- Update: Watch • OSRS Leagues IV - Guid... . I know it's long so only watch the route section if you can't be assed watching the entire thing.
Update: Jagex has announced 5t weapons will become 2t and the droprate is x5 instead of x3, which invalidates some of the things in this video. tldr: Crossbows good. Asgarnia good for Ranged.
--------------
There is a bunch of information about Leagues IV that we don't know. But what we do know is the areas and the uniques within these areas. Because it is safe to assume that Jagex will probably give us the range/melee/magic relics as an option, we can theorycraft some routes with this information.

I am uploading a V4 right now. It is 2 hours long and goes into all 8 tiers of relics. It is done in one sitting so it has some production errors.
Jagex is dropping bombs on us in the form of teasers. 5t weapons are also 2t. Droprate is 5x. My current idea is to wait until everything is announced until uploading a final video.
Legit changes most of this strat. Lmao. Good work though bro
I was just about to drop a comment about thoughts on tbow vs shadow now with 2t speed and 5x droprate
Still so unsure, either way the skill level for end game pvm for me will be climbing
Seems like im leaning towards mage build kandarin desert zeah
The 2t cbow meta completely changes all my ranged relic plans D: can't wait for your next version so I can get my head around it
Excellent. Thank you. Your videos on this are always very well made ❤
i actually wouldnt mind a 4hr deep dive tbh
Fr, fuck me up mr youtuber
My very first thought. "I could go for four hours, but I don't think that's what the people want."
Osrs players statistically love long video essays way more than the average audience member.
I'll think about it. I have a tendency to ramble on endlessly. I think I said what I wanted to say about this topic so maybe when all relics are available I'll take a last look at the routes and options we have.
Same, but one closer to release
Obviously I'm just one dude, but I'd 100% listen to a 4 hour long deep dive
One note about the previous morytania tasks, the nightmare tasks were before Phosani's were released, with that said, Phosani's is balanced around solo kills so it would make inquisitors/staves that much easier to get compared to last league
Apparently, the droprates are also buffed by up to x5. Inquisitor is much more easier to get. twitter.com/OldSchoolRS/status/1720472209670488159/photo/4
Nice break down! I’m going tir/des/asg for range and practice inferno…then other account mage…kandarin and desert…and wait for leaks to pick last region but wildy seems like east points
My idea for the ranged route: desert + asgarnia. With weapon specialist, lightbearer and zcb you can do some shenanigans with ruby bolt specs.
I like this idea.
Great video. Looking forward to what you have to say once more info is released. I'm personally thinking a melee route: desert, asgarnia, morytania. Not sure on the order yet though. Hoping a 2 tick scythe, fang, soulreaper axe will be pretty fun
No such luck. They already announced combat relics. Ranged 5t weapons will become 2t, but melee 5t weapons will only be 3t due to differences in rounding. Which also makes every recommendation in this video moot.
@@ta2034 Where did they say that about melee weapons? How does 5 ticks round differently depending on weapon type... it's still 5?
@@buttcake Yeah, ignore me. I completely misread the relic text. My bad.
Thanks for the regular uploads mate.
I think I'm gonna start 2 accounts:
Ranged: Zeah/Asgarnia/Tiranwyn
Mage: Kandarin/Desert/Fremmy
Probably will end up stopping the account I'm having less fun on. Or just go all in on passive afk training relics for 1 of them.
Fremenik does provide the assembler, venator bow, and venator ring if you take desert. Not totally bad for ranged, but not really strong enough for a major pick unless you want other stuff there.
Venator seems insane for stuff like slayer tasks where you just want to dps as many mobs as you can with as little as possible interaction
I think KDA is being slept on for the magic route. Yes there's no direct upgrade to your magic ability, but you get whisperer, which shadow completely shreds, making for a very easy virtus grind. You do not want to be doing 500+ DT2 bosses off-style.
Furthermore, it rounds out your melee and range styles quite well, even giving you a very solid spec weapon in case a spec relic comes around, in the form of zaryte crossbow(whether or not you can actually get it is a separate story).
Finally, all four of the gwd bosses get completely dominated by the shadow, making for probably quite easy task farming.
Thank you for this
For tasks and points this route may be very good.
Agreed, it looks like KDA and DZA are the two most balanced routes across all 3 combat styles. DZA probably takes the most advantage of having a strong loadout in all 3 styles, as you have 2 raids to work through. Was considering running a KDA ranger, maining ballista/zcb.
I think you should consider some combination of Kourend, Desert, Fremmy for a magic route. Ancient Sceptre, virtus/ancestral (light mystic if you're unlucky), ToA and CoX, Kodai/Shadow as chase items, magus ring, etc. To me it seems like the content route for a magic build. You do lose the qol of a powered staff and the huge dps boost of occult and tormented bracelet though.
Droprate is confirmed x5 for Leagues 4! My point about tbow/inquis still stands. Make sure to consider the grind that may be ahead of you.
void waker spec under the mage route should be pretty wild
Zeah > Morytania > Asgarnia in that order. I chose this to have an extremely rounded setup with two raids available to me for anti-burnout. Piety is a 5% and 8% increase over the next highest melee str/att prayers so not that significant. Fun route! Claws and God swords with spec relic! Zcb! Let us goooo!!!!!
Im currently thinking of going a mage route with the relic but skipping kandarin. Swapping it for asgarnia or something else just gives a lot more room in the rest of the gear department before going into raids. Otherwise the best range setup for toa and cox would be like black dhide with a rune crossbow and my best melee setup would be obsidian with a whip. I feel zeah is mandatory just for its size and skilling opporitunities and cox
Don't forget for ranged that Asgarnia gives max cape and Kandarin gives range cape which act as accumulators (range cape obviously much easier to obtain, both aren't as good as an assembler but not bad either). Mory+Asg also gives accumulator but thats a shit route for range.
Also with regards to points. I totted up the points/tasks from Kourend in leagues 3 since it wasn't available in leagues 2 - it had 172 tasks specific to that area worth nearly 30k points - i.e. twice as many tasks that were worth 3x as many points as any region from leagues 2 (highest from leagues 2 was 81 tasks in Kandarin and 10.5k points in Mory). This means that many of the tasks are likely to be removed from Kourend (e.g. all the interval hydra kills)
hoping there's some relic options for hybrid damage, as the ballista route is also just a magic route
If we don't get attack speed halving, Kandarin suddenly becomes very interesting. I wonder what Jagex is going to do.
Worth noting that Chompy kill count is included in the minigame buffs, so 8x chompies per kill at highest tier
Yes. JagexArcane has confirmed today Chompy bird killcount among many other things is buffed by the minigame modifier. For me personally, Magic is back on the table.
I feel like I can get a decent magic route without Kandarin by going Wildy, Desert, and Kourend. I get the recommendation just for the reasons you’ve mentioned among others there’s no way I’m picking Kandarin.
I'm really considering fremennik/kandarin for the equipment they offer, but the content and task in those areas feel like would burn me out really quick, does anyone nows anything fun/cool that is available on those areas?
will you be making a 4th video considering they've started releasing teasers like the increased drop rate to 5x LOL
Can you do white on black for the writing this stuffs blinding
New drop rates were revealed today :D Going for Tbow might be more reliable because of the better odds.
Today's leak showed that drop rate boost will go up to 5x. So twisted bow chance is better.
Soulreaper will actually be a 2t weapon which is insane.
I thought soulreaper was impossible because you need Desert + Asgarnia + Kourend + Fremmenik?
@@dustinpeasley2778 They made it to where you can get all the axe pieces from one boss for the league.
TFZ actually sounds fun for the dragon content! Too bad I first want to learn Nex and get good at either ToB or ToA. Wilderniss sounds fun for melee. I may consider MAW over MAK but is Voidwaker really that strong? Stronger than Piety? Wilderniss has such cool options like infinite money from revenants, best prayer training method and black chins although I wouldn't know where to use chins other than MM II dungeon. Maybe on jellies for Laranns keys?
I hope you can teleport from any location in the Wilderniss.
Also I love all wilderniss task whereas I freaking hate monkey laps, demonic gorillas and chompies as you have mentioned.
Looking forward to listening to this. I've been theorycrafting a ton but it's all just come down to any choice will be strong while still missing some things.
I'm leaning Kandarin - Tiranwwn - Desert for range or magic. Magic with just kand and desert is great and tirannwn at least gives magic fang. Ranged I get bp, bowfa, heavy ballista, masori.
If the relics are like last time with one strong combat style, I will probably skip tiranwwn if magic, and if ranged maaaybe skip kandarin but the heavy ballista tempts me.
One issue with melee you said going to POH to restore stats, that will require frem as that is the only way to get gold leaf required for rejuv pool
Yes and no. Teleporting from poh won't trigger last recall so you restore wep spec and prayer in poh. Bank for food if needed and then last recall to boss. I dunno if I said restoring stats but this is what I meant.
@@Velikan314 fair enough i must has miss heard
Well, time to totally remake this video after todays drop 😂
After all relics have dropped I'll take a final look :d
You were not over valuing Piety don't listen to them lol. There was a post recently that displayed the power of piety in clear numbers, at max stats (99/99/99) Piety is equivalent to boosting to in the 140's, I believe 149 Strength but can't remember exactly. Piety is one of the single biggest dps upgrades, similar to how Rigour is perhaps the greatest Ranged dps upgrade behind Tbow (and 99 range of course). Obviously Rigour and Piety aren't mandatory to have good dps and have fun considering the likely combat relics, but you were not wrong in valuing Piety so high, the people who say it isn't are wrong
Thanks. Maybe I should calc it properly myself and squash it once and for all. Either way we explored some non-Kandarin routes this time around.
@Velikan314 I just double checked and found it. When potted with Super Str and Att Piety gives you 140 Attack, 143 Strength, 120 Defence. That's an insane amount of DPS increase
@@yuhhdooddont forget you have to compare piety to the highest melee prayer available. When considering this piety is 5-9% better than said prayers. It's a huge upgrade but if you chose kandarin solely for it it's a choice that needs to be made. Same as picking zeah only for rigour
It's a choice people are going to have to make. For me it was just important to research some alternatives to Kandarin + Asgarnia because those were only options I presented in my previous video.
@@Velikan314 thanks for taking the time to research this! I wager youll have one last video to make, as jagex definitively decides to shake the meta up with their 2 first leaks. I'm pretty sure the combat relics will be overhauled too!
On a ranged route is Kourend worth a pick on Rigour alone?
Maybe not for rigour alone. I would find a main weapon and an armorset in 2 areas and then consider Kourend for Rigour and Thralls. If you don't want to be in Kourend or you wanna go somewhere else. Kourend is the area to drop.
Rigour is around 7% more dps vs eagle eye. It's better than any single upgrade, but if it's the only reason you pick kourend I would advise against it
@@Chucky42069 Main reason is learning solo Chambers and take the learned skills to my ironman after leagues. Also the area is pretty stacked on content as is.
I think you're focusing on dart/blowpipe too much, corrupted bofa solves the ammo requirement without needing an additional area. Leaves room for choosing a task oriented area, or just anything you want to try out (mory for ToB for example). I do think kourend is a must for any range route though for rigour...
i think people dps tested rcb with ruby bolts and it was better than bowfa/full crystal
Jagex have already announced that kourend will be auto unlocked this time round
Where do I find this? Can't find it myself.
@@Velikan314not true
5t weapons are now 2t weapons
5t weps go to 2t
Just a suggestion a blinding white background can be pretty uncomfy. I had to scroll down and just listen to the video because it really hurt my eyes.
I mostly agree with your area analysis, but assuming we get the same relics, or different version of the same relics, is a mistake in my opinion. And I hope it stays that way, the last thing we need is a bunch of zoomers reusing their leagues 2 & 3 strategies. What we need is completely new strategies, so the old ones can go out of the window.
This guide is very wrong for ranged. Tbow is going to be 2 tick. As well as RCB + the buffed proc rates on bolts makes RCB better than/on par with Bowfa. Blowpipe is too inaccurate to be viable in most areas. This Tirannwyn is too overvalued while Kourend is undervalued in your route.
Are you planning to release another video before league start?
Yes. However it's becoming quite an endeavor as Jagex is teasing us up to the final day before release. I personally think you (as a viewer) can still decide on your route a few days after release so I try to get a final video out either tomorrow or the day after.
@@Velikan314 Great, your videos are much better than the ones from more popular content creators. And sure, it will still be helpful for most people even few days after release.
