How's your foot do you need some new hicking boots?
@@bayman8803 Foot keeps swelling, but hasn’t hurt at all. I’ve nearly hit 30 miles on it since. I ended up getting 34 after a 4 hour power nap. I’ll be talking with someone about shoes.
@@RobTheNomad rob you have more than enough subscribers to open up a live chat and people can Super Chat you to help you financially

Soak your feet in the water, elevate when you're resting, chill and take your time.
Keep the faith my friend
Great closing shot, Rob.
Live the life
I miss the Appalachian Mountains!! I grew up in Maryland and i used to camp out on the C&O canal and Appalachian trail. Beautiful scenery and creepy abandoned houses from the 1800s lol. Miss it all❤❤❤
Congratulations on another day of picking feet up and putting them down
Thanks for another great video
Plot up for a bit Rob mate, love your videos.. greetings from London.UK.
Robb you are the man !, don’t forget it
Thanks for sharing your newer friends!!!
My family and I hiked up to Hawk Rock Overlook a couple years back. Wonderful scenery. Thanks for posting your videos!
Beautiful place nice place to hang rest up
Great video! Awesome to see you. praying for you to be safe. Amen. Love watching your videos. :) :)
Great video, Rob. We’re praying for you, dude.
Thank you for a new video! My dad passed 3 days ago from a long hard illness. This video has inspired me to be positive and keep putting one foot in front of the other. You are such an inspiration and a motivation to just keep going no matter fears and obstacles. You are truly a great man! You look really good! Keep up the adventure. Listen to your body and rest when u need to. It’s not about the destination. It’s the adventure of getting there.
I’m really sorry about your dad. Glad I can help in some way!
God bless🙏🌹
@@RobTheNomad thank you! I think u are helping a lot of people!
@@Karen-qx7jw thank you!
Hey Rob you're always awesome but just make sure you elevate that foot and ice it as well it'll make all the difference!
Glad to see you're back Rob. No retreat no surrender.
Yeah, Rob, I really enjoy the times you stop and point things out along the way. Hope you can enjoy the trip, take a break on you foot, too. It's so pretty and historic.... Love you!
Hi Rob the nomad....
U gotta get some gel insoles for your shoes...
Makes a big difference for achy feet..
Love your vids btw..👍
Keep up the good work Rob! 👏 hopefully things will get better & easier for you from day to day.
Hey Rob, nice to see you are still on the trail.
I admire you so much. Wish it were me
Nice area. Fun watching the trains, but real loud from your standpoint. 😀❤️👼✨🕊💯🙏🏻
Beautiful scenery! Take care hope your foot gets better soon!
Maybe you need to slow it down Rob, ya dont wanna make it worse on your foot. Maybe take a few days off? Scenery is great as usual, loved the lil stream. I bought your waater filtreation system and really like it. Beautiful town , railway station and river! Glad you stayed and rested a while. Definitly looks like youre foot needs some rest.
Great video as usual I enjoy the sights you show. Take care of your foot. Like my granny used to say if it ain't one thing it's 6 more. Take care and keep on keeping on. Love from Texas
I’m 45 I feel like I’m walk-in with u on ur trip . I’d be falling apart my feet legs back knees would be killin me 🦋 your so strong keep ur head up Rob we ❤ u.
Rob you are doing a great job
You are probably going to have to rest your foot Rob. I'm hoping that if you slow down it will heal on It's own. If you can't walk the whole distance though, help will come. Take care buddy.
Hey Rob, I will join your Patreon later, but I've already spent an hour trying to recover my email password. It might be easier for me to drive from Texas and meet you with some money, but I will get it done as soon as I find a 10 year old kid that can show me how to get my password. Talk to you soon.
You are so making me smile and warming my heart!! You are growing!! I can hear new confidence in your speech and you're really getting out there and climbing out of your shell. You are killing this!! Super Great Job!!
On another note; If I remember correctly, you had mentioned that you were wearing Sketchers earlier. Are you still wearing those same shoes? Were they new when you started out? First it was your knee and now it is your foot. Most hikers on the AT wear out 2 or 3 pairs of good quality hiking shoes/boots in one summer. I am not a doctor or anything, but if you are still wearing those shoes, I think I might try acquiring a good quality pair of hiking shoes and maybe some insoles with good support and cushion. You can order from REI and have them delivered to you at a spot along the trail. I believe they also come with a superb guarantee. Just my suggestion. If you decide to try this route and you need some assistance getting there, reach out. I am sure myself or someone will come through for you.
Keep on Truckin'!!
The knee problem and ankle swelling coming from the foot. Please get good shoes and foot support. Loving your videos.🐨🌈
I am still wearing the Skechers! I got them a few weeks before I left and put probably 100 miles on them around town. I am talking with someone about shoes though.
@@RobTheNomad Good Deal!! I think you will be surprised at how much of a difference a decent pair of shoes will make. You might also want to look into a pair of "Darn Tough" or "Injinji" socks. I will be listening for comments!!
Hey... Here is something to think about as you are going through virginia and north carolina... Both are GINSING and GOLD country.... Ginsing is worth alot of money per pound and grows all over the mountainous regions... And NC was the birth place of the Gold Rush... The eastern side of NC has gold flowing in the rivers and panning is easy... Good way to spend a few days relaxing
Also other precious gems like rubies and saffires if I'm not mistaken
@@JoeBidenIsNotMyPresident ya nc is known for saphires and an occassional ruby
I love Pennsylvania, it's a beautiful state. Looks like a nice place for a rest day.
Been to Duncanan quit a few times delivering School buses. It's nice in that part of PA.
I see you caught that! It is really nice.
keep going rob! i wish i could do the trail! loving your vids
I love your POV's. Really nice video, thanks!
This trip is inspiring me heavily. It's got me thinking about my future. Good stuff.
Keep on keeping on awesome videos stay safe out there.
Yo take it day by day this is your adventure make it the best you can no rush and we will all be there to watch wish I would have hiked th AT trails before my knee blow out and artists set in like it has so I injoy watching you document your jorney
Rooting for you man!
Congratulations on 12K subs 👍
Thank you!
Hey Rob why don't you just hop freight trains to Florida if you still want to go. I hopped trains for few years it's pretty fun kinda hard to figure out the routes but once you do you can go anywhere in America. You can go 100 miles a day up to 500 or 600 hundred miles a day just depends on the train. Watch hobo shoe string on the tube he is a old pro at it
I met someone who traveled with shoestring. That’s not my style, that’s all. And I’m in no hurry to just get somewhere. I’m trying to come up with a plan along the way.
Well done buddy back on track .proud of you rob 👍
I really think you have planter fasciitis! You need better arch support in your shoes.
Elevate the ankle 4" or so for the swelling. If possible. Nice scenery you are showing us.
I enjoy how you film in one spot for a while,it makes me feel like I'm there with you.
Wondering what you do with your pack when walking around town etc ? ✌️
If everyone could pitch in $1-$5 it would go along way with rob it doesn't look like he cares much food with him and I'm sure he would be extremely grateful for a new pair of shoes
A,bro nice to see you ones more you take care of your foot,,just blood floo,it be ok bro god bless..
Rob! Love the videos! I pray you stay safe. You can do this! Times get rough but you keep pushing through. I'm sure you can get a spare job in one of these towns if you need to. Just to keep going for a few more days. I'll be watching, I pray all is well!
Enjoy your trip. Go as slow as you need to and take care of your feet! You are doing fantastic! 🇺🇲❤️👍
👍
Keep up the pace. I love the scenery.
If I was recovering from a broken and dislocated foot that had to be rebuilt and held together w hardware I would take some time off and come hike w you for a bit. Was wondering if you could figure out a stop where you could get a care package! Want to send you new sneakers, a brace for your foot/ankle and some trail snack stuff. I’ve emailed you earlier so you have my info. If you figure out send me the info, shoe size etc and I’ll get a package together. Good to see you back at it!! Be safe and freaking smile man - you are in a freaking adventure of a lifetime! Peace!
That’s awesome, and thank you!
@@RobTheNomad Happy to help!!
That so kind of you. I wondered if he could pick stuff up in towns that he is headed too.
@@paula...sister1of12 i dont know if there is an Amazon locker in a town nearby or a town post office. I could plan it out so it gets there when he does.
@@awanderingdream2093 That would be a nice treat for him on his journey. A lot of towns have Amazon lockers now.
Saw rainbow she is cool waiting to see u though in interview.. Ur our star lol Just join ur patron my 1st evera so happy for ya Rob you have a entertaining channel and been following you from the start ❤
Thank you and welcome! I should be in her video from Duncannon. But she fell a bit behind with uploads. She’s having a lot of fun too though.
Rob
Get some Epsom salts
Soak the foot in warm water with about 1/4 cup Epsom salts
Really helps for swelling
be safe take care! if you can rest in a motel your foot❤
Ooh ouch you really need to rest that foot for a day or two, if you twist it too badly it will lay you up for a lot longer. I have bad feet and know how painful they can get especially if you over do it. I enjoy your videos, you are passing through such beautiful places. Thanks for taking us along on your journey
Boil some nettles and willow bark drink that tea once a day help the joints
Take care of yourself
Thank you!
Hey bud a couple of tricks one is obvious soak your foot in that nice cold lake the other one is crush up some aspirin make a paste rub it on your foot were it hurts and pain should go away !
Keep your eyes open and stay safe, watch out for bears, snakes, and spiders you are getting closer all the time
i would say as things are going with fuel & power costs you might start seeing others heading south. some can afford $8 a gallon fuel oil but a grid down in winter people are going to freeze in homes. glad you got a lil ride nice views out there.. watch that ankle. some kind of wheels.. not sure about roller blades tho.. lol. be safe & get rest 🙏 god bless
you should try a comression wrap to help swelling. you going to make it to your destination. your not a quiter.
I hope your eating and resting
Rob, have you thought about "train hopping" at all... some UA-camrs are doing that, seems adventurous!
Ankles are more swollen than mine and i have water retention from renal failure
I hope someone can recommend some good boots for you to help with your foot, since you keep rolling your ankles maybe some good boots would be good for you and don’t forget the weather will mess with your aches and pains also! I knew you wouldn’t quit! Stay safe
There’s no avoiding the rolling of ankles through all the rocks. I made it through Rocksylvania though!
@@RobTheNomad can’t wait for the next video!! So proud of you!! And I’m excited for you also!!
What's the rush Rob , well if you look up Cheap RV living / Bob Wells , he will show you how to get an address & social security as I don't think u can get social security without an address ❤️💛💙💚
Rob ground those feet for 30 minutes a day. Helps charge u up. As long as it takes we'll wait 4 ya.
Keep it up.
Happy 4th BANG
Did you go anywhere near Williamsport, PA? That's where I am.
I passed probably around 50 miles south of there.
When you go in one of those towns you need to get your foot checkout
I don’t think it’s that serious, but I will get it checked out if it doesn’t stop.
@@RobTheNomad you talk about it alot so yeah it does worry me don't want anything happen to you.
Hey there Rob...in my opinion, I would not ignore the issue with your foot. There's a VA clinic in Mechanicsburg. Take a few hours and get there and at least get an x-ray.
If it gets bad again I will. I’m usually good about knowing when I need to go.
How do you do all this?
Meaning cash flow?
If I tried that here, I would be a bear snack, or wolf droppings eventually, thats if the mountain lions dont get me first. 🥴
Yeah.. you are persevering. Good for you.. I am happy for you..so do u think it's better to walk 20 miles a day. Or take 2 days and do 10 miles each day???
I just did almost 30! I like to do more then rest.
Don't ever drink water that high in ferrous (iron) and take Viagra... you'll "point North" lol...
Glad to see your vid young man!
rob im no doctor but your foot could be infected ? if its been that way for a while mayb try nd get it checked if at all possible. love ❤
Glad to see you back bro.
I'm just going to throw this out there because of your bad foot, but have you ever thought about picking up a cheap bicycle? I've bicycle toured all over Europe and think it's got many benefits to hiking. Two big ones are that it's less impact on your body and you can let the bike carry the load.
I haven’t ridden a bike since I was younger. Maybe someday, but not something I want to get used to on the road like this. I tried a few summers ago and didn’t even make it a mile. Completely different muscles.
you're fuckin rockin it. pay special attention to those tootsies soak that leftie in cold water as often as possible godspeed brotha
Would hiking boots help?
I’m working on something!
I'm curious about your plans once you get to your final destination. What are you going to do then? Will you continue to make videos or is it bye forever?
I don’t have a final destination. I really enjoy sharing this stuff, and the community. I plan to get better at it and be able to share better things as I go. Florida is just part of this chapter.
Why doesn't some nice mountain bike company who might want some positive exposure...give this man a well equipped bike so he doesn't have to walk. Let's see who will be first to offer. ANY GUESSES? Spread this request!
I think you might be getting some wheels soon, I'm reaching out.
I got some shoes here for you but not going to do much good
Hey Rob start a live chat get somewhere with Wi-Fi first take a rest and people will superchat you. Trust me I'll superchat you copy along your way but you need a rest your foot
🖖🦶👍🥾🥾
Is there anything that you love about what you're doing?
Freedom, nature, making/sharing videos, reading comments, etc. I love most of it!
Thought you packed it in?.
I’m unable to do that. Just had a rough day.
So glad you never quit Rob, we all have tough days, really enj9ying watching you on your journey. Thank you.
Looks like gout on your foot I have it on right foot that hurts and it not easy to walk on my doctor told me to stop eating peanut butter and it stop so I did and take rolaids and it help me a lot I my gout don't start up about every 6 mouth's
I don’t think it is, but I’ll get it checked out if it doesn’t get better. It’s my ankle.
see a chiro for your foot
Hi Rob the nomad I live in rural America in a 12×24 barn shed I have 2 solar panels and one trolling motor battery to run it and well water my boss closed his business and my truck broke down and haven't worked sense c19 my town only has a dollar general store and 1 gas station nothing but a few odd jobs now and then not much I was approved for the Cherokee nation food program but it's 23.5 miles away I got a ride to get my first months food but having trouble finding a ride this month how long does it take to walk 23.5 miles I'd have to build a cart to carry it back and a solar panel and battery to run my 12 volt chest freezer because they give me fresh meat produce and I have to inject insulin twice a day if I have to camp out on the way back my phone says it should take about 8 hours to take rural roads a couple of hours less alone the highway but pulling or pushing a cart wouldn't be safe with no shoulder if I left home about 4am I should get there by 2pm pulling a cart I'm giving myself a few extra hours because I'm 54 and broke both legs 5 years ago and they give me problems every now and then when I was working I could carry a 18 foot 4×4 stainless steel 1/8 inch square tube on my shoulder 100 yards go back and do it again before I broke my legs I had 1500lbs fall and trap my legs in 2014 and it took me a year and a half to get back to work and then c19 hit and my own personal shtf started my question is that ten hours is a realistic time line or I'm I wrong and need to plan a longer time line to do this
I’m not sure if this is real, but, 23.5 miles in the Midwest in July is going to hurt. And you’d need a lot of water both ways. On top of the food, and food to get there and back. Without a cart unless you’re super man is going to be near impossible. It’ll take 2-3 days each way. Can do it in a day, but realistically probably not. Especially both ways. If you’re a troll, we’ll played. If you’re serious, my answer was and good luck!
@@RobTheNomad Had the same thought but he looks real on his channel ua-cam.com/video/ZwwSAEBE_hQ/v-deo.html
I'd be lookin' for a used bike and wagon
@@RobTheNomad yeah I wrote the comment before I watched the video so I'm thinking 2 or 3 days now and yeah being July in northeast Oklahoma and 110°f+heat index there's more shade trees on rural roads this is real I'm just out of money and options most of my family has passed away I'm living on my brother-in-laws property in my barn shed I do eat once 5 days a week cooking his supper and lunch for work sense my sister passed 2 years ago and I'm trying to grow a garden but the heat has burnt 1\3 of it and selling carvings I do for extra money you can check it all on my channel I'm not one to ask for help but it has come to that I just got food assistance this June and I'll check the weather this July and keep trying to get a ride maybe I can trade a carving for a ride or sell my broke down Yukon for a couple hundred to get by till it cools off enough to make the walk if worse comes to worse there's plenty of rabbit squirrel and a lake 6 miles away for fish and watercress, plantain and dandelion+ a few other wild edibles depending on the season were I live Peggs Oklahoma if you want to look it up and tahlequah Oklahoma were the Cherokee nation food program is I'm Cherokee if you want to confirm if I'm real
I'm curious as to why you seem to be in such a hurry?
Good luck on your new platforms. I don't do those, so I'll be waiting for the YT videos.
☮️💖
Thank you! I’m not in a hurry at all. But when I’m walking, I set high goals and challenges for the day. I’ve almost hit 30 miles already. Did 26, camped quick for 4 hours, then 8 more by 8am. And I’ve also stayed at a hostel for a week, and a church for 5 days, etc.
The videos are still the main thing. Patreon is just a more constant flow because I don’t have to edit or upload so much. And because people have asked me to make one from the start.
Hey bud i no how its like having problems with your foot i have it all the time but im older than you so could never do what you do its important though when your foot swells up you need to rest it it may take 1,2,3 even 4 days to get back to normal if you dont rest up this i no for sure i promise it will get worse , thats fine if you dont believe me its you on the hike not me
I’ve been making sure to rest a lot along the way when I can!
You need new hiking shoes
You better be careful you don't loose a leg go to the clinic buy a bicycle and walking shoes you can't walk in slippers for that kind of distance
