Yes…I’m the one who rotates the plants in my house and I’m glad to hear I’m not alone!! There are so many jobs no one (but me) notices…but I tell myself there is pleasure in doing a job well and taking pride in one’s work…and usually that suffices. I have to say, I love all your content but I ESPECIALLY love this video where you share more of your home and I love content about homemaking in general…it’s an under-discussed and under-valued topic (imo) so I love when others share about their homemaking styles. 😊❤️
"Homemakers, your work matters." No truer words were ever spoken, as evidenced by the unfolding of events on our planet. Thank you for showing the "real" work of caring for a family and reminding us of the sacred responsibility we've been given. After 50 years of doing so, I can testify to the rewards. Blessings to all the mamas out there, putting one foot in front of the other, with grace and love.
I love this video. It reminds me of my time in our winery, as a full-time mum of five children. Everything was never perfect with us either, but it was cosy and the days were full of work, laughing, crying, arguing, playing and above all good food, always freshly cooked, day after day. Today the children are grown up and out of the house. A time that I miss very much 🌼❤🤗💖
I love this! As a 69 year old grandma of 10 and mother of 3 adult children I say thank you for teaching younger people the value of homemaking. My husband and I were watching this over lunch and he turned to me an said…”I think those are people we would really like”. High praise from my husband let me tell you!😬💕 keep up the good work and God bless you and yours!
Your new bathroom and bedroom are lovely. If you've had a tour I missed it. It's very beautiful. Sometimes I have to force myself to do the work that needs to be done. It seems like I run in circles some days but the outcome is always worth it in the end.
@@Karen-lo5oi Shaye used to do tours of their home but it's been a long time since she's done one. Maybe she decided to stick with cooking and homemaking however I'd like to see more detail about the new bedroom and bath. It sure is pretty.
It may seem odd…but I truly enjoy these tag alongside “A day in the life…”. I find them inspirational and motivational. Thank you for taking us along with you…❤
Keeping a happy, healthy, loving home "is" the most important job in the world! And I love the word "homemaker". My Mom (may she rest in peace) was the best homemaker ever. Her family and home were everything to her. I look back on all those years she so unselfishly toiled away to keep her family and home well cared for. Thanks Mom for teaching me all those skills. Home is everything! Thanks for sharing.
My five year old just walked up and saw your video and said “oh it’s her, I love her. She’s good at making stuff.” 😂😊 we used your pasta video to make pasta together last year. Thanks for being “good at making stuff!” And for sharing it!
“Homemakers: Your work matters.” Sounds like a great book title. Thoughtful presentation of this subject. Love the idea of blessing and good thought processes to be present with as you work. Thank you.
Well done and well said! Watching my four-year-old grandson all day, about 50 hours a week, has left me a little less than excited about homemaking. It’s nice to be reminded how important the beauty around me is in the baking, gardening, and simple tasks. Finding joy in each day is really up to each of us, it is an inside job. 😊
This is the most relatable thing you have ever made. I love this even more than the beautiful perfect looking cooking videos. (Although I love those, too!) Just the idea of mentally reframing mundane chores in our minds as blessings, and being grateful for what we have while doing these chores changes us . Steadily and consistently working to make our homes a place of joy, love, and welcome in spite of the monotony is the goal. The lovely thing is how our homes bless us back.
hey I'm not the only one who puts liquid soaps into nice bottles, dish soap & laundry detergent! I make some people cringe when I scrap my hand with the blunt end of the knife to get off the chopped veg - homemakers unite! We are home and family lovers!
Thank You so much for sharing and inspiring! I’ve seen this video as the first thing in the morning while drinking my coffee and now I’m ready to go and glorify my Heavenly Father by serving my family as well as I can. Thank You!
I have never seen this room! It's beautiful! Thank you for the encouragement to persevere even when there's no encouragement or acknowledgment at the house. ❤
It was so great to see more of your home, you've mentioned on homemaker chic making a new bedroom, I was waiting to see what you did with your Renos!! Looks lovely and the homemaking content its so encouraging to me!
Such a beautiful and realistic day in the life of a homemaker! I love the part where you said it's hard to teach the 'cooking economy' part to a new homemaker because I totally relate. I've been a homemaker for 4 years now and I feel like I'm just now learning that "art" of stretching food creatively.
Such a good reminder not to get lost in the weeds (or the dust) and remember the important stuff-as an almost (months away) empty nester I'm realizing a season of my life is closing and another one is opening. I want to be thoughtful about what that new season includes or doesn't include. In my situation we lost our home to fire a year and a half ago and as hard as that was its given me the ability to choose what things and activities I want in this new season.
I have a schedule myself and it helps. Monday thru Thursday I dedicate to the house, and Friday I have time for myself. My husband is not the outgoing type so, I cook which I love to cook, but sometimes I will order out. Once in a while we will go out to eat and enjoy time with family and friends. Working from home has it's benefits but we all need to have our alone time to ourselves. Also, I was seeing that her kids are pretty grown up to help with the chores of the house. While they are growing its good to teach them to defend themselves and learn for their future.
What a nice comforting video,i love your decorating very welcomming,i cant believe how the girls have changed, there pretty like mom...God bless you all🥰
These are my most favourite videos. Thank you for letting us in for the day. I find it so inspiring and encouraging to see and delight in those little details that do make a home ❤
Thank you for making me feel good about my daily life that is not perfect by any means, thankless most days, not always pretty, but it is my homemaker life that I love!
This is by far the most relatable video you've ever made! We all need reminders that we are not alone in the mundane. I needed the remidner to see this as a blessing.

Loved this video! As a homemaker some don't understand the value in it, especially the food. I cook every meal and can some meals in a jar for the days when everything is just moving too fast. I think you pay with your time and groceries now or you pay double to the doctor and the drug companies later. There is immeasurable value in teaching your children about growing food and making food. My son has been learning at my side since he was six. He can grill, follow recipes, make meals with help. They need the experience before they're out on their own so they to value what you can do with ingredients. He is also learning homemaking through doing chores. He does his own laundry and helps pick up the house and puts away the dishes etc. There are lots of things kids can help with that also gives them a purpose and place in taking care of the household. Making soup today, started the broth going this morning, before dishes and will be having something close to what you just made, but with basil, no pasta. Will be canning some mexican chicken also for the shelves. Just sat down for a few to watch this before starting more laundry and heading off the the store for chicken on sale. I am more than happy to take less vacations, shop at thrift stores and drive an old used car and numerous other things, in order for me to be able to stay home.
I used to have the same type of rotation with cleaning, but my husband would come home from work and not think that I had done anything, when I was just doing one room at a time, so we settled on once a week we both clean the entire house together, and then throughout the week, we just keep our own messes picked up, and I clean up messes and spills from the kids, but no actuall cleaning except on the weekend. My hussband gets his house spotless (even if for only a day), & I spend the most of one day cleaning, instead of a little every day, but he helps... lol!

Been a homemaker for 56 years. Never had a dishwasher. I wash, my sweet husband dries. Kept us so close, for better or for worse. Hashed out so many problems without a war.
We bought this house about 10 years ago. It has a working dishwasher but I have never once used it. To me, clearing and wiping etc is half the job and that still has to be done even with a dishwasher. I am older now but I raised 11 children without a dishwasher ( my choice). I am sure we are the exception and not the rule. lol
