Tim is one of my favorite people working in comedy today. He’s awesome and he ALWAYS looks like he just walked out of a mall wearing everything he just bought.
I am a fellow Detroiter (Southwest side) and I remember all the commercials they are parodying on the show....classics! I wish we could have gotten more seasons! These two gentlemen are so funny and really capture the unique quality of what makes Detroit, Detroit!!!
I haven't seen any Detroiters, only I Think You Should Leave but I love whenever Sam appears. His character on the Metal Machine Man sketch is so funny
I love ITYSL and detroiters just came to Netflix so I just finished that. These guys have the BEST sense of humor. I’ve never watched a show that I had to keep rewinding because of how funny a scene was until theirs. You guys rule!
This show is so under rated, I’ve watched both seasons several times over and it makes me laugh hard everyone, especially the one where he hires his brother Trevor.
I love these guys 2gether! Ironically, Sam reminds me of my brother who died in '88 that was born in '82... he looks SO MUCH LIKE HIIM and Im older(by 2 years) and very light-skinned! Also, we both were born n raised in East side Detroit. RIP Dwight
I’d say anyone who grew up in or around a large city would understand that. I can’t think of a single major city that doesn’t have surrounding suburbs and towns.
I'm pretty much the same age as these dudes, and grew up on the East Side of Metro Detroit (East Detroit, Roseville, Harper Woods) Here are just a few of the commercials that I think of: D.O.C. ua-cam.com/video/F4S0eGznaL0/v-deo.html (Parodied directly on the show) Mel Farr Superstar - ua-cam.com/video/YnesVqoOPwA/v-deo.html (Such a weird idea to sell cars; Mel Farr stuck with the suit and the cape for years and years after that commercial) Alan Ford/ Ray Whitfield Ford - ua-cam.com/video/F4S0eGznaL0/v-deo.html (The song doesn't rhyme at all, but I still remember the words perfectly after 25 years)
I love how Tim Robinson gets it about the suburbs thing. You've got to earn the title of being a Detroiter, otherwise you better just be from "Metro Detroit"
OMGoodness! Sam Richardson! I grew up with your Dad & family in Detroit! Sparky & Lamarr! Man O Man! What great memories I have of Mitchell Street & Courville Elementary school!
Sometimes improv is a turn-off when you can see the gears grinding in the performer's mind. Somehow, Sam and Tim make the gear grinding as funny as the improv it results in. There have only been a few episodes of Detrioters [and this great interview] and many times I'm chuckling at them starting their bit as much as I usually chuckle at the bit itself. The subtle shifts and changes in expression and the mime-ing they initiate.
What about Alan Ford (Me and Dawg), Mel Farr, or that creepy exterminator who dressed up as a woman ironing clothes that sang a Jamaican song?!? LMAO!!! Detroit had/has some crazy commercials back in the day... what about the guy who was advertising funerals with 'Tha Crossroads' theme song in the background?!
Mr. Alan was hilarious. I’d always wondered what they dude looked like. I wish they’d done the old home renovations guy (Belvedere?) or Father and Son Construction.
@@OhanaFilms now they are saying no...I'm so damn confused and angry...they said comedy central wasn't going to pick it up but one of the streaming services was supposed to...I guess they are both in too many projects
Tim is the man, I love him to death & Seth seems cool too. I have not watched Detroiters, just ITYSLN.That said, this interview was strange. Sam bragging about his father calling the police on people complaining about their food is a weird flex. You need 1.6 million with start up costs up to $500,000 to open an Outback steakhouse, being a trust fund kid is a good reason to be that delusional. I am definitely going to check out the show though, Tim is hysterical.
Tim is one of my favorite people working in comedy today. He’s awesome and he ALWAYS looks like he just walked out of a mall wearing everything he just bought.
Lmao why is this so accurate
His actual style compared to his characters, ' combined with his personality, makes him seem like a completely different person
This is the best description of his aesthetic

Sam and Tim are the funniest people In Comedy today. They do not get enough credit.

i love you.
...who is played by Conner O'Malley, a former writer for Seth😉
Big love for these two from the UK!! I'm sure I didn't get half the jokes in Detroiters, but it was so effin funny, bring it back America!!!
god tim is fast. the whole "a 1 is someone stole a horse". hes a comedic juggernaut.
4:24 Tim with the quick wit-- that was 100% off the cuff. If it wasn't, he convinced me. Either way, fvckin genius

These two are comic gold! Bring back Detroiters!
I don't usually enjoy interviews but that was fun. Let's see it again.
"I'm from the suburbs, Sam is from the city" lol only Detroiters will understand Detroit culture 🤣😭
I mean unless I’m missing something this is a facet of chi culture as well

I was gonna comment the same thing.
It’s true!
Livonia, Royal Oak, Warren.... Not Detroit. Don’t say you’re from Detroit. You’re from the Detroit area.
What a stupid and trivial thing to care about.

If anyone is wondering what hanging out with improv people is like, it’s this interview.
