Saw a guy many years ago during a match touch the ball down at the 5 meter line thinking he just scored the game winning try. Our winger picked it up and ran it all the way down for the actual winning try. Needless to say that guy did NOT leave the bar anywhere near sober thanks to his own teammates!
My mate did this same thing haha except nobody was there to actually claim the try
Happened to me, I touched the ball down thinking it was try line so it would go for a 22 drop out. Winger came in and grabbed the ball off me and ran over for a try. I then looked over at the goalposts realizing it was the 5 metre🤦
Our scrum half once also lost a try in the exact opposite way. Ran through the whole try zone and off the pitch before putting the ball down.
The ref who drank with that guy that night was apperently the ref of our game the next day, because in that game an opponent touched the ball down at the 5 meter line and the ref, still drunk, awarded the try. We were so thrilled.

仲間も相手もどうして良いか分からず動きが止まってしまってな。
レフリーが冷静にノットリリース取って相手にペナルティを献上したけど。
さすがにアレは高校卒業するまで語り継がれたよ（笑）

Either something happened during the - pitch invader that interfered with the kicker - OR the allowed time - think its 90s - has elapsed
