This is insane. Absolutely insane... Boxy Pixel is a hero. The man took what could've been low quality 3d printed gameboy shells or hour long selfmade shells into something so simple and beautiful. This looks amazing! Respect for both Kite, Boxy pixel, and yourself. Thanks for such a great and informative video!

I’ve gone for the Retro Game Restore - GPiMate Plus for CM4 Lite to fit in the Gpicase which will give Pi4 performance, however the case is no where near as sexy as BoxyPixels. I have a BoxyPixel Gameboy Macro case and it’s quality is second to none. Love the videos and your calm and confident presentation style keep up the good work!!

If it has built in wifi, from a WIndows computer I believe you can just open an Explorer (file explorer not Internet Explorer) window and type in \

super glad you got it up and running! that thing looks like it could break a toe if dropped lol, Id probably find some way to delete the joystick, seems more of a detriment than a feature that Id actually use for serious gameplay, loving what the community is building around the RPI CM3 module, I just recently put in a preorder for the clockworkpi devterm and its powered on the same module, seeing it emulating stuff that well makes me excited to do some dos gaming on the devterm! would love to see the circuit sword redesigned to utilize the pimoroni hyperpixel display, that seems to be the biggest shortcoming with these rpi handhelds, is that they all use cheap screens but at that BOM price point I can understand the incentive to go for a budget display

USB ethernet makes transfering SO MUCH easier.

That sounds great! WiFi is a bit slow for transferring roms.

Yeah. Especially when transferring iso files. At 600mb a pop, it gets so tedious for sure.

Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Z fighters could play that heavy thing all day long with no fatigue.

I just don't see the point with Pi CM3 based handhelds like this considering how expensive they are compared to other handhelds you can buy especially this BoxyPixel one. You can get almost the exact same performance out of a 70 dollar Retroid Pocket 2 or the tons of other handhelds in the 100 dollars price range. Until someone starts producing handheld boards for the Pi 4 CM4 I just don't see Raspberry Pi based handhelds being worth the price especially with expensive aluminum BoxyPixel shells.

i hate when the action buttons doesnt play more or less symmetry to the d-pad, yeah, i get that they respect the position of the two buttons from the og game but still... odd

I would love to see Boxy Pixel make a shell for the wii portable kit that came out recently. Seems like it would be the ultimate emulation handheld.

This thing looks like it would be so uncomfortable and bad to play with. Why not at least mount a joystick like the 3ds's where the Dpad is? Where it is would be so uncomfortable to use.

There is an account on Instagram called haihaisb which makes a lot of mods for gameboy like this, personally I don't like it but it's interesting and awful how he puts 3 handhelds in one.

Have you tried the USB method for transferring roms? retropie.org.uk/docs/Transferring-Roms/. This worked best for me. I myself had many problems transferring roms and what I found was that some ISPs block networking with my PC to raspberry pi. In my experience Mediacom doesn't work. Spectrum and T-mobile work. Very nice video. I was fortunate to be able to build this when boxy pixel first released the shell.

A 1lb portable console doesn't sound very comfortable to use for any sort of length of time. lol
