I love this scene and watch it often. It has very deep meanings within it. You have three versions of Ruben. The part that is still full of anger and rage which is his ego. Then you have the regular part of him which is just him and then you have the little scared boy inside. Each facing each other. Ruben is seeing the different parts of himself collide and yet he finds the strength to embrace that scared boy and face his anger. All portrayed beautifully by Denzel. Beautiful. Just beautiful.

I love this film. One of the many times I dealt with depression I use to watch this every night and fall asleep to it. Watched it daily. It helped me thru those days and still helps me. (Call me crazy🤷🏾♂️) to me it’s empowering,motivating. Definitely Oscar worthy. More so than “act” it I think Denzel Lived it. He’s been to “that place” mentally. Felt that way. Human.
