    Nice video, can't wait to have a go at the seafoam trees, had a big box that I got ages ago at a garden centre sale. You're the first person who I've seen seal the trees before anything is stuck to it. I'll keep that in mind. Cheers, John.

      Hi John, don't know if the glue mix sealant does anything positive?, the paint certainly necessary to get the trunk/branch colour. Only time will tell really if they stay in one piece or disintegrate later? I'll be spraying the new plants with a glycerine mix when they are ready for picking. Thanks for watching and your comments are always most appreciated, cheers, Andy

    Hi Andy, great update the attention to detail is great - THF hotel! Forgot all about that brand👍
    I will borrow your idea of gluing the odd shapes of sea foam together to make some trees - I never thought of that🤔so obvious.
    Thanks for sharing & for the shout out😃
    Cheers John B

    Hi Andy nice video. I like how you've blended the card kits with scratch build and kit bashed buildings. Looks really effective. I like to use seafoam trees also and mix them with bought trees to make up woodland areas. Some of the small broken pieces from the bottom of the box I use as small shrubs or brambles. Enjoying your content cheers Andy

      Thanks very much Andy, much appreciated. I've made loads of scratch builds but they've not all come out right, good thing is I can keep trying new ideas till they are layout worthy 😁 thanks for your comment, ATB....Andy

      Thanks Phil, unfortunately most of it is now dismantled (see my "Last Running Session" video. Not to worry though, a new layout is in the planning and I'll be starting the new baseboards this Autumn. All the best.......Andy

    Hi Andy - The layout is looking very good indeed and love those 2 new additions. Also thanks for the demo on Seafoam trees and they have come out very well. I have some seafom and was wondering what method to use so i shall give it a go. Cheers Kev

      Hi Kev, thanks for your kind comment. Yes, I'm very happy with my two new loco's, I like to run slow realistic speeds and having decent motors really helps. The trees are really simple to make & good results can be achieved with basic scatters, i can't wait for my new batch to grow so I can make some more :) Take care my friend & all the best, Andy

    Hi Andy, love the lighting, looks really effective, Thanks for the shout out and showing how you made your trees, you make it look so easy, I must have a go. Think It will take to long to grow it! where can I buy some? All the best. Glynn

      Hi Glynn, many thanks for your kind comment. I got my seafoam from Country Scenes but Martin retired recently so it's no longer available. I believe Gaugemaster do a box for about £18. My home-grown plants should be ready in about 6-8 weeks. All the best, Andy.

    Very nice Andy, love your Supermarket. I purchased a box of Seafoam to use when I get to that part of my build. Can I ask what mix of PVA/Water did you use and did you find it effective? Did you just simply dip the Seafoam in the PVA? Simon

    • @Andy-SharlstonEastgate
      @Andy-SharlstonEastgate  4 роки тому

      Hi Simon, thanks for your comment. With the PVA I just mixed up a nice white milky mix, probably about 70/30 in an old ice cream tub, and yes, just dipped them in. Time will only tell if it's been beneficial? I'm thinking maybe the spray paint may be adequate and just as good, we'll see. Cheers, Andy
