Whodunnit? was a British television game show that originally aired on ITV as a pilot on 15 August 1972, hosted by Shaw Taylor, and then became a full series, which ran from 25 June 1973 to 26 June 1978. The series was first hosted by Edward Woodward in 1973 and then, following his departure from Doctor Who, hosted by Jon Pertwee from 1974 to 1978. Each week it featured a short murder-mystery drama enacted in front of a panel of celebrity guests who then had to establish who the murderer was. Anouska Hempel and Patrick Mower became permanent panellists from series 3 onwards, with two guest celebrities each episode. The panel members could interview the remaining characters, with the proviso that only the murderer could lie. Each panellist could also request to see a short replay of one section of the initial drama, which would often include events as they occurred and flashbacks as seen and narrated by individual suspects. At the end the compere would reveal the murderer with the catchphrase "would the real whodunnit please stand up?".

The way Paul skulks around the place is just so great. RIP Paul Darrow
Paul Darrow my favourite B7 character A on along Vila, there is only one Avon.
The late great Paul Darrow - the irony is that although he only spoke once during the Q & A he would two years later be the biggest star in the room.
Steven Pacey - who played series regular Del
Tarrant - also appeared in the 1975 episode "Final Drive".
Interesting history right there..cheers..back to the show.😁
Most of the episodes had paper-thin plots, but it is definitely fun to star-spot and also check who is still alive.
Also, an actor saying "shit" on television is nothing now. How times have changed.
Inspector March played by the lovely Paul Darrow, two years before he started playing Avon in Blake's seven.
Interesting
"I need to wrap up this investigation as quickly as possible. I've arranged a snog with Servalan in twenty minutes!"
Gorgeous gorgeous man!
They must have told him to play it like Columbo ...
Who's here for the one and only Paul Darrow?
Love the typical late 60's early 70's lounge music to these.
I love watching Jon at this level. Definitely fun
Terry Scott comes across as a lovely man
Lady Penelope looked better with the mask on than in real life!
Somebody should topped Mrs Boscombe
I'm getting sick of these stupid episodes where there's no proper motive or proper premise and so you don't even think about the person who did it. On some of these, I've taken to watching the story, skipping to the end to see the answer and then watching how the detectives get to the solution, Columbo episode-style.
There's certainly not much care taken to bulletproof the plot, most Scooby Doo episodes have fewer holes, although the real fun is watching all these celebs and spotting which ones have survived (professionally and otherwise)
There was a couple of episodes that I know that they had the actor with Columbo, or Grocho Marx.
