’t have fortuna leveled after all these years, but the first hit I get the guy asks for 1500p… I asked for clarification that he just said 1500p for an r5 magus lockdown set. He confirms… I try to give him the benefit of the doubt thinking he maybe meant 150 and didn’t realize, but no he doubled down and said 1200 😂
I once saw someone asking for a rank 0 arcane (can’t remember which one; a single arcane from vox or the quills that only cost 10,000 standing at most) for 200p. Let’s just say that person *definitely* didn’t get “scammed.” I just made an “informed trade” (according to this video) and they made an “uninformed trade.” 😆 seriously though RIP that guy’s 200 plat.
if you trade enough stuff like this really happens lol. youll also find extremely low priced rivens for meta weaponsbut those are usually gone if the right people are on at the time@@ThePsh07
I just bought a prime chamber for 345plat. Its a collectors item kinda, and its nice for the vectis since ive got a pretty good -mag riven with multi shot and crit damage. Primed chamber being 3000 ducats also probably had something to do with it. I also am kinda fuzzy on the prices you were referring to as being "unhinged"
Ive made WTB posts with prices a little lower than average, and then recieved both offers for that price, and angry messages saying im an idiot and that nobody will sell it for that low.
Because a lot of player are children when i tell someone trying to sell me the last prime warframe i am missing inaros prime for 150p and i tell him i can get gim for 50 easily it mean i can gett him for 50 and had offer from multiple player
I wtb an item for 45p the other day, with lowest price on market being 48. Somebody messages me that they will sell it for 55, because lowest price is 50 and that nobody will sell it to me for that. When I asked why they won't sell it for 50 then I got ignored 😂
@@jayelex2459 This is fine cause you are someone who is actually there, and not a buyer or seller you have to DM and who might then be afk. Convenience is worth something, that is why buy and sell orders exist on .market too.
Most of my sells in trade chat are replying to WTB. Some ppl are so greedy they end up wasting more time trying to sell one item for a non-negotiable price when they could have sold 5.
I still remember getting Ember Prime for free back when she was selling for over 1k platinum, just because some guy was feeling generous. She’s still one of my favorite frames.
Way back in the day, and I'm talking like year two or three of Warframe's existence, I got Tempo Royale which would normally run at 300 plat, for about 220 plus a couple of prime parts that would only come up to 250, because I just so happened to have the specific parts the guy was looking for. Doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's honestly one of my fondest memories of Warframe that I bought the (at the time) most expensive item in the game at a discount thanks to some canny bargaining, and simply asking "Yo, what are you looking for?"
@@AGrumpyPanda There's a chance that was me. I was in the first nekros group that sold the first batch of tempos for 1000 plat and then cornered the market for 1 day only to pull the lever and drop them the next day to 300 so we could buy them back and try to do it again. We didn't succeed by the way lol. But i remember doing a couple of trades like that when we gave up on the idea. We made fucking bank lol, it funded my warframe journey all the way up to mr30
I had the same thing with Loki Prime. Someone was quitting their account so he gave stuff away and I just said sure. Half a year later, when I realized that you can trade and found Warframe Market, I was completely shocked to see the set going for 1.2k and lowest being 800, to think I could've been rich... but then again, thanks to him, I can confidently say I am a proud member of the Loki Mastar Race.
"Corpus ethics are global" is not something I thought I was going to hear today, but it doesn't surprise me. Great video, it must have taken a lot of effort to gather and parse all that data.
LOL then Baro. That was so many years ago. (Sorry I say that cause I literally played today for the first time in five years and if I remember that it’s ancient)
Thousands? Hundreds of thousands. At peak, they traded for 150-300k plat per. Story time. TheFacelessDealer was a pretty notorious trader for rivens and the like. This man, owned 7. Yes, 7, Primed Chambers when there were fewer than 200 in existence. He had 5 of them unranked, rotting away in his stash. The other two, one was on a perfect -mag vectis, and the other with a -mag vulklok riven in his sentinel. He had well over 400k plat in liquid, and probably another 400k plat in 3+/-harmless god rolls. I don't think he took Baro's arrival that week very well xD
the only thing worse, is the auctions, 90% of them arent auction, i made an offer, 2 weeks pass by and no one offers more, contact the owner, he just close the auction and open a new one or just says my offer is too low ... that is not how auctions work.
I had the same issue and when I checked his profile he had the same riven for sale at 1200 plat, no wonder he didn’t respond to my 2 week top bid of 500 😂
Auctions just never work as intended due to nobody looking at them and is a prime way of getting taken advantage of, you're better of just selling with a fixed price unless you have the most wanted godroll
@@estefanofarias8130 But you're not forced to start at that point. You can start lower and get people interested. Marketing 101 tactic. Why would people not use all the advantages if they can?
I still find it hilarious how people will sell prime sets for insane prices like over 150p - 300p but go to warframe market or trade chat to buy the pieces separately and you'll tend to get everything under 100p
This was my most surprising discovery. I just came back from LONG hiatus, due to cross save linking my PC with my old PS4 account. I still remember the day a rhino prime set was worth 300p in trade chat! Obviously its been a really long time, but hes dropped to 90 on warframe market roughly. I thought "oh, thats because he's old, the newer ones will be more expensive still, multiple hundred" NOPE! They were also under 100p for full sets! Managed to snag quite a few sets of frames I thought were going to be hard af to get since they are vaulted. and now I have a good chunk of parts and sets to sell myself because plenty of these sets I had half of on PS4 and the other half on PC! LOL
People don't understand when you want something now and you're willing to pay Platinum for it that's what it is it's not about overpaying it's not about underpaying it's about getting what you want at a price that you're comfortable with. As long as you are comfortable with the price everybody is a winner.

My take on trade chat has been about the same ever since rivens came out: most of it is trash, but if you make a genuine offer and someone willingly and informedly takes you up on that offer, then all's well and done. I'll usually use a combination of warframe market, the going prices on trade chat, and my own gut-feel for what I'm willing to buy or sell for, and it's yet to steer me wrong (at least not by enough plat that I care).
I remember once searching a riven for kuva weapins, and one guy tried to sell me a +100% mutishot, +40% toxin, -60% damage riven for the khom for 750pl. After that, no more trade chat.
When I started, mind it I am a new player, started in December, if u can research u can actually haggle down the price in trade chat, sure there are inflated prices, but there are also players who want to get rid of the stuff to make some quick plat, so yea overall do your research, u can get some good deals or get ripped.
Possible. Though, I've never had any luck at Maroo's. I'll hold stuff up, no one comes to offer me anything. And I've never dared offer anything to people there. I think one time I went, someone wanted some Ayatan pineapples, and I have a ton, so I sold a handful of em, but...that's about it.
It's just chill hanging out at Maroo's during breaks while watching sth on the other screen. I do lots of trades there, buying and selling. Never scammed or got scammed.
I remember a month ago, I needed to buy Nidus Prime Neuroptics. Some "Lady" (In the name) wanted to "politely" sell it to me for 400p. "she" said "It is a vaulted prime, that is very hard to farm by it self". Yah, the same day got it for 20P from Warframe Market.
I unironically met them. They said they group up to farm relics and sell them to fellas they pick up at relays. Their income was, according to them ~2k plat per day. They said some of their Friends have hundreds of thousands of plat. All made from The back of newbies.
If you're on europe, I think I met the same person. Maroo's Bazaar, another person trading next to them having weirdly very close names with "Lady" in it and similar customization features, they were dropping hearts in the relay chat too. I ask them for a Wisp Prime Set, they told me "well, since it's a very difficult set to farm, i'll sell it for 900plat
@@phenomenon3972 They are defo lying lol aint no way they making 2k~ a day off the back of newbies. No new player is buying 1k+ platinum and spending it on prime sets
Fun fact, Latam has its own trade chat and while the practises are the same, it is a bit cheaper in general. Not by much but it is well known inside the community that 'English speaking chat' is the place to sell your items and local trade chat to buy them as they are always cheaper. My theory is that the market is founded in english so many players don't go to warframe market as finding items become harder for some folk who don't know the language. But it's just a theory
Back before WFMarket was so common, myself and several clanmates would scan trade chat between missions to try and spot people buying or selling things at ridiculous prices. It was a good way to get my start in the game and get some of those early warframe and weapon slots.
I usually don't put up prices because I accept whatever as I'm playing for 11 years now and have so much stuff that I don't really care. Fun fact: 6 years ago I actually found a now really good friend by buying some junk for TennoCon and he offered them way too cheap like 2p per trade. I obviously bought it once (shame on me 😂) but right after that I told him to make different prices and tought him how to actually make fair trades (for both sides) It really is way better to be honest and helpful because in the end making platinum is nice but making friends is better. Oh and to all Tenno out there: hava a nice day / night.
I usually sell things at market price and others usually ask to drop it a bit, and if they do i ask them to give something equal to what they drop it by/what i need
So TLDR; trade chat is trash. Also just had an interaction in the Bazaar where a older player was selling frames way overvalue, trying to convince newer players to buy it from him. Absolutely embarassing that the trade community has bad actors like this.
Great video! Most of my trades in trade chat these days are Augment mods trades. Got too tired with trade chat: asking for a trash/unrolled riven and someone slams a godroll in your message, sometimes have to scroll up and down to find a specific chat in a sea of words (this is a personal problem for me),... Thank god for Warframe Market and much love for the player that told me about it when I first started. Trade chat is not a scam but I believe there are many "problems" that it needs to resolve to be better. I think many new players who don't know anything are being preyed upon by predatory traders and this can make new players to shy away from trading.
I used it to trade syndicates mods / parts, and sometimes ( but very rare ) I found myself good deals ( buying deals ), for some reasons there's many lists in Warframe.market are fake ( bots, players quite the game, forgot to de-list, doesn't reply at all etc etc ).
We need an in-game auction house. We have a lot of market manipulation in wf market, ghost offering just to lower the price for the same person to buy it cheap fron those whom bite the bait and lower the price. In the other hand, no one would buy plat if we had an in-game auction house. But, I think we could reach a middle ground by item links displaying the last 10 trades involving that item on the right corner so the player could see what the actual trades look like.
@2:10 Someone in my old clan was complaining some time ago that trade chat should be strictly for trading items and not the premium currency, and that to counter-balance that platinum should be made cheaper, but only obtainable through purchase or dev gifts. Skipping over how that would absolutely tank the game’s longevity and player retention, it brings up the convenience of wants problem. The convenience of wants will always show up in any bartering system, as that suggestion has reduced player trading to just that: bartering. Even if you trade for something of equal value but you don’t truly want what you’re receiving, you’re taking a pretty big loss to your own time and efforts. The amount of trades that would happen would simply collapse and you may as well farm everything yourself
My main use for trade chat is buying normal mods. I think people are less likely to go through the effort of a dot market listing for really small sales and you can definitely grab a mod off someone looking to make fast plat from a big collection for cheap off trade chat.
There's also the fact that trade chat is also very rude. Had a guy insult me once because I gave him a offer he didn't like. Which is why I always tip those who are polite and genuine
Honestly trade chat has been really good for me as a new player, I’ve met really nice peoples who helped get new slots and other things. My only time I got “scammed” was when I was desperate for platinum and unknowingly sold my only Hammer Shot for 20 platinum. (Uninformed about WF market at the time)
Damn you put me onto something, just looked up market cuz i thought 20pl was a regular price but it seems people are selling it for 80+?? I have a couple of them since i used to grind nightmare missions like crazy
the problem is a lack of prior or current data of the market. the trade channel lets people perfectly capture the buisness strategy of “screw the noob”. without data being shoved in your face, you won’t understand how trading actually works.
6:45 I personally refer to this as the ignorance tax and it can be applied in real life too. You buy an item and then find out you could’ve gotten it elsewhere for 67$ dollars less. It’s on you for not doing even a minuscule amount of research on the item’s pricing. Always look up the item to find how much people will usually buy or sell it for. it’ll save you a headache and some money in the long run.
Trade chat forgets that trading in this game is a buyers market. Your plat is worth SO much more than them holding onto a set in their inventory and too many new players don't realize that they hold the power in negotiating. There is a far more massive supply than their is demand. You should never be paying more than 50plat for a prime.
So same as any other market in real life, what a surprise, you wouldn't pay 50$ for an apple because you are informed, get to know prices for parts and you won't be deceived
Personally I look up sales data on WF Market (Not the posts gathering dust asking for way too much plat, the chart that shows how much and how often things sell) and add roughly 20%, stopping at a nice round number. And still, I get people offering a third of what I asked for. WF Market says 50p and I post for 60p? Somebody's going to say they only have 24p and really, really want the item.
The only time I even used Trade Chat recently was to dump all my Wolf Sledges after reading that Recall Ten Zero would have a 'Nightwave' week, and selling all my Arcane Energizes in Nvember as I felt in my waters that Gargoyle's Cry was going to be an Arcane event and Energize prices were probably as high as they'd ever be.
Been playing since the beta. Have never used trade chat and only rarely/reluctantly bought anything using Warframe Market (never sold anything). Would give almost anything for a traditional auction house where I could buy and sell without having to "interact". I play games to get away from people! :)
Same. An auction house would make things a lot more comfortable and also help to eliminate issues such as people posting fake offers on the market in order to influence item values.
thing is an auction house in game would probably tank DE's platinum profits because more players would be earning it ingame rather than spending. not that im against the idea, i just think it'll take some brainstorming to figure that system out without causing players to stop buying plat.
@@darthplagueis13 in that case i'd just chalk it up to an unwillingness to commit to a better system. just making the Warframe Market usable somehow in-game would already be a huge boon to the general playerbase
It makes sense that sellers and buyers mark up and mark down compared to wf market, because if they were buying and selling at the same rates as warframe market then there would be no need to post in trade chat as they can just sell/buy to/from the wf market listing
I don’t even know how to really use wf market on console with cross-save enabled.. do I post on pc wf market or no? And with the numbers required to chat with console players or whatever are they included in the whisper?
I picked the 60-80% on the pole but I feel the need to point out, that was based on the amount of space those offers are taking up, not the number of sellers or number of messages. The visual clutter is one of the main reasons I disabled trade entirely at some point.
Trade chat is chaotic and annoying and has scammy/shitty people BUT trade chat can also be super useful for needing a quick easy mod/item that isn’t a riven
So, stug is garbage, no doubts about it, however, it is posible to make it work if you actually want to hit your head with that hammer, its a gimmic weapon basically, Leyzar made a video where he accomplished this, and even then he still said dont do it 😂
I had an experience before in the buyers listing for a vandal barrel, the highest buyer atm was 200. People kept overcutting each other by refreshing their buy listing or adding one or so more plat. I became so bad that the highest buy listing was 260. I simply checked the sellers listing was around 230, with the first one being the lowest at 200. I jumped at the opportunity to message the seller, I was expecting him to have already sold it but it turns out for a whole hour this guy was online no one contacted them. Even with the information laid out these 15 or so people in the buyers listing was unaware of this offer.
A scam requires some form of deception, so most people in trade chat think that they’re not scamming anyone by taking advantage of other’s ignorance; so long as they aren’t actively misleading someone. The problem with this is that lying by omission is still a lying. Since most of the people in trade chat are actively attempting to take advantage of uninformed players, I’d say trade chat definitely qualifies as a scam.
@@meanderer9808 This right here, this guy gets it. Trade chat isn't a scam, it's an open market meaning you can sell what ever you want for any price you want.
My trade chat experience: Ultra split chamber arcane ignito fusion ancient mod - 7,000 platinum Every single prime frame to exist and all future frames - 40 platinum
This neglects the fact that most people dont have wf running all day. So will likely miss messages on things they put up for sale. Trade chat is also where the vast majority of common low value trades happen. It is miles easier to sell syndicate arcanes and mods on trade chat.
I came back to the game 2 weeks ago and since i had a lot of plat lying around i decided to buy a bunch of primes i was missing, every time i tried to use chat instead of warframe market they asked for no less than double or triple of what was listed in warframe market, so after the third thing i just stopped using chat completely and just used warframe market, not only the price was way lower but it was also faster because as soon as i pm'd the seller they would instantly invite me to their dojo to trade. I'm pretty sure the reason DE hasn't implemented an auction house yet is because being pretty close to a perfect competition market it leads to massive deflation, so people would need less platinum and they would make less money.
Another thing I've noticed quite frequently in Trade Chat - If a seller posts a price for a riven, you'll more often receive messages saying "It's not worth that much" or something along those lines in order to deceive you into selling low so they can sell high and make a profit. I don't believe Trade Chat is a scam especially since there is not real set prices on items, it's just the general price as to what people are willing to pay for them. The downside to this is it creates a toxic environment where people just want a shortcut to thousands or tens of thousands of Platinum - hence greed.
I put the things I want to sell on the market, but if I want to buy something, I often try a WTB in the chat for significantly less than what's on the market. If you're patient, there's a good chance someone will go for it. Usually they are aware of the market pricing and are just feeling generous or want some fast platinum
I feel like its pretty different for console. There's so few people using market on console I almost never find sellers for what I want. TBF I'm usually looking for stuff most people don't trade as often, but I've compared console to pc and the difference is massive
I've been told I'm "crazy cheap" when selling Prime sets on trade chat... I just go with the rates on warframe market site. I probably could squeeze more plat, but I prefer making fair deals as opposed to maximizing plat profits.
@@SwedetasticGamesnot really? You're one seller in millions of players. I can count on one hand of how many people I've had that have made multiple buys from me and they've all came from wfm
@@RapTapTap69 maybe nowadays. I rarely interact with the market at all except for buying very specific things nowadays, but I used to take WFM prices and sell for them in trade chat few years back. For actually being fair with my prices, and willing to haggle max 10%, I had many repeat costumers who recognised me. Some would even whisper me to ask if I had an item even when not listing cuz they knew that if yes, they'd get a good deal.
For the most part I've rarely had issues with trade chat whenever a price was listed. I've almost always had issues with folks who list PMO at the end of their post. It got so bad I made it a rule of thumb to always post my price when selling, and only trade with players who post a price. Experience has been way better since doing that.
did the same thing - i first started by using PMO because i didnt know how to price my shit especially when it came to rivens within a few days though i found the website that has all the common elements and pricings and now i base my price on the average depending on what the riven has on it
Anytime i want to buy a riven if anyone says over 300p ill just block them. Some people literally try to say 1000p or more and that is just stupid even meta weapons i can easily get it for 50-100
IMO from a RNG/math standpoint those ~1k prices often make sense. Rolling rivens and farming Kuva is completely miserable. There are no safeguards, no stat blocking, guns can still roll -100% dmg, melee can roll -100% melee range. Getting that "god roll" could literally take you a week, or youve been rolling that one riven for over 4 years and never getting an "amazing" riven. Now do you NEED some minmaxed mods like this? LoL nope.
@IplayTeemoasaWard I guess I should have mentioned this but I only every ask for/buy unrolled rivens and I'll still get people that want 1000 or more for them that's why I block them
No in game mod should equate to hundreds of real dollars espescially if dispositions aren't set in stone, people just shout numbers into trade chat and I guess it's been working cause there's no shortage of people that want 1k+ for some dogmeat rivens just because the weapon randomly got clout from a YT build, I just make comfy builds now, there's so much power creep in the game that as an ex riven crackhead they're hardly necessary for most content.
@@MastaBroshiX I say to Hek with rivens, game can be played just fine without them, so the only people who need Rivens are crazy Eidolon/PT speedrunners

I bought a prime part for a lot more than it was worth because I was impatient. Turns out, I was also stupid because I already had that part (two systems request in one message when one was neuro). Obviously, I can’t resell it at the same price because it’s worth less so I have to keep telling myself that it’s value in ducats is more than buying directly. Even that barely helps….
Trade chat is nice and I use it regularly but man, some people are really not aware of prices at all. I've had to give some traders i've interacted with a little crash course and guiding in my time of trading, a new player shouldn't have their valuable plat stolen because they were unsure of economy.
@@provaricus627 ppl doing that doesn’t make much of a difference ultimately, i have around 205k plat from selling things at much higher prices than market. i rinsed a prime access person when gauss dropped for around 4k for a few max galvanized and archon mods
Oh speaking of Maroo's bazaar, I had a guy report me (presumably on WFMarket, but if he was using WFM why was he standing around Maroo's for?) for canceling his trade. He was standing directly in front of Maroo as I was trying to start the weekly hunt, and I must have misclicked him. But the weird thing is, I was already in Maroo's dialogue menu when it pulled me into his trade! No idea how that happened.
There are two answers to that question. Yes and Yes. First one is people who have no clue about trading showing ridiculous prices and the second are genuine scammers.
Thank you Warframe market, it has savee me from some truely absurd low balls: im on xbox, which is not the same as PC (example mag, i though a good low mean would be 120-150p and got some real confused messages in DMs going 80p, mag has been muc more available on PC, on consoles, you can only get her via prime resurgence) i usually sell wisp for 150p, which is already low, but sometimes i do like throwing in a free fused resivours, especially if thier MR is low. Had a guy say he just brought one for 80p, qnd i was like, oh? You dont need it then, enjoy the wisp you already have. I think he was trying to buy low, especially cos he lowest i saw for wisp on the market was 120p (he could of even bartered me down to 130p). Another was me trying to sell primed continuity (r0) for 60p, they wanted to buy for 20p, even lqughed at me and waid it was worth 20p at most. Check xbox market, the lowest being 30p, on pc market, the lowest being 25p. I said good luck getting it for that
I’m in a discord that is for many games but there are people that play Warframe there too. While yes, I do ‘Overpay’ for things there, I intentionally do so as a ‘Thank you for the help’ kind of deal. I tend to stay away from trade chat if at all possible.
Tis data makes me quite happy that I personally don't sell for high plat and instead use market and data values like these to get an average price to start with then give it a small cut down to make my item appealing to buyers. Got a glaive riven once, knew it was worth some plat but happily sold it off for just 100 as RNG can be cruel with kuva only stuff Im firm on price with is augments at 10 each. I try my best to be honest on prices by looking to see what low sales are offered compared to what players are willing to pay.
The worst part of trade chat is that when I want to sell something and put up a legitimately fair selling price based on warframe market, everybody just assumes I'm scamming them and either ignores it or tries to lowball me by 50%. I'm not even doing any scummy prices, yet I feel like I'm getting punished because of how other people act there.
Oh thank god I’m not the only one who feels this way, there time I was sell galvanized mods for a reasonable prince unrank and people will try to buy it a fully rank one at the same low price or just expect you to give essentially 1mil creds and 40k endo of your work for 30p and get mad that your trying to “scam” them even though you were honest about everything with them
I don't care about the prices. i'm a lr4 beta founder. I'm not buying anything from the players. I don't use trade chat because in a time it takes me to unload a 200p set i can unload 12 of these sets for 70-100 p. I trade once in two-three weeks for 40 minutes, spend all my trades and walk out with like 1-4k plat
The problem is rivens, you can’t sell them on warframe market because they’re sorted by price so people usually only buy the cheapest one (usually a zero roll) so if you have a good riven you want to sell it’s nearly impossible to find a trade partner
It's not impossible. First off, don't price your rivens only based off what other people are selling similar rolls for. Click on their listing and check how long the riven listing has been up for. If it's been up for several weeks then you want to price your riven lower. If it's been up for months, then price your riven substantially lower. Decent rivens for meta weapons will sell very quickly. I roll rivens for non-meta weapons a lot but they actually include some decent weapons, not those that were released 10 years ago which almost nobody uses. It's also good to have some knowledge of the game because some of the classic "godrolls" aren't godrolls for every frame which uses that weapon. A Kullervo with 400%+ ability strength does not want Critical Chance on a riven at all for example. Voruna gives a decent amount of critical damage by using her 1 for example, but rolling a only crit damage on a riven for a weapon with bad crit chance might be bad. Say your weapon's crit damage is 2x and Voruna boosts it by 8x resulting in a multiplier of 10x. With this build, if you're weapon can't reach 200% CC it's better to roll for a CC riven. If you're weapon easily reaches higher CC then it's best to not include CC in the riven but opt for something else.
Thank you. I just got into Warframe, haven't looked at the market, and didn't know there was a site dedicated to it. So now that gives me something to look towards when I get later in the game and want to consider whatever trades.
Nice story I had while using the trade chat : While I was trying to buy r5 primary merciless and thought it's lowest price was too expensive for me, I gave a shot on the trade chat using PMO instead of pricing. My price target was 10٪ lower than what the market listed. While ppl would offer me one for 200p (XD), one offered me for the 10% lower margin I wanted. And while I was about to trade in it's dojo, that person asked if I had a prime part that he was looking for. In the end, we did radshares to get it, and I got my arcane for 20% of it's INITIAL price! In the end, being creative can get you nice discounts 😊
You can absolutely get stuff for less than WM prices in trade chat if you’re patient. Trade chat is great, just know what stuff is worth. I dont put prices in listings to fish for buyers. Ive sold wisp for 80 to 100p depending what offers i get. People selling frames for 200 plat are idiots
personally i dont think they should change how trading works itself, a little bit of interaction when trading wasnt that obtrusive though i can see how new traders will be anxious abt it. the problem is trade chat, idk how they can improve upon it but it is def the worst thing about the game personally. only thing that should be posted on trade chat tbh are rivens as they vary a lot. but trading stuff like prime parts, mods and arcanes should have its own thing instead of trade chat.
You can of course say that it clearly isnt a scam, but the mere fact that its clearly a bunch of people preying on uninformed people feels very wrong, so much so that i dont think its existence is good for the game at all, i dont think it should be deleted but it kind of sucks, also i dont think there is any in game information that points people out towards Warframe market since its not affiliated, wich i think is a damm shame, maybe one day we will get a enchanced global trade system, like most mmos have(Runescape GE, WoW Auction house)
Every time a game does a market place like this-- peer to peer trading with just inventory swap-- it ends up having massive scams. I remember the Eve guys joking that they'd just sit back and watch dibblo and later poe players stream people scamming other players, and hear the devs whine about how people aren't trading enough, to hit em with 'must suck to suck' kind of shit. you want to do trading, you need an automated market place with holding. No playing around, no nonsense, and it means less people idling.
I just want to say ty for your channel. It really helps to have straight facts to analyze. Your Voruna Video sure helped me figure out why my melee wasnt doing the damage i thought it should be even with a "good" riven. So I appreciate that.
Another thing to consider in the debate of trade chat v. market website is urgency. In TC if you wait too long a message will fly by you and then you waste time that may result in you missing out on another potential trade trying to pin down that other one. In market you post and it will remain there as long as the website is still up until someone takes the offer. Its the same free market, but they each have advantages for consumer/seller that cultivate their current state.
I don't have a price tag, When someone ask the price of something I'm selling I always reply with "pay whatever is fair to you". And I always accept the value.
I remember listing 1 syndicate weapon for an opposing faction syndicate weapon and it actually was QUITE FAST in getting a trade done.. I think that makes sense. For instance trading Synoid Simulor for Ratka Dark Dagger. Though I did this years ago, I think it's still very viable today to do this specifically there in trade chat.
You should do a video about buying a full necramech, i've had people try to sell me the damaged set for 80p when it's worth 10 and when i confronted him he said it's the right thing and that he's sold multiple this week for 80.
I talked to an MR 4 player a couple days ago in clan chat about how someone tried convincing him to sell them an ash prime set for 20p, luckily he wasnt dumb enough to fall for it but ive heard similar stories more then a few times
Trade chat used to be the place to go to, both before and after warframe market was created. Haggling in real time and strange deals made it simultaneously useful and even fun. I wish it could go back to being like that… I do think if we had a second trade chat for rivens only, we could maybe get closer to the old days. Just my 2 ¢ as an old player.
I rely entirely on warframe market for pricing and call people out for trying to sell me overpriced crap in trade chat (I use trade chat to buy stuff, sue me)

By god, I can only imagine the time it took to process the data. Massive props!
the only thing worse, is the auctions, 90% of them arent auction, i made an offer, 2 weeks pass by and no one offers more, contact the owner, he just close the auction and open a new one or just says my offer is too low ... that is not how auctions work.

I thought "oh, thats because he's old, the newer ones will be more expensive still, multiple hundred"
NOPE! They were also under 100p for full sets! Managed to snag quite a few sets of frames I thought were going to be hard af to get since they are vaulted. and now I have a good chunk of parts and sets to sell myself because plenty of these sets I had half of on PS4 and the other half on PC! LOL

The real scam in trade chat is the amount of time you waste trying to get anything done in it
THIS. I took a gander at it one more time and I hate sitting around in my orbiter doing nothing and just waiting around
I'm just glad that someone that is doing this amount of work actually gets the views for it. You're a blessing to the Warframe community.
90% of the warframe player base doesn't actually know the definition of "scam"
(Uninformed about WF market at the time)

the problem is a lack of prior or current data of the market. the trade channel lets people perfectly capture the buisness strategy of “screw the noob”. without data being shoved in your face, you won’t understand how trading actually works.

@sonkingritenow there are like 5 weapons that can’t be built for sp rn, and stug is one of them. stug is hot garbage get real
If lying by omission is a scam then every store irl is a scam since you can buy every product cheaper somewhere else
@@meanderer9808
This right here, this guy gets it. Trade chat isn't a scam, it's an open market meaning you can sell what ever you want for any price you want.
My trade chat experience:
Ultra split chamber arcane ignito fusion ancient mod - 7,000 platinum
Every single prime frame to exist and all future frames - 40 platinum
Hot take. If every dirty corpus in trade channel who says “well then buy it on market” got banned. The market would be a better place.
Knowing the trade chat controversy, that vid was definitely a good play.
I put the things I want to sell on the market, but if I want to buy something, I often try a WTB in the chat for significantly less than what's on the market. If you're patient, there's a good chance someone will go for it. Usually they are aware of the market pricing and are just feeling generous or want some fast platinum
You: “Private message your offer”
Them: “how much?”
"I asked for you to give me a price"
Then it's either "idk" or they offer twice as much as the price normally goes around.
Exactly 👍
Makes it likelier to have repeat customers.
Experience has been way better since doing that.
did the same thing - i first started by using PMO because i didnt know how to price my shit especially when it came to rivens
within a few days though i found the website that has all the common elements and pricings and now i base my price on the average depending on what the riven has on it
The moment I saw "WTS [Volt Prime] Set 250p" I never opened trade chat again 💀
Oh so that's why my attempts to offload shitty rivens always fail there
Anytime i want to buy a riven if anyone says over 300p ill just block them.
I had a guy try and call me an idiot for price checking on market while trading, when he was trying to sell a khora prime set for 1100p. I got the set from someone else for 80p instead, they were offering 75 and I gave extra for them not being predatory like the first guy
Trade chat is definitely a mess for known/fresh meta-weapon Rivens.
also holy cow why would you track all that XD
Because he's a fucking chad.
Cause Ken is a Chad for our benefit =D
God bless the people spending their time telling people to look up prices on the WFM to not buy things at such exuberant prices.
@@provaricus627 ppl doing that doesn’t make much of a difference ultimately, i have around 205k plat from selling things at much higher prices than market. i rinsed a prime access person when gauss dropped for around 4k for a few max galvanized and archon mods
@@jakemaurer3829 way to go brother, we sellers need to stand united against these undercutting wusses
Trade chat is really good, IF you can navigate it correctly and know the general prices for certain things.
No
There are two answers to that question.
An auction house is despereatly needed
Tis data makes me quite happy that I personally don't sell for high plat and instead use market and data values like these to get an average price to start with then give it a small cut down to make my item appealing to buyers. Got a glaive riven once, knew it was worth some plat but happily sold it off for just 100 as RNG can be cruel with kuva only stuff Im firm on price with is augments at 10 each. I try my best to be honest on prices by looking to see what low sales are offered compared to what players are willing to pay.
tenno skoom
The worst part of trade chat is that when I want to sell something and put up a legitimately fair selling price based on warframe market, everybody just assumes I'm scamming them and either ignores it or tries to lowball me by 50%. I'm not even doing any scummy prices, yet I feel like I'm getting punished because of how other people act there.
Oh thank god I’m not the only one who feels this way, there time I was sell galvanized mods for a reasonable prince unrank and people will try to buy it a fully rank one at the same low price or just expect you to give essentially 1mil creds and 40k endo of your work for 30p and get mad that your trying to “scam” them even though you were honest about everything with them
I use trade chat for quick plat. I usually of load a bunch of relics. I make 20-100 plat a sitting. Usually just to buy potatos and adapters.
I can't believe you transcribed trade chat in multiple regions, you absolute madman.
Lol I love that red and black lavos is now "evil trade chat lavos"
Thank you. I just got into Warframe, haven't looked at the market, and didn't know there was a site dedicated to it. So now that gives me something to look towards when I get later in the game and want to consider whatever trades.
Use it for EVERYTHING. they also have a riven section now, labeled as Contracts. Do NOT use treaded chat for rivers unless you want to lose Plat.
Nice story I had while using the trade chat :
While I was trying to buy r5 primary merciless and thought it's lowest price was too expensive for me, I gave a shot on the trade chat using PMO instead of pricing.
All I can say is you deserve more subscribers. Wholesome content as always.
Just wish i could trade the MIGHTY SEER to people as a gift
This video reminded me that ive been looking for one riven in particular for 4 years..... gods how the time flies. -OnlyTheOperator
The trade chat is just parasitic people preying on the noobs and those who have less time due to real life pressures to research everything.

Those are some DEALS
You should do a video about buying a full necramech, i've had people try to sell me the damaged set for 80p when it's worth 10 and when i confronted him he said it's the right thing and that he's sold multiple this week for 80.
dont forget people selling Nautilus for 200p when you can literally buy it from in game market for 75p with potato pre installed and no crafting time
@@ThunderingRoar no shot people are selling Nautilus for that much

Glad to hear your voice is up to par again!
I rely entirely on warframe market for pricing and call people out for trying to sell me overpriced crap in trade chat
