The crazy thing is I've never heard of this band until about 3 minutes ago. I was born in 1982 and I listen to Metallica and Nirvana Alice in chains Stone Temple pilots Aerosmith breaking Benjamin 3 doors down Three Days Grace.. in many many more bands. I can't believe I've never heard of this band
There's just something so completely unique and beautiful about the tonal quality and chords that the vocals make. In 10 years I haven't gotten sick of this song, or heard anything quite like it.
This entire song is fucking magic. Nothing compares to the glory of Good Mourning in 7th grade. That album was like a soundtrack to real life heartbreak. I miss these times (())(())
There's something I would go as far as saying disturbing about that writing team that no other band has ever compared to in the existence of modern music
Jerry Finn, ladies and gentlemen. The production on Crimson is fucking amazing! The guy was a king, he gave this song and other gems on the record an incredible sound.
The fact that I saw this on Fuse as a 10 year old back in 2005 brings back interesting memories. Such a confusing time where i sought after music to speak for me when i could not speak for myself nor vent out against the losses I had that very year. Fuse TV made my confusing pre teens and teenage years worthwhile.
The fuse logo here is everything. Plus this video is one of the oldest uploads on the platform AND this video was airing at the time of upload. This is an absolute gem.
This band accesses a part of my brain that is so primal, physically and emotionally, it’s amazing. I love this band so much. It got me through a lot of shit growing up and reminds me of a really good friend who died of an overdose years back. Alkaline trio is amazing, the lyrics have a dark aspect, and the music is usually positive in contrast, it’s so interesting and real in that way. I think it’s the opposite of myself in that way, I seem negative on the outside but am sensitive and truly love people on the inside. I just want people to be good and be happy. Cheers
That chorus is a major achievement of pop, punk, whatever genres this encapsulates- it’s thrilling, beautiful and I could listen/sing along to it over and over again. The drumming too, good lord.
I'm here on my own free will... This will forever be my favorite Alkaline Trio song; loved it when it first came out and still going strong through 2015.
I'll be honest with you. I've always known who Alkaline Trio were but never gave them a proper listen until Matt joined Blink. I've been listening to their entire discography for the last few months and let me tell you, this band is simply amazing. I haven't heard a bad song and their lyrics... so good! "Sadie" is probably my favorite song. Haunting lyrics and just beautiful!
I had never heard of Alkaline Trio until the whole Tom DeLonge thing (I'm a huge blink fan). Although it sucks that I finally came across Ak3 in these circumstances, I'm glad because they're all I've been listening to since. I'm not one of those guys who compare bands, everyone is different in how they compose songs and are great in different eyes. They've earned a dedicated fan.
It took me so long to find this song! I just remembered the opening piano part, SO glad I found it I remember it from childhood, fun memories watching Fuse and hanging out.
Oh my god this takes me back. In college I was the only piano player on the whole course (national diploma in music so I could do music at university), started playing this one day and the guitarist in our band was so fucking excited because nobody else had even heard of Alkaline Trio.
It's 2019, 13 years after the release of this little gem, I don't know how but I somehow came across this again and ... I'm flooded with emotions & memories. This was my JAM THEN. D;> ~
Unfortunately I'm only listening to AK3 cause Matt Skiba is in Blink now, but I can honestly say if I had heard them before all this blink stuff they would be one of my favorite bands. Great music.

Ahh fuse tv... So many memories of watching headbangers ball late at night and discovering new bands and interviews with many other band during the day while videos played.
How the hell are these guys so damn spellbinding!? They literally tick all the boxes. Lyrics, tone, harmony...they all write songs, and know their instruments intimately. I've never heard an Alk 3 song I didn't swoon over.

@@GnrcNm Funny you should say that, one of my best mates gave me a copy of that CD in school, the year it came out. I listened to it for many years, it's a classic. I've lost it now, but i might have to grab these tracks and burn me a new copy.
I finally saw the trio in g-vile Fl after many years listening. I couldn’t believe they were coming to my area. What is more, a band I always loved and saw before, Bayside, was opening for them. I remember the first time I saw bayside, seeing Anthony’s tatoo, the skull heart, so I knew he was a fan. So Alkaline Trio was in town, we found parking way down the road and after we got inside, we went to my car out the back exit. There was a giant black alkaline tour bus with a classic Ducati sitting next to it. The same Ducati from the glory days fliers, that I assume Matt Dan and the guys use to get around town when they are on tour. It was Sick. On our way back from the car, we ran into Anthony Raneri and we smoked a cigarette together (I don’t even smoke cigs) he remembered me from the front row singing every lyric at his previous trip to Gainesville and talked to me like a long lost friend. I told him he was my favorite and I really relate to his lyrics, that I feel like we have been through the same shit. He told me he was in my same shoes, because Alkaline Trio was his favorite band and it’s his dream to be on tour with them. We went back inside and the crowd was all the way to the back of the Fl theater. I saw two beautiful punk rock chicks wishing they were closer to the front. I told them to make a train, hah, grab my belt and hold on tight, Ryan you be the caboose. I bowed up and marched through the crowd dragging them behind me. We made it all the way to the very front. RIP Ryan.
Today is October 28, 2010, i heard this over and over again way-back 5 years ago on MTV, geez, this song is still fresh to my ears never got old like it was release just recently. love this band!
A lot of the comments are about being here to see if Matt is good for Blink. Instead of arguing over "I've been listening to them for ten years!" Just be happy that such a fantastic band is getting more attention. They deserve it.

They're awesome hey? I've only been listening to AK3 since about 2010 but they are really great in their own right. I would say they're like a darker, more rocky blink.
@@DV-zv4ox idk about that comparison, their lyrical content and playing style is almost nothing like blink, id venture to say the lyrics are a bit more Morrissey-esque
I remember seeing this song on MTV2 as I was sobering up after a night of drinking during a beach trip after my senior year of HS back in 2005. I had heard of the band before then, but I kept forgetting to really look into them. My buddy and I were floored by the song, and I've been a huge fan ever since.
Crimson was comforting me when I left the country to visit my family I had never met before, and a country I had never been to. I had this album in repeat almost all of January and it was awesome.

Discovered Alkaline Trio through this exact video on Fuse and have been listening to them ever since! Their music has gotten me through some really tough times in life.
Kickass song and album, and I love that the fuse watermark is on this. It invokes so much nostalgia of the time I discovered the music that helped to define my life and outlook and relationships.
This is by far Alkalines best song musically speaking. From beginning to end it is just gorgeous. I remember when I first heard it in 2005 and the chills I got with the piano intro.
saw this song performed 2008 Hampton beach NH with my best friend i ruined a relationship with, my favorite concert ever we went home with different shoes. oh to go back in time.
Thank god for fuse, the last musical leg of MTV. Introduced me to so many good bands. We didn’t have cable or satellite back then, but my neighbor did! My brother and I would hurry up to my neighbors after school to watch fuse. It was the best.well first was tunami to watch DBZ, then new music!❤️❤️❤️
hope skiba brings some of your heaviness to blink's new album. he seems a bit understandably shy about trying to stand out, but this sound could easily be that progression from blink's self titled album we've all been hoping for. Bored to Death was better than I expected and a fun song, but definitely safe and a throwback versus progression. I'll take a throwback over neighborhoods anyday though.
@@Therisennikki - actually... I have been listening to the trio since like... 2002 or so? I was introduced to them via the first atticus comp back in the day with "Jacked on green beers". But thanks for the assumptions lol. I was simply making an observation. Don't make me get the flyswatter!
i really love alkaline trio. some weeks ago i didnt even realize that there music is so great, because i never really listened to it and now i really love them.
I just discovered Crimson. I quit listening after From Here to Infirmary. I actually became a fan of the band AFTER I spent an evening chilling with Matt Skiba at the former True Love Cafe in Sacramento circa 2002. My girlfriend and her friend at the time were fans. 6 months later they had a show with the Bouncing Souls in San Francisco that was sold out. We drove from Sacramento with no money and no tickets. Matt saw us waiting outside the club during the afternoon and came out, said what's up, and put the three of us on the guest list after we told him our plight. After their set, which we watched from the front row, some drunk broads that were leaving gave us backstage passes. We tried getting backstage, and upon our success, I walked into long hallway.... Only to see a very un-sober man staring back at me while he stumbled towards me like a zombie. Who was this man? Fat Mike from NOFX. Followed him into the little room he entered and found myself in the middle of a discussion between Billy Joe and Mike Durnt from Green Day and El Hefe and Fat Mike from NOFX. It had to be the most epic night for free I've ever had.
All the people on here that are just barely discovering AK3 because Matt now a member of Blink amaze me.....how can you be a true Blink fan and not have known AK3 previously? I don't get it lol.
I used to stay up until 3am in middle school watching MTV. This would play every night. I would sometimes wait, hoping to see it.
My brother recordered every Night the MTV show, 120 minutes.
we watch the show after school.

And all eyes fix on the death of tomorrow
And you found everything you need

Completely revolting and they have safety and relief

I see you in line every day
You had time to waste and I'm not sorry
Such a basket case, hide the cutlery
I had time to kill it's dead and buried
You've got guts to spill but no one trustworthy
These creatures are waking up in these dark trees
Waiting like vultures
Eyes roll back turn white in time to feed
They salivate with hunger
For you and everything they need
To make a death complete
Completely unnatural and salvation lies
Behind those dead eyes that watch you while you sleep every night and
You had time to waste and I'm not sorry
Such a basket case, hide the cutlery
I had time to kill it's dead and buried
You've got guts to spill but no one trustworthy

@@MrWillyWonka No idea what it stands for! but it is a band. The most under rated band I have ever heard.
I was looking for a video on removing grass stains from my new jeans and somehow ended up here. No regrets, but how does this help my situation...
ha
because... if you have time to look up how to remove grass stains from your jeans, you obviously have TIME TO WASTE!!! lol
+SuperCapnmorgan
This fucking comment!
its easy! go do a few more slide tackles until the entire pair of jeans is green!
you had time to waste. . . .
Without Matt Skiba's contributions to Blink 182 i never would've discovered this amazing band
Me neither
And now you’ll see where Matt rightfully belongs!! They are truly one of the best bands of our time!!!
The intro is epic and always will be
Crazy this is from 18+ years ago... wow. Brings back so many memories
Chyaaaaa! This is so good but you must hear “City” by SLT 🏙️🤘🎸 and wait for them drums to hit 🥁🔥
YES! FINALLY! People listen to Alkaline Trio on UA-cam again!

Only found out about alkaline trio from the new blink record but this is awesome
These guys are so amazing but it's unfortunate how underrated they are.

Yup
+Kevin Doughty good mourning!?
+njdkidd1231 Good Mourning isn't a good album to jump straight into though.
Damn 2005 lol
Joseph Harding Coincidence wow!
I'm so old 😭😭
Thank god for fuse, the last musical leg of MTV. Introduced me to so many good bands. We didn’t have cable or satellite back then, but my neighbor did! My brother and I would hurry up to my neighbors after school to watch fuse. It was the best.well first was tunami to watch DBZ, then new music!❤️❤️❤️
Chyaaaaa! This is so good but you must hear “City” by SLT 🏙️🤘🎸 and wait for them drums to hit 🥁🔥
one of my favorites songs and fuse its the best music channel
Man i love the build up to this song, has been one of my favorite song's for many years now.
hope skiba brings some of your heaviness to blink's new album. he seems a bit understandably shy about trying to stand out, but this sound could easily be that progression from blink's self titled album we've all been hoping for. Bored to Death was better than I expected and a fun song, but definitely safe and a throwback versus progression. I'll take a throwback over neighborhoods anyday though.
I love Blink with Matt FAR more than previously. And I was a fan previously...
@@vector_23 lmao yeah right
Beatstar 👋❣️
Sounds like it’s obvious who wrote “black rain” on NINE, eh?
@@Therisennikki - actually... I have been listening to the trio since like... 2002 or so? I was introduced to them via the first atticus comp back in the day with "Jacked on green beers". But thanks for the assumptions lol. I was simply making an observation. Don't make me get the flyswatter!

A must listen!
pffft the lyrics are so well thought out and so meaning full
I remember pirating this shit back in the day. Damn I still love these boys and their tunes.
Yes I remember fuse would love all the same jams as me, or was I loving the same jams as them? 🤔

This song is soooo unbelieveably addictive. i cant stop listning to the beginning with the piano and the awesome guitar
So sad to see all these people who have never heard Alkaline Trio and comparing them to Blink.
I thought I was the only one
Need a tissue?
biznachos1
yes please
Seriously wth
db guerra
It's called sarcasm
Who still thinks this song is kickass in 2016?
HELL YEAH!
I do, sadly I'm one of the few 14 year olds at my damn school who listens to music like this
my generation is corrupted ;_;
+Rob Bader First album I've heard by them was Good Mourning
All the people on here that are just barely discovering AK3 because Matt now a member of Blink amaze me.....how can you be a true Blink fan and not have known AK3 previously? I don't get it lol.
Isaac P I agree
Because the vast majority of Blink fans don't actucally listen to punk outside Blink and Green Day. Basically whatever "punk" they find on the radio.
Ahhh man, I haven't heard this in ages! Fooooking awesome!
I'm a full blown metal fan from way back but the words man there what lays 10 miles away .I see them I'm line every day.
Man I wish it was 2007 again...
This was like 2004-05

This was made over 8 years ago, and only has less than 2 million views? Damn...
A brilliantly produced video from stem to stern. Every member of the talent was exceptional at this point in time. In the stratosphere.
