  • Drive-In Theaters Are Making A Comeback During The Coronavirus Pandemic.
    The classic American experience of seeing movies at a drive-in theater is seeing a huge resurgence across the country. People who have been locked down in quarantine for months might be itching for an escape, but don’t want to risk being exposed to germs from others they encounter in public.
    I show you a quick and in detail tutorial on how to set up your own drive-in movie theater.

      Be very careful, any public showing of a Hollywood movie can get you some pretty hefty fines. Even if you do it at your own house but people can see you from a public area can get you in trouble.

    Can’t find the Ramsey Transmitter, can you recommend another one I can get by Friday? I want to make sure I set everything up correctly. So I have a mixer and will be using a DVD player that’s connected to my console already. I’ll run my hdmi from the DVD player to the projector. My speakers will be connected via XLR cords that’s also connected to the mixer already. Sound will be coming from speakers as well as inside cars, will I need any additional equipment?

      The screen we used was inflatable, so I don’t think rain would be a problem, if you went that route. However, for all of the electrical equipment, you would need to make sure that is all covered. EZ-Up tents for the audio equipment, covers or cable trays for the power cables, some type of plastic jacket for the projector, etc.

    • @aenimatt
      @aenimatt  3 роки тому +1

      I’m not quite sure how much this screen costed originally. We borrowed it from one of our sister teams. But before loaning it to us, they were renting it out. I’ll ask. The wind got pretty strong on some days, so we would be on standby to take it down if necessary. We used ropes to hold it down to heavy barrels of water. If it got too windy, we would park a couple cars behind it to prevent the bottom from scooting and flipping over.

    • @CoroaEntertainment
      @CoroaEntertainment 2 роки тому +1

      Yes, because it's a public showing. Example, as of 2021, in Canada the fee ranges from $150-$650 depending on the title and how new it is. If the movie has already been released to DVD/Bluray, it's usually between $200-$300. If it's a private showing, you don't need a permit. For the USA, it looks like movie licensing pricing can range from $300 to $2,000+ depending on a number of things. Some factors affecting the licensing price can include, the number of people in attendance, location, application, whether or not you charge admission (sell tickets), and the film title being displayed. Crowds of less than 200 people will be in the lower end of the price range, whereas crowds of 1,000+ people will be in the higher end. Either way a person would have to contact Criterion Pictures or Motion Picture Licensing Corporation, and they can help you obtain a public showing license for the movie/day you want.

      The screen is made by Airscreen and is 52" wide (I counted the parking spots lol). If that was a new Airscreen, the 52' blower model sells for $40,000 US, but I doubt a minor league baseball team would of paid that much for a screen (but you never know). Anyway, from what I can see, the cheapest things in the setup, are the laptop, DVD player, and the FM transmitter. The Ramsey FM30 transistor can be found on eBay used for $250-$300. A decent digital FM transmitter (that is capable of doing a parking lot the size of the one seen in the video), starts around $100-$150 on Amazon, a used DVD player for $10-$20 at a local Goodwill, or use the one in your laptop of it has one. Of course, if you buy everything used (ie, amps, projector, speakers, screen, etc), the overall cost would be far cheaper. The biggest on going cost (to do it legally so you don't get fined), is the public movie licence fee (a private showings doesn't need one). If the movie is already out on DVD/Bluray, most of the time it's between $200-$300 for that public permit/license.
