      I use pipe cleaners. I feel as though using metal cleaning rods may scratch the inside of the piccolo.

      Pipe cleaners production quality is very wide spread so I would be very careful. Plus there not very absorbent.

      I’ve got something like a pipe cleaner what is designed for the piccolo but it’s really hard to use as it gets stuck easily in the smaller end

    I never would have thought to use cheesecloth! I have a conical bore piccolo and my cleaning rod won't go all the way through so what I did was stitch a string to the end of a strip of cloth and I feed the string through and use it to pull the cloth through. I also use a polishing cloth to remove any finger prints or smudges before I put my flute in the case. I have acidic skin and if I don't do that my flute will tarnish :)

      cheesecloth works wonders. A lot can go a long way, just make strips with scissors. Thanks for watching by the way! Hope to see you again in the comments.

      @@flutechannel what can I use as a substitute for a cleaning rod (for a piccolo) ? My flute cleaning rod is too big to fit in the piccolo and I don’t want to damage it.

      I'm not too sure what could be a replacement. I would order one from Amazon or w music shop. it's not expensive and worth getting.

    I use a Valentino Piccolo Wand, it's a little pricey (just over $30) but well worth the money.

    Is it just me or is the use of a metal rod risky. Would not plastic or wood be recommended?

    • @flutechannel
      @flutechannel  Рік тому +1

      It is and isn't if properly wrapped there would be no damage. There are some rods now that come completely covered so damage is quite limited.
