Whodunnit? was a British television game show that originally aired on ITV as a pilot on 15 August 1972, hosted by Shaw Taylor, and then became a full series, which ran from 25 June 1973 to 26 June 1978. The series was first hosted by Edward Woodward in 1973 and then, following his departure from Doctor Who, hosted by Jon Pertwee from 1974 to 1978. Each week it featured a short murder-mystery drama enacted in front of a panel of celebrity guests who then had to establish who the murderer was. Anouska Hempel and Patrick Mower became permanent panellists from series 3 onwards, with two guest celebrities each episode. The panel members could interview the remaining characters, with the proviso that only the murderer could lie. Each panellist could also request to see a short replay of one section of the initial drama, which would often include events as they occurred and flashbacks as seen and narrated by individual suspects. At the end the compere would reveal the murderer with the catchphrase "would the real whodunnit please stand up?".

I have to say this show attracted some terrific actors as well as a panel of top talent. It must’ve been extremely successful back in the day. Just as an aside, Anoushka Hempel is absolutely gorgeous.
I don’t know any of these people but every episode in the comments nothing but talking about the fantastic actors in the episode
Thanks so much for creating this playlist. I remember watching these back in the day and it's wonderful to be able to revisit them. I'm still terrible at picking whodunnit, though!
Im so happy you enjoyed the episodes.great comment too
I’ve only realized now that the fictional television program, “Shemat” is an anagram of Whodunnit’s program, “Thames”
Michael Byrne, who played Peter Green, enjoyed a very successful acting career.
He was famous for playing German officers, such as in Force 10 From Navarone and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade.
Still alive at time of writing!
I can’t believe really that Norman Eshley played Roy Sharp one of the camera operators and I never could guess it was him before seeing the end credits and he looks quite different a lot to when he began starring as Geoffrey Fourmile in George and Mildred a year later to 1979 and his hair in this looks quite a lot different too even from seeing his face I couldn’t tell it was him at first.
He also played Robin Tripp's brother, who married Chrissy in the last episode of Man About The House. He looked totally different to Jeffery Fourmile from George and Mildred in that too!!
Its foggy Dewhurst from Lat of The Summer Wine lol
I think he just looks so different more without his moustache and specs on.
I don't understand how it was those 2 guys TBCH. Because if they knew how to operate it how come they didn't remember to reset the counter weight.? To me that smacked of somebody else having used it that wasn't completely familiar with it's operation.
But enough of my sour grapes. Thanks for the upload as I remember the show as a kid when my parents used to watch them each week.
I was 15 when these were on and I wanted to be Anoushka Hemple. She was lovely.
Also you forget just how many people smoked on these panel games as well.
@Jet Black. I was a bit younger when these were on, but I so wanted to look like Anoushka Hemple! I had a bit of a crush on Patrick Mower.
4-4.30 minutes in is definitely the Rainbow scenery. One of the easiest shows to dress.
Talented Actors, enjoyabley crummy Show. So 1975, the clothes, flashback of a flashback.
I didn't expect to see Gordon Brown in the opening scene!
I have to say ..welcome to all my new subscibers.and old.i appreciate your support.please share these vids and let all your mates know about my channel..jason from N.Z

Shemat TV / Thames TV
If you like anagrams, how about Torchwood equals Doctor Who?
