The rail gets fed directly from the pump. There is a suction control valve selonoid on the main injection pump that controls the flow to the rail. With ignition switch on it should have power. 2 wires so easy checked. If it's getting power you should feel it buzzing slightly. If not it will be knackered. If this is working and you are getting fuel from the low pressure pump to the one on the engine. Then afraid to say but the main pump is knackered. Easy to change. 20 minutes job👍

@@MrGodsking flood damage to old engine and the ECU was damaged. Also someone else fitted an engine and messed up the wiring. The chip in the key was swapped from the donor vehicle but they never changed the engine ECU and imobaliser unit. I had an old style ducato with reconditioned fuel pump but cracked block due to frost damage. So swapped the head and fuel pump bracket for the mechanical setup. Pulled like a train and no smoke. 100% reliable with zero sensors to give me problems in my ownership.

You will need a iveco 2.8tdi cylinder head and fuel pump and which the whole unit bolts on the 2.8 hdi engine. Just make up a throttle pedal and use a cable. Everything else is the same
