Honestly I love playing for my parents lol

Lol, why is dad reading your dvd??
Lol but I'm just loving all the nicknames from Mom.
"tater tot"
"honey bun"
"sugar pie"
"chicken nugget" (my favorite one)
"Nutter butter"
Thanks for continuing to make my day, Elise. :)

YOU FORGOT BILLY BOB
As an Asian, I can not relate at all to this and I just want to cry. I wish there were supports like this from my parents when i was younger. I probably would have done so many things I wanted. I remember the first time I worked in a clay museum in Canada, and some child made a very crappy clay pot and their parents still told them they did a good job and full of creativity, my tears just came out without control. I was never good enough no matter how hard I try and someone is always good enough as long as they try. Good thing is my parents are finally support me now in my late 30s. Late is better than never.
Likewise, find it hard to relate with, thought this was an exaggerated meme at first lol
@@rosh6357 people have different life.
I think there's a balance. All praise and no constructive criticism doesn't help people to grow. It just protects their feelings and gives them an inflated sense of their abilities. That said, just insulting or never recognizing the good, just the bad has its draw backs too. It's kinda discouraging when nothing you do and no matter how hard you try, you can't get any recognition from the people you love.
At least I can relate to your comment, thank you! 😅
Am I allowed to relate even though I'm neither asian nor indian? I also had these strange experiences in my childhood, when I was only able to keep things together by accepting my reality as the standard for a "normal" family pattern and those supportive relationships as "ridiculous fantasies created for tv", but whenever I would whitness a genuine and affectionate moment between other kids and their parents in real life, my bubble would burst and I would cry. When I got older, I was able to only cry internally.
I was also able to participate in different creative projects (like working with clay, painting, drawing, papercrafts, woodwork, singing, sewing, crocheting, acrobatics and others) ocasinally, a few times, loved it, was almost always praised by teachers as an top of the group example and asked to engage further in a regular manner, but my parents wouldn't be able to value it and didn't allow me to take part in additional classes, because it was either inconvenient in some way or they didn't want to spend the money, so they would discourage me from regular creative endevors or sports unless there was a chance to brag about it before others in some way, so then they would suddenly ask me to paint something or sing before their friends or other family members and then I would hate it and feel somehow dirty in that context, when praise was only given about me before others, but not really when it was important to me and no one else was around.
@@Seamannon sorry you have to go through that. Find self worth is a long journey for me as well. Those parenting are not unique to Asians but they are just more often to be seen. Hopefully less and less people will suffer from those. I still have good relationships with my parents, they later on realized what they did were very hard on me. They start to support me way more in my adulthood and I would not be who I am without them. However, those harms were not easy to get over.

Whenever I'd be sitting somewhere in the house struggling to figure out a new chord as a kid, my big bro would sit across from me and just say "booooooooooooo". Loudly.

She's playing 4, just imagine what whould they think about her

Hey adora
YOUR PFP!! ❤️❤️
ok that's not the first time that i see you commenting under one of the videos that i watch and that's kinda creepy
Your mom and dads accent is so beautiful
You all have great parents, when I first play to my mom, she wasn't impressed at all, she just tell that i don't have talent, but this motivate me really hard, now i can play almost all of my favourite pieces on guitar
My parents always told me not to sing, because I just can’t. I’m so confused because people who have heard me sing say I sing well. I know I’m not good, but it’s nice to think someone thinks I’m somewhat tuned. I’m also still very shy to sing in front of people. On the other hand, I love collecting instruments, yet I can barely play anything because I don’t practice. There my parents think I can.. it’s just so confusing. I know I can’t.
@@arcoiris890 Well, maybe start with an instrument that is easier and watch tutorials on how to play your favorite songs. Always think about your favorite songs when you practice, that way, at least you'll have a little smile on your face when you play in front of people. If your parents tell you you have no talent again, you will know one thing you did well for sure, you enjoyed the memory of the favorite song you were playing.
If you like recreating your favorite songs and making new ones, you'll figure out where you need to improve bit by bit. Just always go back to your favorite songs and why you like music in general👍😃
@@deyliramirez382 thanks! I love instruments. I have at least 8 with me. My problem is not practicing enough and I can’t stay on beat /rhythm. And I keep switching instruments 😅.
@@arcoiris890 Maybe someone can set the beat. Who knows, maybe you'll do better in a small band of friends :)
@@arcoiris890try making simple drum beats in fl studio and play your guitar along the drum beat in slow tempo. You will develop the sense of rhythm.

Mom : No I actually don't

Whenever I finish practicing my mom comes in my room and says "when are you gonna have a concert" and this is the only face I can make 👁️👄👁️
You're so lucky, my mom literally ignores all I play, very often just comes right in as if I were doing nothing while I am practicing, which sucks. Maybe after I have played a song like 10000 times, and she's interrupted me enough while playing, maybe she'll say " oh this is kind of nice? I don't know, maybe it's just because I heard you sing it too much " 😭
When I practice my mom says why do you always play "death rock", can't you play something good or just stop in general.

The Unconditional Love of parents is a blessing. Cute video. As a parent this made we laugh at myself.
Eating the oats out of the can gives me the Texan vibes
My moms friend lives in yexas and she does that.🤣
When I was like 8 years old I would “preform” for my family. I would get so excited to sing and dance and put on a big show but by the time everyone sat down to watch me, I’d get really nervous and go completely blank and end up doing some crappy pathetic performance instead. My family would still clap though and I felt like the most talented person in the world at the time. I cringe when I think back on those memories. I have no idea how I had all that confidence. 😬

This reminds me when I finally sang out loud with my real voice in front of my whole family for the first time and my papa would talk about it for days, and my nickname is also tatertot so I find this scarily relatable
Is your dad Ron “Tater salad” White?
This is so funny! I love the mug! XD
How did you manage to make this so relatable
Why is this so relatable 😭 I learned how to play guitar and ukulele but my parents always have me play super hard stuff, especially in front of my grandparents
