A Bass prodigy from an early age she is always stretching the limits of the instrument and her own playing. Love the passion that emanates from this wonderful musician 👌🏼🎶🤗
Thanks to the Rick Beato interview I just learned about this phenomenal musician an hour ago; her background and story of how she got to where she is is amazing!
I was intimidated watching her interviewed by Rick. This live play makes her amazingly dangerous to the best of all times for a girl in her 20s. Respect to Mohini❤
Hello 😉, Un peu plus que çà tout de même, 28 ans. Elle est mariée au monsieur derrière elle, au Sax lol 🤣 Condoléances pour son Papa, parti vraiment trop tôt 😪
I haven't been to a NAMM show in about 10 years now. Watching Ms. Mohini jam like this makes me think that I need to go next year. Man, Mohini is just tarring it up \m/.
Holy moly. She exudes a great deal of confidence, passion and originally. She plays with her heart, spirit and soul. Continued successes in expanding your territory.
People of the world ... Also meet Gino Banks... living legend of a drummer... playing it cool to help highlight Mohini... else he alone could do a 3 hr show... monster drummer with great complexity ( 100x of what you see ).
Gifted doesn't say enough. She worked hard to hone this craft. Her father and a vision and she's the outcome. Her little sister ain't no play thing either! Awesome women with skills!!
This woman's father imparted a gift from a young age. Then he made sure she followed her dream and practiced every day, for years. He challenged her to learn licks from other artist, while he went to the store, or out for the day. All of that determination from her, and her father has produced one of the greatest young bassist of a generation, Mohini Dey. It doesn't get any better than this!
B*llsh*t! Thats terrible: You wrote it - He PRODUCED a bassist, he protected his goals on his daughter. Thats parents 101 that you don't push your dreams on your kids. Her childhood sounds terrible. She said in an interview that she missed the love of her father and the support of her own dreams. She is doing this not out of love, she is doing it because her childhood was robbed and thats whats expected from her to get the love of her dad. Maybe wouldnt show of her boobs at every gig, when she had got that love from her father too.. terrible story. her childhood sound terrible and she said that her love is her clothing company not playing bass.

Love her. Beast player and super gorgeous 🔥🔥 You can tell she enjoys the crazy shredding, as hard as it gets . I know its fairly effortless once u get to that level but definitely no less challenging and i think thats fun, you can tell from her faces. no fs given :)
Dedication. Respect. Her dad who passed away young, taught her bass. Sound, feel, then notes. She shows if you concentrate on sound, time, feel and groove, notes will come and do they.
"if you concentrate on sound, time, feel and groove, notes will come". This is kind of nonsense. There's no reason to exclude any of it when learning. Doing so only retards progress and connections that would happen sooner, not to mention closing doors to opportunities. Most people who exclude notes never end up mastering them and are hobbled as a result.
Mohini is just a monster. I've been following her on the internet for a few years now. Buy her recent album, it's really good! Not that the drummer and tenor player aren't also really good as well.
I think she's marvelous, but other people are entitled to their opinions. It's not as though every popular male bassist doesn't get slagged by commenters. And, it's "Weckl".
What makes you qualified to (a) presume the gender of any critics in the comments ; (b) deem who is qualified to "tune her bass" ; and (c) put Dave Weckl up as a benchmark for all when you can't even spell his surname, and when it's not him we're checking out ? It seems logical to enquire as to who you've 'played' with, but more pertinently, just simply : who are YOU? Are you good enough to be played WITH or FOR? What qualifications do you have? Perhaps a Certificate 1 in electric bass tuning? Done any innovating lately? Or are you waiting to gig with Weckl before you go that far? Shame you didn't wait to gig with Weckl before writing your valueless critque of Mohini's critics - we probably never would have had to read it at all ! ... Anyway - keep trying.
A Bass prodigy from an early age she is always stretching the limits of the instrument and her own playing. Love the passion that emanates from this wonderful musician 👌🏼🎶🤗
Hard work - practice - joy - talent - made these 3 musicians - she is fabulous
and a liiiiiittle bit of privilege.
Thanks to the Rick Beato interview I just learned about this phenomenal musician an hour ago; her background and story of how she got to where she is is amazing!
She's fabulous! Such mastery of her instrument!
I was intimidated watching her interviewed by Rick. This live play makes her amazingly dangerous to the best of all times for a girl in her 20s. Respect to Mohini❤

Why?@@sixslinger9951
Come here after Rick Beato interview. She is more "crazy" in live playing❤👍. Her husband plays saxophone?
Yes. That’s her hubby.
If that is her husband then you can tell who wears the hair in the family and her playing is great.
@@jf-be4zy yep guarantee he has no say in the relationship. Yes Dear, of course Dear. haha
I haven't been to a NAMM show in about 10 years now. Watching Ms. Mohini jam like this makes me think that I need to go next year. Man, Mohini is just tarring it up \m/.
Now that is great timing. Nice piece of music.

Wow! She is on another level!
A GOAT for a new generation but also for the older generation as well!
Pump the brakes. She is good... but not the Goat of the past. She master and learned from past greats
Absolutely great performance!
Just another level!! Awesome musicianship.
The magic of Hindustani and Carnatic music makes Mohini Dey unique and special.

Woah, I thought I was on 1.5x! She's got some skills!
Gifted doesn't say enough. She worked hard to hone this craft. Her father and a vision and she's the outcome. Her little sister ain't no play thing either! Awesome women with skills!!
Her dad was a bass player and had been training her since she was 3 giving her daily bass homework. No wonder
She is such an incredible bassist!

Gino killed it.
As always, guranteed spot in hall of fame!
Very recognisable drummer
It blows my mind to see Mohini doing the same chords with harmonics that I used in the eighties in my jams in Buenos Aires.
Beautiful Performance ♥️
Brought a tear to my eye. Damn, that was tight.
I can barely see the screen through the tears in my eyes. blown away. sofa king good.
I get all my couches from Sofa King.
Their prices are Sofa King good!
Sofa King? What's JD Vance got to do with this?

man, the dude with the cell phone recording doesn't even pan to the sax for the solo! He must be a true Dey fan.

Mohini is INCREDIBLE
simply amazing
Mohini is awesome bass player, must listen to her NAMM 2024 interview at the show.
Just awesome really ❤
she's fantastic
Mohini is simply amazing as she always is and who is the drummer?
That's Gino Banks. One of India's top shelf drummers.
Simply amazing!
Nice to see Gino Banks on drums
Fantastic As Always!!!!Props to the sax and drums. This is not merely some technically impressive demo, but great music!!!
Mohini is a special talent
There's NO doubt!
Certainly amazing. But props to the sax player for killing it too
All three are Funking Slamming Groovaholics Yo !!!
She reveals so much in her playing!

her dad died? I didn't know that.
Her and Thundercat = 😱
Amazing bassist. How is it that her fingers never get tired or sore?
She’s been training since she was a child so it’s become like breathing to her
@@globalcitizenn True.

I could do that if I wanted to… I just don’t want to….. Truly insane. Wow
Mulher toca muito viu 😊😊
I think she has taken the crown. Forget Victor...Mohini is where its at, sorry Victor 😢
Mohini is just a monster. I've been following her on the internet for a few years now. Buy her recent album, it's really good!

The dummer is insane
She's super sayian god level dope!
Ah I see you're still out there playing that hell of a bass. 😊
Beautiful stuff
Wow what a bass player!
I think that is Mohini's husband Mark Hartsuch on the Sax.
My god! She's from another planet for sure... Claypool, flea, pastorius... Rolled into one
Right now, I'm wearing the exact same green flannel shirt as the sax player.
Here drummers very slick
Jaco Pastorius would be proud.
give that drummer a raise
She has not changed at all. Still madly talented.
Mohini Dey Showing us how it's done! Top Notch!!!
Nice groove.
excellent
Je suis comme le chien dans Tex Avery (mâchoire. Tombante) dès que je l'écoute.
Diosaaaaaaaa 😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I can play all these notes but not necessarily in this order
Love it! I play, and agree with you!
Nice she's awesome
Bravo!👏👏👏🔥😊🙏💐
Can she play Free Bird tho?
Her, Ida Nielsen and Me'Shell N'degecello as well!!
Thanks Bob, for saying something smart.
Wow !
Loving the hateful comments by men in here who aren't qualified to tune her bass. She plays with Dave Weckle. Who have you played with?
Damn.. Someone call the cops
