  • Do you want to hide the wires of your wall mounted TV in the wall? If so, you've found the right video! This is the correct way to hide your wall mounted TV wires.
This installation turned out much harder than I expected because I ran into a few obstacles along the way. However, it came out great in the end.
In this video, I'll show you how to install a new Legrand Recessed TV Media Box behind your TV and a low voltage brush cover at the bottom. Once installed, you can pass the HDMI cable and ethernet cable through the brush cover and plug the TV into the new receptacle.

Excellent video!! My curiosity got the best of me of wanting to know how flat screen tvs hung on the wall sight unseen. You're a true professional!

I Respect You Keeping All the Hurdles
You Came Across In There.. Makes The Video Authentic.. It’s Definitely A lot Simpler With No Insulation And A Random Stair Frame LoL..

Nice video. I think I found the product on HD. For the electrical connection, I wish you showed us how (I see you chose not to due to liability, but if you had a big splash screen with warnings, you can get away with it; lots of electrical diy YT videos do that). But the procedure, I guess, would be that you have to connect a romex cable (14/2 or 12/2 to match the existing romax) to the legrand surge outlet first. Then bring that romex to the bottom existing outlet on your wall and then connect white to white, black to black and ground to ground with a pigtail and wire nuts to get the power?

Yes, that's basically how it's done. Sorry for not showing it. I rather er on the side of caution than deal with someone doing something stupid and blaming me for it!

what tool did you use to cut the dry wall? i've never seen a small battery saw like that.

I used a Ryobi oscillating multi tool with a plunge saw blade attached. It works great for things like that.

Wondering if it wouldn't have been easier to run the wires before installing the boxes

    • @JaredDesrosiers
      @JaredDesrosiers  3 роки тому

Yeah, it would have been. That's a good idea. You would just need to be careful when installing the boxes not to damage the cords.

I’ve got my router, satelite box, sound bar, camera box, monitor for the cameras, tv wires, surround sound wires. Looks like a jungle. Don’t think this would be practical for me

You’re lucky you didn’t run into fireblock. That’s where the real frustration comes.

The Geek Squad will do this for $125, I'm not sure why anyone would go through all this hassle to save a few bucks.

This would save you roughly $100+ of those dollars as long as you have the tools.

Of course I wired it. I didn't show that part due to liability risks.

With masonry walls, one is going to need a different approach, you can either notch out a long one inch strip for the trunking to fit in and have it finished almost flush... then skim over with a thin coat of mud or drill straight through the wall and have the trunking come down on the other side of the wall! (Which is what I've done) "where there is a will there is a way"
Here you go you can see the finished result..

That’s just your opinion, Jamie. As someone who’s planning on installing one of these, I’m a lot more prepared after watching this video. We have differing opinions on the video, I thought it was great. Lighten up
