      It's pretty cool. Been there again a few weeks ago again. Bray and Clontarf are the areas we've been to most in Ireland by now.

    I'm loving these videos!! Bray is beautiful... can't wait to see the next location.
    My husband and I are moving to Ireland next year and while we love Dublin, we're looking for places just outside of the city. Your videos have been incredibly helpful 😊

      Glad you've been enjoying them. We plan to check out places outside of Dublin too, as we visit more places, so hopefully we visit somewhere you'd like to live soon.

    Bray has a lot of beautiful buildings, houses ect - even moreso than Greystones. Actually the Dart takes well over an hour to get to Tara St with the wind behind it, it's like a donkey is pulling that train. It seems to get more constipated every year ! Oh, and bring ear - buds if using the Dart ( don't ask - but you'll be thankful you did ! )

    I love your videos. They are very informative and fun to watch and listen to. I'm an Irish expat in the process of moving back to Ireland where I grew up. I used to frequent Bray and the Wicklow area and I'm now thinking perhaps to move back there.

      Nice. We've yet to properly visit other parts of Wicklow. I really wonder how much it would have changed for you. We see older photos of even 20 years ago and so many places look so different.

    • @alfie1884
      @alfie1884 3 роки тому

      Things have changed a lot in Dublin City, but outside the city centre everything is still very familiar. When you visit Wicklow next you should visit Powerscourt and Glendalough. Theres a reason why County Wicklow is called the garden of Ireland.

    Beautiful video of Bray! Greystones is another great place to live although probably more expensive than Bray.

      It's definitely on our list. We always did the Bray to Greystones walk twice before but didn't spent much time in either town.

    Place has a nice vibe to it -just begging for a slow Sunday afternoon stroll.

      We weren't expecting the view from the hill, that had some easier paths as well. But the promenade is the star to just walk along.

    Rush is another good option for a coastal town.. It's way more affordable than other places in Fingal, however the transport is pretty terrible so keep that in mind...

    • @WineAndRum
      @WineAndRum  3 роки тому

      Thanks for the suggestion. We haven't been there before and thanks for the transport tip. We've realised some places are not easy to get to without a car even if they're 'close' .

    How about Dalkey? It also has the Bray vibe but is much closer to the city.

      I believe too the standard Bajan accent is more difficult understand than what you could hear on Irish TV. I've heard that some Irish accents in other counties are much harder to understand initially. Haven't encountered them yet, but look forward to it.

    I would always want to live in an area outside the city centre on the Dart. I love the dart and on the first stop you can take bikes into the city when it is not busy hours. A much better way to travel then those ugly double deckers and that damned Luas (why have seats facing each other? Creepy mo'fo's abound there.) Bray would be a good choice. Not gone through any gentrification either. Mr wine has a cool accent that sounds like he is picking up the brogue.

    • @WineAndRum
      @WineAndRum  3 роки тому

      Thanks! All of the ways of transportation, LUAS will forever be the least favourite in Dublin. Since we moved closer to a train station we've been enjoying the DART too.

    Do you find bray can be rough?

    • @WineAndRum
      @WineAndRum  3 роки тому +3

      Haven't stayed around long enough to really know how rough the place is. I know that in past decades parts of it had that reputation. Personal opinion, I think Dublin's been gentrifying rapidly. Where you can live 10 minutes away from a location that isn't actually rough but in comparison it feels like that. Where we were walking, there was nothing that stood out to tell us we should be on our guard in the town centre areas.
