I'm ashamed to admit that, in spite of being a lifetime lover and collector of Latin music (I'm 73) ,I've only recently discovered this SENSATIONAL musician,(Thanks UA-cam). Can't wait to discover more - Fabulous!!
incredibly hard. def a legend already, but he is way too much into his power, incredible capabilities that too often is way over the top. he plays for himself to impress and not to really serve the melodic sensibilities of the song...In wise words of Peter Parker's uncle, "With great power comes great responsibility."..No taste after all
@@octopuliander6291 I hear what you're talking about. But he is playing over a common Latin vamp that invites this kind of pyrotechnics. I do agree with your observations, though.
@@justicetruth5456 Totally agree ,Satchmo is certainly the founding father of these particular notes, thanks for your reply.Faddis is an extraordinary descendant of such master.
Got turned on to him a couple years ago Excellent trumpet player the control of those high notes is amazing the emotion, technically perfect. The new Rafael Mendez all he needs to do is play that while rotating the horn upside down like Mendez.
the very fist thing he played was a trill, then his next attack started off as a flutter tongue but then he went back to normal after the start of the note
Why do people think they still need intro clips to UA-cam videos. I can see the name of your channel right there. The sub button is visible but I’m not going to click a new one that has 15s of intro bs on every 5m video
Its pretty sad when a chick in a low cut shirt plays something like smoke on the water on guitar and gest millions of views.. meanwhile this only gets 80k. It shows how uncultured todays world is.
I understand the sentiment, but I think the size of the online audience is not a valuable aspect of music. It's different for live concerts with a crowd though... There is interaction then, the crowd conributes to the music. The amount of youtube views though: who cares? We enjoy this, we watch this. They enjoy that, they watch that.
@@papalovegood7323 Fair analysis, but exposure is relevant. This man deserves more accolades for his talent. Whether hes content with his audience or not, the world needs him more.
Muy bien, pero yo no oigo nada en ese solo que no se haya diho antes. Es el mismo discurso de siempre, mismos adornos, mismo estilo. Para mi, Julio Padron y Chapotin son los unicos que han creado su propio estilo.

Same here. Same day, a few hours behind.
@@Zeesboy especially n this case , it's better late then never... BTW this is my 1st time hearing, appreciating and loving this artist and I'm 69
Jaycooper2624 : Jon Faddis, James Morisson, Maynard Ferguson etc.
As a trumpet player in my younger years those high notes are a gift from God. It a gift for his song.
Some people don't realize how hard it is to hit those high notes like that. He's a legend already !
I know how hard it is :'(
Me too. Super hard. Not like bass. 😎

What is this genre called? I want to find more like it. Like the older stuff that this was inspired by.
This is : son clásico cubano .
Got turned on to him a couple years ago Excellent trumpet player the control of those high notes is amazing the emotion, technically perfect.

Sucesor de Arturo Sandoval, muy buen talento e instrumentista.
More soulful than Arturo.

Jazz latino with heavy Cubano influence...like Latin America culture.

Was he flutter tounging in the beginning
No, it's called "Tremolo"
Yes.
the very fist thing he played was a trill, then his next attack started off as a flutter tongue but then he went back to normal after the start of the note
Por dios,el tumbador que se calle. Es un solo de trompeta,no de conga.
No hay bomba cubana.

The video is 6 years old, cut them some slack.
no foreplay nothing that hurts just playing all these same licks and rhythms no soul there just technic
