I was in 3rd grade when covid hit, and nothing ever was the same. I couldn't go outside, see my friends, and it forced me to mature way too fast. My childhood was taken from me by something no one could fix. Even when it started blowing over, nothing was ever the same. I'm 14 now, but I'm still a kid. My childhood was computer school, zoom, and television. I didn't get to go outside and explore things with my friends, I didn't get big slumber parties and coloring books and talking about crushes. I got screens. And part of me still mourns my lost childhood. I'm about to go into high school, but I'm not ready. Time for me is still stuck in fourth grade. And even when I graduated elementary and covid slowed, I still needed to be an adult at age 11. My grandpa died, I moved, and I was SA'd every day for a year. This all happened within a few months of each other. And Im sad and angry and jealous of those who had normal childhoods. I have always felt like this music perfectly captures that. When I found weird core/trauma core I finally felt understood.
Indeed, there is something about this music that truly invokes such resonating feelings. I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that, I hope you're in a safer, happier place now
I love dreamcore/weirdcore it can be so calming and maybe male me a little uncomfortable at times, but it is one of my favorite fandoms, I listen to these playlist when im trying to sleep or doing work to help me calm down if I'm ever sad, stressed or mad. And don't ask how many fandoms I'm in, I like too many fandoms to count.
