Just downloaded matchless pack. It’s the best sound I’ve had so far in all my years of gear buying. I love the hx stomp but the tonex is another level up in sound. My desire for a top end fender tube amp is no longer there. I feel I have the ability to get whatever I’m after with the tonex and decent patches from top guys/girls like studio rats👍

The Matchless pak is stunning. buying that soon as my tonex gets here this week. Thanks so much for the hard work on these. I love that drives are included, just one less pedal to mess with leaving me with my halo delay. Keeping it simple.

Congratulations on being chosen as a Tone Partner, reflects all the hard work that you put into the Tonex platform .These all sound really good and I hope that they sell well. I’m really interested in how you set up your interface levels for capturing and wondered if you have ever done a video on this. I’ve tried the approach that Jason Sadites uses, matching the levels coming from the audio interface to match the level of your guitar running into the amp. Realise there’s lots of ways to do this so very interested in other options/ opinions.
Cheers Duncan, I haven't done a video on this, to be honest it's really easy with Tonex capture as you set the levels as instructed. there really is no reason to do anything any different as it tells you the optimum level,
It’s really hard to find great quality packs/presets out there, but The Studio Rats packs are probably the best ones I’ve heard. I’ll purchase from you guys once I receive my Tonex Pedal next week. Thanks and I hope you continue making more packs! Maybe heavier modern stuff… that maybe asking too much, but no harm for me in asking I guess 😊

These sound excellent! Great work. I can definitely see a scenario in which a Tone X pedal with these packs + a Relish guitar with a few different pickup types would be a killer travel option. Especially with a pair of small iLoud monitors.
My ‘ garden rig’ is IPad Tonex and an IK iLoud monitor with an iRig Pro. All battery powered, great for sitting around in summer. Combined with AUM or Audiobus for adding extra effects. Only issue is you can only load captures from ToneNet and at present can’t load in the new packs…

Sounds great! I want you to know that I own a Kemper Stage and a Quad Cortex. I have wanted to try the Tonex for a while, if for no other reason, it's a smaller form factor to incorporate into my pedalboard. After hearing your packs I bought the Tonex from Sweetwater last night. Question, does the new Matchless pack include all of the amp captures from the 1st pack, or are they completely different?

I like the amps in Tonex and your studio packs and I am considering purchasing a Tonex. My question is, am I able to get virtual effects from IKMultimedia and set them up in my ToneX. For example, lets say I want to get a harmonizer VR pedal. Or am I limited?
Do you have a list of input trim recommendations for these? I’m finding that adjusting that makes such a difference on the Tonex. I’m finding that 4 seems to work really well for me with the Matchless Independence Ch 1 😊
Hi Kristen, The input trim is guitar dependent not capture dependent. You’ll need to lower it for higher output pickups and vice versa for lower gain pickups.

My comment keeps getting deleted...It has nothing bad in it and it's not directed at you but is somewhat critical of the move tonex is making and how this is likely going to create a 2 tier system of everyone paywalling advanced captures including ikmultimedia and just having standards available even if you have bought the pedal and are supposed to have tonex max by default which is meant to include everything.... There are 106 partner packs ALREADY, priced about £20each so if you want all the packs its gonna cost £2000 and this is just the beginning, its a slippery slope, and a bad move i feel as what incentive is there for ik to make improvements, updates and expansions when you will do it for them and they are charging additional for it....., and now why would any users give any of their advanced captures away when they can sign up the partner program and charge for it... Its kinda left a sour taste in my mouth thinking ik was gonna do something great for musicians and now they are just using tonenet to skim the best people making captures, getting them to make packs, then charging a premium price for it..... And was Joe Bonamasa' and pack a one off marketing ploy to get people to buy the pedal and all future artist packs will be like 40-50quid and not included in tonex max?
@rhoydotp there are like 3 types of captures and obviously the advanced capture is best but alot of content creators release standard captures and kept the advanced captures for premium packs, seems like this will now continue to happen and more frequently as tonex is officially endorsing this practice by making them official partners where they can charge £20-30 or more a pack And the partners will be taken from tonenets most popular uploaders so skimming the people with the best amps and making it premium content, which just means who will want to give advanced captures for free if they can hold them back and charge money for them when they are made partners... Rather than having an ecosystem based on sharing its going to turn in a system of premium packs with all the crap captures left over for free.. So rather than tonex max being a complete package there is now a tier of premium content above it with multiple captures of the same amp meaning ikmultimedia won't bother to do it themselves and offer it as part of tonex max. So we paid for limited captures of each amp and an incomplete 'max ' software....
I think the problem is there is so much you need to sift through and let’s be honest a lot of the captures are not great. So IK wants to have a platform of people that are used to recording and creating guitar tones so people can download great usable tones. The free sharing is still available.
I think that the work going into some captures needs to be considered. I’ve put a few on ToneNet but for me they are mainly for my own use, I get a sound that I like and hit capture, then put on ToneNet so I can transfer from PC to my iPad. People can use them if they want and I’ve had some nice positive comments. However what I do is very different than someone who produces captures to sell does, I haven’t invested in the equipment to do that at a high enough level, have no intention of spending the hours mastering the system or the putting in background work behind it all. For those that do good luck to them and I hope they sell enough to keep the wider system running and viable.
It sort of creates a funny conflict of interest, if they make advanced captures faster and easier, they wont be able to make money off of them as well.
They need to concentrate more on making the software more efficient, and integrating it with amplitude 5.. rather than just helping the parasites sell tone models.. that you can download for free anyway... that's not what the platform was developed for I thought it was for people to freely share amp captures...

the thing is, amp sims, profilers, tonex tone models, all of them are full of presets that aren't mix ready. as someone who records music its annoying. i find myself spending tons of time creating my own presets that i can load up, record and export with minimal effort. i would argue, that these mix ready tones are actually what you should be using even for practice. I've been in a lot of bands where guitar players, bass players, don't understand what their guitar tone should sound like in a band context. guitars don't need a ton of low end. even for practice, you don't need low end. get a bass if you want low end

When you demo the different amps is your guitar volume knob turned all the way up? This makes a huge difference in how the sounds are portrayed.

You can run into the fx loop on the amp 1. youll need to turn off the Speaker sim in the tonex.
