Moved from Rushden to Warrington in 1967, went to Newton Road school, used to live in Pightles Terrace, played as a young lad with, Micheal Shad bolt, Steven Rose, Simon Ellicott, many memories of the town, still pop back every now and then, still a nice place.
Just discovered this. I lived in Rushden from 1964 up until approx 1990. Moved to Milton Keynes, but still visited the town regularly up until 2012 when Canada beckoned. Great seeing some old favorite places.
I was born in Rushden in 1953. I'm retired and live in Thailand now. I remember when The Blue Corner Cafe was Leon Roy Wallis's music shop and Banlin the Taylors was Chettles pet meat shop. My first wife worked at Roy Hairstylist bottom of Hall ave. Brother had the kitchen shop on the corner of Newton rd. opposite council buildings and Dad had the shop opposite the Wellingborough rd. medical centre.
i used to live in upper park ave.... loved Rushden .
