this topic of braking habits and branching out is also important many areas of life, not just media consumption. there is an unbelievable ammount of stuff you can do/experience, so stop scrolling or binging youtube and do something different, even if you dont like it afterwards it will be worth the detour :)
You really are underrated man, wasn’t expecting such a high quality video when I saw the low view count, but it really gave me some helpful info that I will make sure to implement into my life. Keep up the work man, I’m sure you’ll blow up soon
nice video, hope to see content like this grow in views. I got into anime a while back and started reading multi-hour long vns that may take long but leave you really satisfied by the end. way better then wasting that time on pvps!
Yesterday after watching your video I decided to finally play some videogames that I've bought on sale. I discovered Frostpunk, and I started playing the whole afternoon well into the night. That is something I haven't felt or done in a while, mainly cause I play valorant on my free time, and the freshness and serenity that came along with playing a single player game was so good, that I think ill play every game in my steam library again just to feel something. Thanks for the advice in changing content.
Absolutely! I'm glad my advice/rant that I thought no one would see actually is helping people! I haven't played Frostpunk myself, but maybe I will give it a try sometime soon!
Cyberpunk 2077 was very much my "bioshock game." Definitely recommend it for you. One of those "last" story games in a world filled with multiplayer garbage. Incredible recommendation especially considering you like anime. The anime based on the video game is so so good and after you complete the game definitely watch the anime both are rated so high
Yes! Been meaning to check that one out. Will probably get it on sale and try it at some point. I've had a few people recommend the anime even by itself since it is super good. Definitely on my list!
nice video man. Variety is definitely key in everything. You can binge and obcess every one in a while but keeping up a healthy rotation and trying new is great
Thanks! Yes I agree for sure, being too obsessed for too long is super unhealthy. Looking for new stuff is honestly just more engaging for the most part too
One thing I did was to stop binging, and it really made a difference. Watching no more than one episode of a show a day makes me appreciate each episode much more because I have more time to precces it and I look forward to the next episode every day. And I can also watch two or three shows at the same time this way without them or their episodes blending together in my mind by watching them too fast.
That's a pretty cool way to do it! I think I can only watch one show at a time personally so I don't forget anything lol. But yeah the most episodes per day for me too is 3, binging is just way too addicting and a whole day can be gone before you can even process it!
Thank you! Some of my favorite animes not mentioned are: School Rumble (Must see), Laid Back Camp, Persona 4 the Animation (If you have played the game), Moon Phase, and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Manga wise I don't have as many since I've been taking it a bit slower, but I would say: Cat + Gamer, Neon Genesis Evangelion: Angelic Days, and Happy Marriage?! I'm always trying to add recommendations to my list if you have any you would recommend!
Thanks! Yeah it's a bit of a process, and not every method works for everybody. Just try your best and you will find what works best for you in due time!
I try everything even puzzle games or sports games but the only genre I genuinely hate is turn based combat. It feels so easy and slow amd there isn't much "make your next move in the heat of the moment" if you know what I mean.
Yeah I get that, it's a hard genre to really get into. You gotta really like the story first, the gameplay comes second. Like you can walk away mid fight for a couple hours and nothing will change. I do enjoy some turn based games, but not like those grand strategy games. Those are way too in depth for me to comprehend lol
If you have a computer or a laptop, you can get a reader that you can plug in to your USB. I looked it up on Google, and found a Portable External DVD/RW Drive that’s 8in x 8in x 2in for $30
Honestly I would say don't mess with physical media in that case, especially if you have limited space. I would watch/listen on the same platforms as you do now but just try and be more experimental with your choices. Like for music, look up different genre playlists that you don't normally listen to and shuffle them. For movies/tv its a little harder since there isn't a random option on most streaming services. Maybe make a Letterboxd account and check out other people's profiles to see what they like and go from there. It would take more of a mind set change for sure, but if you set your mind to it, you can do it!
if there are any vintage/thrift stores you could copy down the names or take pictures of random media and look for them later. that way it’s still random but you don’t have to have the physical
lol good video but saying you branched out with fuckin bioshock and persona, some of the most popular games out there, was really funny to me "hey i just watched this new movie, i dont know if you guys have ever heard of it, its like 50 years old, its called star wars" i suppose a lot of folks really do play nothing but multiplayer shooters. so strange to finally be on the other side
Yeah I was definitely on the shooters only lifestyle for most of my teens. I am so glad that I moved past that lol. It does really make you think about the people who only buy and play the new CoD and Fifa every year over and over

Very true!

Thank you! I really appreciate it! Yeah its hard making it from nothing, that's for sure. I'm glad there was something to take out of it!
nice video, hope to see content like this grow in views. I got into anime a while back and started reading multi-hour long vns that may take long but leave you really satisfied by the end. way better then wasting that time on pvps!
Thank you! I definitely agree! I've read a couple vns, but nothing super long yet. Got any recommendations?
@@chefkirby1 Steins;Gate, Higurashi, and Chaos;head are all some good ones. Higurashi is probably my favorite of all time so that'd be my top pic

banger vid man! +1 sub
Thank you! :)
K-On supremacy 🤩
K-On is so good 😎
Love your content. You should try including short clips or skits irl like 5 seconds long, think it would work well with your style!
Thank you!! That's a great idea, I will definitely look into doing that going forward!
All you had to do was put Mugi in the thumbnail to get my attention, K-on is peak fiction.
When making the thumbnail, I 100% had to add her! K-on 100% is peak
this is such a cool way to discover new media! aside from the ones mentioned are there any animes or mangas that you recommend ? (any genre :D)

Hey, nice video. I also need to stay more away from my phone, still trying to figure out how. I like how you talk.
Thanks! Yeah it's a bit of a process, and not every method works for everybody. Just try your best and you will find what works best for you in due time!

Great video. I usually try to avoid trashing any particular band but I have to concur with you that DMB sucks, and they always have.
I'm glad i'm not the only one who feels that way 😅
any advice for people like me who don’t have dvd or cd players?? my apartment is small and i take public transportation to work
they're pretty inexpensive now - especially if you're not bothered about blu-ray. you can find used ones or get a new one for maybe £20

Seal the "seas' across the web.
