Just like to say thank you ! excellent video and a great help in setting up my Tonex . One thing I did do instead of altering the mic distances etc. was just to turn the speaker mod off completely on the Boss GTK, therefore bypassing the speaker and mic options. sounds so much better and you can feel the difference when your playing. keep up the great work Cheers Dave
Hi Dave, my pleasure man & thank you for taking the time to feedback 🙏🏼, hope you’re well! Yes you are spot on but what I was trying to say (& maybe I didn’t put it across well in this vid) is that even though the cabs are turned off I still noticed a difference to the sound when adjusting the mics on GT (even though they were off) & that I found the settings I used in this vid to be balanced. How’re you getting on with ToneX? & what sort of amps/tones do you like playing?
@@planzed.2 WOW , thats incredible, I don't know if my ears are that perceptive , but I will give it a go and see if I can tell the difference. I am absolutely loving the Plexi in all its forms, having played the real thing (many moons ago) and Twin reverbs etc they are all so good, I really am so impressed by the lifelike character of the Amp profiles in all their formats. I seem to have turned down the treble on a lot of the models, but that could be to do with my speakers rather than the profiles themselves ? I use two headrush112. All in All I am blown away by the feel not just the sound. it feels like a real amp ! even at low volumes (not that I am known for playing quiet!). It compliments the GTK so much, as I have amazing modular effects to go with the whatever amp I can dream of! This is a real glorious combination. And to be honest because of your complete unselfish nature in posting such amazing videos ,me and many others can really enjoy the delights of Both the GTK and the ToneX Cheers x
Oh, and one further note .The Gibson Les Paul is not my favourite guitar by any means, BUT God it sounds so bloody amazing , its as though every guitar Amp ever made was made for a Les Paul ?😂
@@DaveMarples duuuude you just made my day - thank you! Really great to hear you’re lovin it, I gotta agree, those Plexi’s are fantastic!! Like you I’ve owned a couple & it took me straight back, they nailed the low-end response & I reckon this really helps with the feel.. I mean that low end thump, so good!
@@DaveMarples 😂🤚 funny, I am a Les Paul guy every day of the week all my life, for me Marshall & Les Paul were made for each other but I got my first Tele a in 2020 & freakin love it!! Oh do it!!! I gotta say I’m really enjoying mine & I haven’t even connected to the internet. Thanks for checking out this vid 🙏, hope you’re well & happy new year, maybe treat yourself to some new amps via Tonex

that scrolling screen though.... gets on me Sh!@#ts... hahahaha, don't sound half bad tho! - perhaps one day they'll play catch up with the "hands on approach" the other brands have had years to perfect. But everyone seems to be setting theirs up on PC and then sending to the pedal, you're the right guy to be testing "getting your hands dirty" with the unit. Good luck bruv !
Oh mate, your not wrong - this screen kills me!! 😂 A bit of a head wrecker without a computer, like being back in the 80’s only the screen jumps around like it’s got genz issues 😂 but yea there are some good presets to work with (& as usual a load of not so good). I haven’t even touched cabs yet.
Hi Paul, a great video explaining how to connect it all up. I've got a Gt100 personally and the process looks rather similar. Now, I understand how to connect the GT to the ToneX via the 4 cable method, using the send and return. However, I've also got an Electro Harmonix Cathedral Reverb pedal and I'm unsure as to where I would put this in my chain? Would It go GTR -> GT100 -> (SEND RETURN to TONEX) -> GT100 OUTPUT -> Cathedral Reverb -> PA/DESK
Hey Harry, thanks for checking this vid out, glad you’ve found it useful - hope you’re well! Yes, you could hook things up the way you mentioned but there’s a couple of ways to go as ToneX has 2 outputs… does GT100 allow stereo send/return?

@@planzed.2 Yeah, I will do actually. Still awaiting my ToneX pedal, in the post actually haha. Was planning on getting a Kemper until I heard about this pedal. I'll let you know how it sounds. Cheers for the advice!
@@harrylyle5938 awesome! Bet you’re excited! Don’t forget to watch the return level in GT vs the output of ToneX (ToneX is line lvl so if you can’t manage to return lvl in your GT then just lower the ToneX output to compensate- if that makes sense?).
Is it possible to use Tonex with Impulse Response from GT 1000? Because I intend to make a routing with 2 outputs (1 with impulse response and another without impulse response for the amp)
Hey Robson, yes , we can split our outputs (say xlr sub out to FOH & main 1/4” outs to your power amp & cab) but would need to make sure you set each output correctly (easy!)… that said I thought ToneX needs to see a power amp not just IRs? I’m planning on trying Cab M on mine but if you’ve tried 3rd party IRs you can load them to GT & save to main output (in your case. Hope this makes sense?
Hi man, sorry to hear you’re having a bad experience with FRFR… I’ve stayed away from them as I haven’t met anyone yet with a set they love & those that do I don’t like their tone! 😂 Joking aside, I think they’re a good idea but there are very few good ones from what I understand watching comments in feeds. However those using a separate power amp & guitar cab seem really happy with their tones so I’d say there might be something to that. Are you in a position to experiment?

@@MichaelMoore-od4jz I've yet to hear a tone from a frfr monitor, that sounds as good as plugging into the return of a valve amp.
