Many people love Arturo's high notes, I love his middle and lower range, just clean and full and not really a Arturo fan but respect him big-time. Doc is amazing especial at his age, I loved the violinist and the guitar player, much respect to all those musicians on stage.
What a beautiful music from a bunch of dedicated and free artists!! Each of them is a legend!! Look how they compliment each other and show love and respect to each other.
Doc was born in 1927 as said in Spanish above. Whether Doc. can still play at age 93/94, I bet the music is alive and well in his brain and whatever he can move. Tribute to the great trumpeters I've known: Harry James, Diz, and Ray Anthony.
Doc was amazing here at age 83 or so...A lot of professional trumpeters can still play at this age maybe, but hitting the notes like Doc does ???? My lips hurt just to think about it.
WOW WOW WOW !!!!
Excellent! The physicality of a Horn Player never ceases to amaze me. It becomes such a stressful physical challenge - especially as we age. Artuo and Doc were great. The guitarist and violin player were awesome as well.
This was such a cool surprise. To see Doc Severinson and Arturo Sandoval and Jimmy Branly playing together. All of the musicians were excellent and the arrangement of the tune was great.
Wonderful music, arranged and played beautifully by true musicians, I enjoyed and keep enjoying this every time I watch it. Congratulations to them all ...!!!
True geniuses. As a musician I am in awe of their talent. I’d say God given, but that is also decades of practice & fine tuning showing in their mastery of each of their instruments. I still get chills watching masters of their crafts.

God exists, creation bears witness to it, but sin separates us from Him, and we sins and deserve the Hell, that is why He sent His Son Christ to live a Holy life, die on a Cross paying the penalty for our sins, saving His chosen ones of condemnation, dark powers and curses, reconciling us with God only by Faith in Jesus and His Sacrifice, *not by works,* so that no one can boast, Giving us Eternal Life, God bless you. Glory be to the Father, to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
Doc Severinsen always talks about practice, practice, practice. He never wants any young people to think that his own sound came to him without lots of work. That embouchure is the result of the hours put in daily.
i wouldn't say God given...Maybe genetics plays a small part. But the key factors are exposure to music from an early age, access to an instrument, supportive adults....Then practice, practice, practice then more practice. there are master musicians who believe in different religions & no religion at all. What they have in common is those things i mentioned. Did I mention practice? Well i'll say it again.
Doc is about 83 years old here, and still hitting the high notes. Pretty amazing! But at least he expected to play. If I understand this correctly, Arturo was just an audience member, called up on stage and handed a trumpet (not his own trumpet, I assume?), and he lays THAT down?!!! Don't think I've ever heard a trumpet go that high before. Edit: Also love how that guitar player is the train track that everyone else rides on in this arrangement. He did a beautiful job.

How anyone can hit the dislike button- I will never know! I LOVE THIS! ❤️❤️❤️ 🎺 I see Doc locally around town here in Maryville & Knoxville Tennessee. What a Legend! What a man!
Doc's reaction when he hears Arturo play is quite a poem. He seems to be moved by every note that Arturo plays, as if the trumpet were a bow shooting arrows and piercing each limb. INCREDIBLE!!!

Rafael Mendez was my inspiration when first playing the Trumpet then hearing these legends was incredible.
The mic was set so low when Arturo went up that you could barely hear the 1st minute of his playing. This a testimony to Doc's raw power.
Love the "I'm not worthy" look on Doc's face as Arturo starts to play.
