Great video, one of the best I have ever seen. Would this be very similar to a 3.6 vr6?

Hi, I got a question. I have a 3.2 from a Touareg I bought the engine with the timing chain done right about 2k rpm I hear some valve noise. Somebody told me that it could be oil pressure or a miscellaneous tube. How true is this? If you could help me I would appreciate it

Doing a 3.2 engine at the moment, do you know if there is a bit of movement also on the exhaust variator when it's installed (I'm able to move mine, just a small amount), some say it's supposed to be 100% "stuck", other indicate that it is a small movement on that one as well, any tips appreciated :)

It's only supposed to be a small amount, never as much as the intake one. On mk5 it has a little more play than mk4 due to extra variability.

      It should never be stuck.

Woow, hopefully you removed the oil pan and cleaned the oil pump, in case you didn't you will have a big problem, as the pump is 100% clogged with the plastic guides pieces. I'm talking from my personal experience, as I've done this job on my Touareg, 3.2 engine, the guides were completely disintegrated like yours and the pump was clogged up with small pieces. I installed the brand new oil pump for piece of mind. If the pump not cleaned, the engine will starve on oil, and you will get low oil pressure warning.

@@dusanmaslarevic561 I am very aware of this problem, lucky for me these guys were just cracked and no large pieces were not located. Unfortunately a different story on a 3.6 that I bought from someone who told me they had done the chains and guides. They messed up timing the HPFP, which caused a noise that sounded like a spun rod bearing. Blessing in disguise. Low and behold I drop the oil pan and there's plastic absolutely everywhere. It was so bad that I pulled a main bearing to find plastic had filled the main bearing groove.
